I think it would be a fun thing to do some color dodging of the bright parts of the snow by picking a color of the sky diagonal of snow. Would also help lead the viewers eye from that glow you mentioned in the front. And LAB Color for the sky always seems to be a minor boost to make it pop more.
I love the second, vertical composition much better. The layering is more balanced and less abrupt in my opinion. However, the light on the middle layer is very dominating and leading. Breathtaking landscapes. I am certainly blessed in the PNW, but New Zealand is on a whole different level.
Beautiful pictures with lots of details on how you build your composition. Very instructive. I particularly like the landscape one. Stunning! I like the Kea. Hopefully I will be able to see some in the workshop next September! :-)
Amazing location! Thanks for sharing this with us. And those kea alpine parrot are stealing the show 😂 how is that picture turned to be? (With the birds in the foreground) 🤩🙋🏽♀️
You talk their language mate 😂 Amazing sight that. 😮 Here’s a question for you, is it because of photography that you love nature or is it because of nature that you love photography. I think I know the answer 😊👍

Thank you. The Kea Image was too simple for me, and I didn’t like the upward perspective. Shame!
Excellent tips. Stunning location! Beautiful photos
Thanks a lot legend
Love this. What a beautiful location! Thanks for sharing. Can’t believe there’s still so much snow. Is this in Milford or mount cook?
Thank you. This is the bigger peaks, closer to Mount Cook about three weeks ago however another huge amount of snow fell up there recently.
Images 10/10 👌🏻Kea speak somewhere between a pigeon and a kitten purr 4/10 😉
Haha, well thankfully that wasn’t me 😂

Here’s a question for you, is it because of photography that you love nature or is it because of nature that you love photography. I think I know the answer 😊👍
Started with photography, but now nature is the passion and inspiration.
