  • The Magruder Corridor is the only road within 3.5 million acres of wilderness. The corridor was created in 1980 leaving a unique road that enables a traveler to drive between two wildernesses: the 1.2 million-acre Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness to the north, and the 2.3-million-acre Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness to the South. Follow along as Ian and Blu make their way through the wilderness in the van and get into some interesting terrain!

This is almost in my back yard, and I haven't been on this road! Sounds like a trip for this summer. :)

Oh my goodness I've never had a van life people in my backyard. One thing I'll throw out there as a new subscriber who's about to hit the road herself. Get you all selves a sluice box and every time you camp alongside a creek put it into the creek the moment you get there and then take it out as you leave as long as it's been in the water for several hours it will have gold in it. The sluice box themselves are only 30 in long 8 in wide and 3 in tall and when you consider the bounty that you can pan out of what you collect at your leisure. I also invested and a battery powered small Shop-Vac to vacuum out the gold of the cracks in the Falls along the creeks everywhere the water drops down and everywhere there's a crack there's gold in it but rather than using some silly handmade suction tubing I simply bought a small shop vac suck the cracks out now pan the gold out at your leisure. I once ran into a man at the campground right here in the Bitterroot doing so. He said he pays for his trip every time he comes here to visit his daughter by simply coming up here twice in a trip. Two trips to the creek pays for his trip. That is how I plan on paying for my fuel on the road.
