Lisa didn't like the name Alucard because she didn't want her son to be defined by his father, even if that meant he was being Dracula's opposite. She loved them both and wanted them both to be their own person.
To give you guys context. She gave her mold. She gave her _Penicillin._ A medicine we didn't discover in the real world until close to 500 years later.
Penicillin was discovered and used in ancient egypt too by the way! Of course not as potent as the penicillin we can chemically manufacture, but penicillin in mold was bred and the infested bread consumed :)
Enter the necromancer’s Hector and Isaac, one of whom may be in contention for my favorite character in the show. Seriously, all of the voice actors in this show are so talented and suit their roles perfectly, it’s unbelievable. Between the amazing voice acting, the rich source material, and the FANTASTIC animation, Castlevania is a gem.
@@callum4450 Oh, all day, every day. However, I didn’t want to influence the Normies or others who hadn’t seen the show and are watching with them by outright saying as much yet.
forge masters aren't necromancers. A necromancer animates a dead body. A forge master imbues a dead body with a demonic soul. Sounds similar, but it's rather different.
Hector & Issac are Devil Forgemasters, from the PS2 game "Castlevania: Curse of Darkness," and they are perhaps the most changed characters in the entire series from their original versions. In the game, Hector is motivated to fight against Dracula because of a personal betrayal. Issac, however, is COMPLETELY different in both motivation, personality, and design, but honestly I love the Nextflix version of Issac immensely better, having some of the best lines and character development in the whole show. Y'all are in for a treat!
One thing to know about the Castlevania universe is that humans are not pushovers. Hunters like The Belmonts, mages like Sypha, and the forgemasters in this show are incredibly powerful. Vampires are pretty cracked as well, but they generally are incapable of practicing the same arts as the humans (mainly due to the fact that they have no souls). Forgemasters, for instance, pull souls directly from hell to reanimate corpses, but vampires are not in good with heaven and hell and can't do that.
@icankickflipok Dracula isn't a typical vampire. He was a human that took, ans absorbed the power of the vampire. He was never turned. Never killed. Never born that way.
Sad fact about the zombie dog, it was actually based on the directors pug who died around season 2 production, they modeled the dog after his dog to honor it
The icosahedron (d20) is a reference, but not to D&D. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (the one where you play as Alucard) was on the PS1, and while most games were trying to use the very primitive 3d graphics (Resident Evil 1, FF 7, etc.) Castlevania stuck to pixel art graphics and produced one of the best looking games on the PS1. One of the only pieces of 3D graphics in the game is the rotating twenty-sided shape as the centerpiece of save rooms, and the icosahedron in the show has a very similar texture to the one in SotN. So, a little easter egg.
I love Peter Stormare on this show. I don't know if the performance is "good" or "bad"; I just know it's amazing. I picture him showing up day of, not knowing it's an animated show, and shouting, "What do you mean there's no scenery?! I'M HUNGRY!!" Then he starts gnawing, on the microphone, the sound baffling, the mixing board, the entire recording studio.
The castle itself is an agent of chaos. It can look however it wants, and that's why every game you play in it has a different layout. Hector is what is known as a Devil Forgemaster. He's the MC of CV: Curse of Darkness if you guys want to play a game with him as the focus!
This season does so much to humanize Dracula. In season One, you're already sympathetic due to what happened, but you may actually come to pity him in this season. You can already tell that he's just kind of broken.
To Raina defense they have done a test where they put together a bunch of 2 years kids in one room and watch them and found out that 2 years are extremely cruel to each other.
now the meet one of the greatest characters ever Issac!!! i mean the core 3 and dracula are amazing too but Issac is just something unreal his dialogue, his passion wooo
Hector is my favorite character of this series, followed by Isaac. I was thrilled by their introduction this episode. All of the characters really draw me in, though. The setting, tone, and story had me hooked by the first episode. Can’t wait to see the rest of your journey with this series!
Damarin, you aren't entirely incorrect. While the show at it's core is an adaptation of Castlevania 3, it does barrow story elements and characters from other games like Symphony of the Night, while also showcasing some elements original to the show itself.
Btw don't know if anyone said this but Targoviste is a real place just like Wallachia and nowadays they are part of Romania , also fun fact the past village of Gresit means Wrong in romanian
1. Dracula is only erasing all traces of humanity from Wallachia, not the world...he says this multiple times about killing all humans in Wallachia, that humans don't deserve Wallachia, tells them to leave Wallachia or die. 2. Hector and Isaac are Forgemasters, not Necromancers...he transformed the dead into night creatures with his hammer, he isn't resurrecting the dead with his hammer. 3. Lisa wanted Alucard to be his own man, not defined by his father or limited by what he is, instead finding his own purpose and happiness. Also, surprised that y'all overlooked the fact that the old lady sold out Lisa Tepes, that was why the church showed up at Lisa's house at that time. She felt bad about how they handled Lisa, but she still viewed Lisa's advanced medicines as witchcraft and satanic...that was why she actually didn't go to witness the burning of Lisa.
I think y'all are being too naive with Hector. Dude literally specializes in zombifying the dead. It isn't a stretch to think as a child he was obsessed with death and probably dabbled in experimenting on animals or even people, which is probably why his mother said something like that to begin with...
As a dad, I gotta call out Suraj for his dad moment: “the watchers, listeners… you mean the speakers?” Bru went through two other senses before someone helped him find the right one he was looking for
And now we're introduced to two of the main characters of Castlevania: Curse of Darkness; Hector and Isaac. I won't go into details about their in game lore, as it would give some spoilers for the rest of the show; but you're going to enjoy their arcs in this series. 14:49 - 14:53 That is a reference to save points in one the Metroidvainia Castlevania games. I forget which game or games it's from; I'm pretty sure it's not Symphony of the Night, but feel free to correct me if wrong.
there are functioning psychopaths if your kid is born literally incapable of empathy you can raise them right most dont become serial killers they become doctors surgeons the lack of empathy allows them to not less stress stop them from making critical medical decisions or cutting into people to help them titans of business(self explanatory) you can raise a "bad seed" to be a good human so its your fault if you fail
It's not so much that nothing is drawn anymore, but everything is assisted with digital animation. Everything is painted digitally and you can see it most in shadows or something pitch black. Compare to a show like Spawn TAS where the shadows of the alleys were black, but not completely or evenly so. The imperfection added something to style. And while the action scenes, which I do believe are done digitally, look amazing, something about it is lost compared to the painstaking cell animation of what you would see in like Vampire Hunter D or Macross Plus.
Sees something teleport, looks to Suraj, say it say it say it, he hasn't said it, episode ends, "I know an island that moves", all is right in the world again.
The idea is that the rival medicine woman was the one who turned Lisa in but there is a theory that it was more than just that but it's a major spoiler for later seasons
I mean to be fair, those things attack at night. and I'm guessing travelling isn't as fast as a taxi ride so they'd have to camp out at night, in the wilds, exposed from not just predators but the night creatures as well. And unless they can defend themselves like our main casts, they're fucked either way lol. At the very least in the city, they have shelter.
11:03 Ain’t no such thing as a bad kid, learn your families history with mental illness as well as your own and prepare for when symptoms may show up in a child, handle accordingly and respectfully. Like my family has a bad case of narcissism and I’m the only one who didn’t get it and it’s actually scary how willingly they will allow the weaker person to suffer if it helps them. They’ve never or very rarely worked on it so I have a very VERY good eye for narcissists even when I’m not looking which isn’t healthy. It’s all about mental health. Sorry, tangent, loving the show tho, can’t wait for the next series of it, unfortunate one of the writers turned out to be a fucking weirdo
I absolutely adore hector, he’s my precious baby and his little puppy is so cute. I forgot he killed his parents though. I didn’t like Issac when I first watched this, he weirded me out but has such good character development that I just can’t bring myself to hate him anymore.

It was cool to see Vampires from different cultures and nationalities. Actually something I wouldn't have minded seeing more of

Gotta keep your eyes on Isaac. That man right there is a character worth watching. Especially after this season.
14:50 "is that a DnD reference"
No.. it's a Castlevania reference (from Symphony of the Night even).
Crazy how the one dude who likes SOTN didnt recognize that the controls for moving the castle is the dodecahedran in the save rooms

This season does so much to humanize Dracula. In season One, you're already sympathetic due to what happened, but you may actually come to pity him in this season. You can already tell that he's just kind of broken.

Rana out here worrying about “babies with bad vibes”.
