I live in San Diego, California and I love watching garden tours from the same time of year around the world. It's so cool to see which plants can grow in different zones and to see some plants I've never heard of before. Keep the updates coming!
All of your containers look so beautiful! I especially love the two by the front door with begonias, artemesia and rooster grass. Might have to copy those next year! My poor hardy geraniums are looking pretty rough too and my nepeta is really yellow from all the rain. I'm just planting annuals to fill in around them for this summer and disguise them while they recover. Glad to see your garden pulled through the June deluge. Hopefully July and August send us more "average" rain totals instead of tropical storms!
I love my front containers. They are the only ones I had to water, since they are under an overhang. It has been nice not having to water so much. The rain water does make a huge difference. I haven't fertilized once this year. Thanks for watching
I'm happy to see your gardens are on the upswing. Even my husband asked me how you're doing the other day! LOL! We're praying for you! This rain is just too much.
Not looking forward to all the rain that is predicted and I am hoping I don't have to get my pumps back out. It is just starting to get back to normal. Thanks for watching
The gardens look fabulous❤❤❤❤ Please send some rain our way central NE Ohio. We're in moderate drought. We went 3 weeks before we got very little rain and record high Temps and humidity
I would happily send you all the rain that is going to be coming my way, again. Minnesota is pretty much flooded and the damage is devastating. Thanks for watching
Happy to see that most of your garden still looks amazing in spite of all the rain.At 28:54, you showed a potted plant with tiny, airy purple blooms and one on the other side of the path. What is that? It’s so pretty and dainty.
I was finally able to mow behind the garden after a month. Still very wet, but with more rain coming, I needed to mow what I could. Thanks for watching
Lots and lots of weeding. I still have some grass and weeds growing through some, but it has taken a while to get it looking the way it does. I don't use any chemicals on my gardens. Thanks for watching
Thanks. I was thinking maybe it is a bit too much color with the geraniums, but I didn't have the heart to compost them. Not sure how they will look when the Day Lillies start to bloom. Thanks for watching
Down here in Louisiana it’s 100 degrees and the rain has been a little here and there. But the heat makes me not want to go outside. At 6:30am it was 79 with 80 percent humidity
I would love to send you all the rain that is coming our way again. Most of Minnesota is flooded and the damage has been devastating. Thanks for watching
All still very pretty despite all the rain. Love all the different colors and textures, that takes talent. Couple questions, will you be adding any type of stuff to the things that need help with yellowing from all the rain and what would you use? And what were the 2 names of the beautiful dahlias?
No. I will not do anything to the soil of the yellowing plants. Most my plants are fertilized with chicken manure pellets in the spring and I make my own compost and will apply that in the fall. I can't make a huge amount, so sometimes I have to buy some compost. I am not the best at fertilizing my plants. Some years I do and most years I don't. All of my dahlias I started from seed, except the Waltzing Mathilda Dahlias. I think the seeds were a cactus dahlias mix. Thanks for watching
Your garden looks great despite all the rain! Here in coastal North Carolina, I'm not getting rain at all. Ugh. Curious - what is the green and white speckled plant you have several of? It was near the start of the video in a row along the front of your bed. Thanks so much!! 💚
Oh Susie, just gorgeous!! Everything looks so lush and happy. Just last night I was thinking about you and how you were doing, worried you gave up so its so good to see pretty well all is fine 👍 Your Sun Kings have grown so much, mine are barely bigger than when I planted them the beginning of last year 🤷🏻♀️How many hours of sun do yours get? We have had continuous rain also, nothing close to the amount you have but it sure makes it hard to get out there to do anything with all the mosquitos! My Goats Beard probably grew 2’ feet in the last month ( also new last year) which is fantastic but some of the leaves look like they have Rust but Rust usually doesn’t attack them, any ideas what it would be? Also, have you ever had Thrips? I have 3 beautiful Yellow Columbines separated by many feet and all 3 have Thrips, ever fought those? I’ve read yellow blossoms are prime for Thrips. I’m so glad for you, I understand close up might show more damage but from our view it is luscious ❤️ …and you sound more relaxed and hopeful. Take care Brenda🇨🇦
My Sun Kings in the front get at least 6 hours of sun and the ones in my back garden gets around 8 - 10 hours of sun, but they only look as good as they do because of the rain. They tend to scorch if it's too dry. I would cut off the affected foliage of your Goats Beard and see if it stops. I don't use chemicals in my gardens, so I don't know if there is something you could spray on them. I have never had thrips before, so unfortunately I can't help you there. Sorry about that. Thanks so much for watching
At 29:00 is Verbena 'Bampton'. I got those seeds from selectseeds.com and at 31:24 is Opera Supreme Lilac Ice Petunia and I got those seeds from swallowtailgardenseeds.com. Thanks for watching
We've been in a drought here in south eastern NC. I don't know which is worse, extreme heat in a drought or too much rain. Everything is crunchy and too hot to be out hand watering. 😕
It has been cooler than normal, but it has been very nice not having the air conditioning on. I used to love the sound of rain and now it is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. Thanks for watching
So pretty. Everything!
Thank you! 🤗
Amazing! You have made some really lovely plant choices.
Thanks for watching

It is a Hot Wings Tatarian Maple, if it is the tree at the beginning of the video you are referring too. Thanks for watching

I have been looking for an old firepit like that on Marketplace but no luck close to me yet.
It got too rusted for a fire pit so I thought it would make a nice planter. It is one of my favorite planters. Thanks for watching
What kind of tree is shown at 1:30 mark?
Hotwings Tatarian Maple. Thanks for watching
