I just broke my axial smt 10 today I was driving and having fun until I went around a corner to run into a pumpkin. I broke the servo saver sadly. My dad go upset that I broke it so soon but I fixed it with a zip tie and hot glue and so far so good. With the past 2 days that I’ve had it I have had a great time. Other than when I broke it😅
What sucks tho is that the shock oil in the rear has been almost completely depleted and I don’t have any on me. I might ask my neighbor tho because right now he doesn’t have any running trucks at the moment
Awesome that you got an SMT10. Tell your dad, that being able to break and repair these it what makes them great. If you get cheaper models, there aren't parts to be able to repair them.
I have 2 of them. They're nuts. I ended up fully upgrading both of them & making upper arms that can survive carmageddon. They sell out so fast it's sick.
I have this truck and love it the only issue I had so far was that plastic servo horn stripped out and I upgraded it to the metal one. I did add a powerhobby fan to my motor.
You are not wrong about those upper inner suspension arms... I've never driven mine above 4s, 60C, and I've broken 3 total sets of the fronts now. 1 plastic set, and 2 aluminum. The problem is the diameter of the turnbuckle, you want 5mm, their's is 3.5 maybe 4, but those break every time. I am about to begin rigorous testing on 5mm in plastic. Arrma turnbuckles are like 9.99 a pair, so a $10 upgrade that may prolong it significantly. That said, It's also nice to know where the weak points of any vehicle are, and interesting to see how much replacements will cost... They are one of the cheapest things to replace on the Kaiju. So that's a win. Just order 3x sets and you'll be great for a while. Just my 0.02 cents. My $399.99 Kaiju is now worth $1000 in parts and upgrades, and she still has the stock motor, ESC, and radio/receiver, tires and body... But I have most all of the aluminum and metal upgrades and such now... Highly advise the sway bars... Great rig. Nice to have a fully upgraded and dialed in basher for the starting cost of most of the bigger names. Great video. Very honest!!
Truly a crazy truck just wish it wasn't so frail and for customer service actually to back their product they say they do but so far nothing but excuses they even made claims to knowing alot of them are faulty out of the box and still lack a resolution and as far as parts go constantly sold out so even the parts they promise to send out to help resolve said issues never showed up as for weak parts .drive cups ,cva shafts , body mounts, servo horn is a must replace, pinion gear and lack of loctite .....super fun when you can actually have the parts you need to actually run the damn thing also be aware the diffs are not really protected or sealed or greased really at all like I said it's a fun truck just make sure you can stock up on everything/upgrade parts if possible before wasting your time

I did not know that about you. This, the Ground Pounder and the Gen8 v2 are the only Redcat I’ve had and they have been good so far. I know Redcat has a lot of bad press to undo from some of their cheap re-brand cars.

It's perfect on a 5S lipo! I had the original v1. Year or so ago. This 1 is the version 3. Much heavier duty! STILL, make sure ALL the hardware is locktite'd!!!

first part you should grab is the steel spur gear... then bigger battery straps I had one over a year ago... my only issue was the plastic spur gear on 6s will shred idc what anyone says.. it's just a matter of when... this truck was the best purchase you can make for the price period... enjoy bro 🍻

I think I ruined my brand new 5000 mah 3s spektrum batt yesterday in the Hoss. The balance lead broke somehow and I nearly caught my backpack on fire in my Chevy lumina. Crazy definitely learned something yesterday lol
@@CCxRC there's lots of folks who have issues with out of the box steering on these trucks. I mentioned the metal servo horn to you in another video. I know for me, it would have been helpful to see a replacement and a setup after the new horn is installed. I'm still having lots of issues getting mine to track straight and stay straigh-ish. As of today, I'll set the trim and it will be fine, then after a hard turn or a full lock the steering will be waaay off, after i slow down or stop and re-zero the wheel it will be straight again. Then after some speed or a hard turn - waaaay off again. I know of at least two other people with similar issues.
TOO, remove the top 2 brackets for the front bumper! (When landing on the bumper, it will give tremendously more than when it has the top braces attached.)
It looks more like a scaled up Rival MT10 (which was based on the platform of the Helion Avenge 10MT) if you look at the shock guards, bumper, wheelie bar, electronics box, shock tower stylings, etc. The underside of the chassis is definitely designed a bit different, probably to add stiffness for the extended length. That said...the MT10 is an awesomely fun truck that is pretty durable. So I look forward to running this. The shock tower braces definitely give it that Traxxas Maxx look.
My favorite r/c's in order : Losi , Ofna which I think is Habao now , and then Redcat . I truly love a Redcat . A lot of people say they don't like Redcat because they stold some designs from other companies . All of them do that . The only thing I hate about the Kaiju is the tiny fenderwells .
That's cool Russell. I enjoyed my Redcat Ground Pounder experience. It was a fun truck for it's time. It's in need of an update, but it's held on and continues to sell out. I'm really liking what Redcat has done with the Kaiju.

It's a great value. Weaknesses : diff drive cups, plastic servo horn, plastic spur gear, body breaks apart easily, needs fans on the motor, upper control arms break easily, front bumper mounts break easily. I've made mine way more durable with a few tweaks. I've never broken shock towers or the chassis. Also I've only broken 1 lower control arm after many many jumps

Well all RTR and rc vehicles in general have weaknesses that can be addressed easily like I did with the Kaiju, Xmaxx, Outcast 8s, Maxx 4s etc. Every single one had something to be addressed. No biggie. The biggest pro of the Kaiju is the low initial price. I break it way less now since I drive much better now too 🤣. I would buy it again with no hesitation.

Lol. -I have the Traxxas Maxx and that thing sucks, it is no fun to drive and requires another $200 to make it fun (terrible suspension). I have the Tekno MT410 and that is by far the best truck as far as race ready and quality. My X-Maxx 8s is still sitting under the Christmas Tree waiting. That might be my new favorite. But as of now, my favorite is my cheapo $269 Rival MT10. I also have a Losi Tenacity and that is a fun and reliable truck at the track. but for stunts, Rival MT10. I really like the platform of the Kaiju!

It’s a must have pinion with plastic spurs to keep from stripping them. We use in rally competitions no issues. Also comes with a spare spur gear. I’m asking $200 plus shipping with original box and items.

I run mine mostly on 4S the sweet spot IMO, on 6S it's a animal, lot of value for what you get and a blast to bash.
