Are you able to progressively save a layer as a jpeg or png? For example, if I have 5 layers, but I want to save the combination of 3 unhidden layers as a jpeg or png.
@McLovin2021 Mclovin Hey McLovin2021, I don't know if your question has been answered although it was some time ago. I am a bit of a novice as well but when I go to "FILE' on the top menu bar, then scroll down to 'place embedded... or place linked' I am offered the options for images to load into PS. Once I choose said image then click on 'place" it is automatically added to my project as a layer. I hope this works for you as I'm not privy to the methods of different PS versions.
This, so far, has been the best “beginner” tutorial for photoshop I’ve seen. Great pace and voice. I just subscribed.

Really helpful and very good pace. Please keep up with these “beginner” videos to help us folks who are struggling and frustrated with this extremely over-engineered and powerful tool. Having multiple ways of doing the same thing just seems to make it that many times more difficult and overwhelming to master the application. I have had an uneasy relationship with PS for a long time and have ended up back in LR for my work. But now I am trying to learn to do good real estate interiors. This has brought me back to PS. Thanks for posting "Beginner videos.Starting to try and get to grips with Photoshop, from a complete no nothing perspective. Only comment I would make is you are very clearly showing layer systems and how they work. What I would have liked fror a complete novice is how did the layers and the ones you want get there in the first place. Love your teaching style and pace.

You are a great professional tutor unlike some that care more about their external appearance shaving strange beards, wearing kitschy bracelets maky funny faces etc' rather than focus on a clear and smooth go. I am new to PS and have watched several tutorials. Finally I understand the concept of layers thanks to your awesome informative video clip. Very clear to understand and I liked the analogy with the glass sheets being stacked on each other. Excellent!

I have been using Photoshop, starting with Elements around 12 years ago. Now I'm a camera club officer with the role of advisor and mentor to club members starting to enter club and other contests . I can send them here to get familiar with the basics.

Thanks for the tutorial and it was at a great pace. One thing I've learned over the years using Photoshop is sometimes you can get so wrapped up in doing things a certain way that you forget some of the basics--basics which actually make things easier. Keep the tutorials coming!
