Used to be an ad on TV, "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature"! But hey, makes more work for you and $ for Erin and some new (needed) toy for you! Those trees ALL sound dead. I thought "snap, crackle & pop" was for cereal. What a mess happened out there - too bad! You'll get there good buddy, good job! Thanks for another. Sonny
It’s always been that way , people see a nice neat grass lined ditch and never realize what they are looking at. Then you look at an tree lined ditch and see wash outs and erosion and wonder why. The smooth flow of water is what people need yet it seems like no one gets it. #1 maintenance for a good ditch , no trees or brush, just a good stand of gas that’s kept mowed once in a while. Anything that creates turbulence creates issues. Enjoy your efforts 👍 🇺🇸🦅🌏⚓️🇺🇸.
Looking good. Bigger machine does work a lot better. We have sure had some rain the past few days here. Take care and have a blessed week and see you on your next video. Hey MRS. Elite and little Elite.
Looking good so far. Yeah the bigger machine does come in handy kinda of nice getting a break from the railroad project hopefully we get some dry weather. Keep up the great videos
Wider ditch with a berm should help. The other thing you can do it put down rock berms across the ditch. Make it deeper between the berms to hold more water during floods. It slows the water down, so the culverts have time to catch up.
Hi Brandon!!😀😀 The 2150 is a great machine. It's quite a bit more expensive but you can charge so much more per hour with the extra amount of work you can get done per hour. Even if you could find a good used 1140 with low hours on it I'm sure you would be really happy with it compared to the 290. Take care buddy!!😀😀👍👍 The big Coochi!!😀😀
Allowing trees to grow in or on the edge of ditches is a common mistake people make. Bush hogging those things regularly sure provides some good maintenance. Around here the farmers have found that using round up on the ditches to keep vegetation dead leads to excessive erosion. I see a need for a bush hog type attachment for the excavator finding a check in the near future in our area.
All those trees and brush in and adjacent to the main drainway can create a big problem over time by trapping debris and diverting runoff out of it. What you did looks great and should definitely help the situation 👍
Plz a little smoother on the hydraulics, I like watching , but when I hear clang clang clang it is a annoying but plz keep up the good work. I just had that same ma nine dropped off as a demo today. Tomorrow morning I will see it . Can’t wait to operate it
Got to play with the 140 some yesterday, I like it, but your thumb is way nicer! Got rained out today 😢. It seems a little jerky to me, but I’ll get used to it. It only has 440 hours on it. I’m doing almost the same tomorrow as what you were at the railroad, scooping out topsoil and muck and laying back some gravely clay I dug out of a hill close by. My kid is moving it with the M59 till the svl95 comes back from its recall (has 105 hours on it) 😡. The service manager liked all my stickers on it from you and Mrs Eew etc. lol
It's hard to believe that much water went down that ditch to tear up that paved driveway. What you did already should help the situation immensely. Question, does that thumb move really slow or is it just my imagination? Can you adjust the flow on the touch screen? Stay safe bud.
Yeah they had a ton of water there. Yeah the thumb is very slow but I have it turned up all the way. I think it has an orfice in the cylinder or line you can take out. Appreciate the comment
My 1140 really dosen't hurt the pavement unless it's in the 80s and 90s with the sun shining. Just have to move in early in the morning or late afternoon.
Finally got back in the dirt! Slicking that ditch will help the flow a bunch. Hopefully that rain didn’t silt in all of your work? Having dad there to dice those trees was handy. And, he didn’t have to bring the Dingo out to help you this time! 🤓 Typical county job... plop in a few culverts... pour a couple of yards of concrete over the top of the ends... don’t touch the inlet flow or rip-rap around the base. After all, it’s a lifetime job and they’re all about maintenance... year after year after year..., What you are doing should help my road taxes go a bit further. Thanks!!! That baby can munch trees like a T-Rex. You’re gonna be spoiled when you take her home. Good job shooting this... and now you’re getting dad into the cameraman action. Won’t be long until your film production crew is bigger than your excavation crew!
Lol you are right about the county. Yeah I’m already spoiled and just want to keep it it’s just so handy. Thanks! I’m trying to switch up camera angles and such. Appreciate the comment
@Omerta_ Don83 an excavator with a fixed boom requires the cab to pivot left or right for the boom to swing left or right. A swinging boom has a pivot joint right in front of the cab. It allows the boom to swivel without the cab moving. The fixed boom machines are simpler, require less maintenance and have fewer breakdowns. They also have the advantage that your body turns with the boom so you always have a good sight line to your work. On the other hand, once in a while you are in a tight place and can’t swing the cab without the back end hitting something. In those cases, the more expensive and less reliable swing boom comes in handy. It’s a trade off... if you often use the swing boom feature you want it... if you don’t, well it changes the geometry of the machine, complicates the controls and becomes a bit of an annoyance... you know... kind of like having a snow plow adapter on your pickup in Phoenix!
@Omerta_ Don83 you are welcome... another thought... a swing boom works just like a backhoe. A fixed boom works more like a shovel where you have to twist your body to move the dirt to the side of the hole.
Clearing ditches ain't ez work especially over growth it is hard @ times I am use to a bigger machine the work we get into we need bigger machines we also use Rock trucks alot makesvthe job ezer
I would think that has got to work better now! Nice work there sir! Fun to see you running the bigger machine.
Thank you! I’ve enjoyed running the bigger excavator I don’t want to give it back 🤣 Appreciate the comment
Sitting in a doctor's appointment watching your video, wishing I was on my excavator! Lol.

Hey Brandon nice work so far the 2150 would be a great investment for you it certainly made short work on that job the time you were there 👍👍👍
Thank you! I know it’s so handy we are actually talking about buying it 😁

Thanks! I’m happy with it!
Nice work with the tak, sounds like you enjoyed it over the usual mini excavator. Good aim on that last tree LOL take care man
