Hope you all like this one! If you could give SP and Jacob a like on their pages (in the description), that would be very much appreciated! Also, Velux, if you're reading this, please sponsor me xox
Great video, hope the numbers of views goes through the roof 🏠
Love the exposed stone ❤️ don't you dare cover that up now 😁❤️
Whoa! I did not expect the Velux windows to open!
Love your honesty
@@Kim-J312 It is lovely, but would be pretty darn cold in the winter, don't you think? They'll need to cover the stone with insulation.
Always nice to see skilled labourers at work. What a great transformation to the room.
The skylights and raised roof - 100% transformation.
It certainly is. The room just feels much nicer now.
raising the room struts and installing the windows has already made this room look better. well done to the lads for their hard work
Hi George. Sean Paul looks so comfortable in his work like "All in a days work, yes??" he just bangs on without batting an eye over it. It looks really great. Can't wait to see the whole house come together.
Haha he does! Cheers Jeremy.
They really surprised me at the end when one of them popped open the valence and was right on the other side of it 😅 I didn't expect the window to open!
Outstanding. And your humour is much appreciated here in Canada on this darkish day. Looking forward to the next bit.
Glad you enjoyed it
This is definitely an ‘extreme’ makeover. Wow. Those guys are doing a fab job. You don’t see good work these days 👍 and their clean up - 👍 👍
Sky lights always make an incredible difference in a home. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
They certainly do. Think it's going to be a staple of every home I own.
I hope you have Sean Paul back to do more work. That guy is amazing to watch!
I’m glad you’re holding on to the roof tiles. They are very coveted in my area (Florida in the US) and cost an arm and a leg! We usually have to go with asphalt shingles.
What a difference light makes. Love those windows.
You deserve a big chunk of that Million Views Pie. Shoutout to Sean Paul and his Grandfather.
Here's hoping 🥧
Pretty extreme, I’d say. Glorious to see such adept craftsmen at work. Dynamite stuff. Huge improvement to let the light in. Carry on!
Ahh, this would be my dream, had arthritis not knackered me. Lovely to see someone else doing this. All power to you!
It certainly does. Me too!
@@PatchyOh, I didn’t know. That makes what you’re doing even more impressive!
@@jimw6659 huh?
Healing for you!
You are correct. There is nothing like a light filled room to change things.
A colourful room does uplift your mood.
💯
John Paul is a very thorough man! His work is detailed to a T! You have chosen a great company to work with! 👏👏👏
You are right, George. Those windows take the space from dull to very special. Good eye for the details!
Fantastic!!!! Those roof Veluxe windows make a big difference to the living room and kitchen area. I would have done the same: I, like you, George, prefer more natural light into a room. The natural light lifts the spirit and makes the room more appealing, and more welcoming.
We have a natural wood tongue and groove ceiling and beams with skylights and I love it!!! It adds so much light especially with the wood ceiling. We also have a room with a sheet rocked ceiling painted white with a skylight and it is beautiful too. They did a beautiful job!!! Thanks for sharing! ☀️
looks great, george. you've found yourself a very talented contractor.
So enjoyable, but too short! Would love to see more footage and more of your exquisite narration George.
Hey George, Sean Paul and his helpers are top notch carpenters! Amazing what can get done by people who know what they're doing. Fantastic video Patchy!😊🎉
I'm looking forward to all the videos of this house. Your other house turned out so well I can't wait to see what you do with this one. Love the higher ceiling and windows. 😀💕🖖
Very nice rooflights, I like that internally they are white and externally they are dark, centre pivot helps with any window cleaning.
This is astonishingly fantastic, George!! If this crew was in the US, I'd hire them in a heartbeat! Looking forward to the next phase of your journey.
Cracking job! I look forward to more instalments. Hope your tiny house is also doing well.
I hope that in the next video we get to see how the Veluxes are waterproofed as the new roof is laid down. I seem to hear a lot of chatter about how skylights are risky in regards to waterleaks and such.
They are very common in Britain and if fitted correctly are no problem at all
@@nicolad8822 yeah, that makes sense. We had more of them back in the days in Norway as wel, and I have always liked those kinds of skylights. But when people build new houses and I ask them why they don't get a skylight, many of them talks about the risk of leaks...
Huge transformation. You must be so pleased. Can't wait to see some more of this renovation, George. Good luck, I hope it goes well.
I love how the windows tilt so you can open them up. That is a very cool feature. Love what you had done.
This reminds me of when I did my own extreme room makeover many years ago. I turned a room off the kitchen that had no windows into a sunroom with windows on both sides, plus a French door to the outside. All the windows and doors came from a place that sold used materials, so it was an inexpensive makeover, even with .! But the most amazing part was when the carpenter cut the first hole in the wall and exposed the beautiful view beyond of a large pond, and the room filled with light. May you have a multitude of views on this one. (I think if you'd brought Junior in and put him on the roof to do an inspection, then let him down through the skylight in a basket. Wearing a crown and a velvet cape, that might have clinched it.)
Your sense of humor is so awesome. I can’t wait to see what your house looks like when it’s all done.
Looks brilliant so far - congrats George, we’re all rooting for you!!! 😊
Yay George, looks beautiful! Rooting for you here, too. Plus Sean Paul and team are roofing for you! 😁
Not long enough George! So much better than any home renovation show in the states. We all would love to see more.
lol i loved the "redacted" in there. The windows really do give it such beautiful light.
Great transformation, George! Your lads are pretty excellent workers. I'm enjoying the process of your renovation, and of course, I love your sense of humour! 😄♥
Great content! Looking forward to more extremeness!
Thank you! :)
A great advert for the companies on board & you definitely qualify for using the word extreme (which most can't). That is a brilliant amount more light in the room
Stunning transformation in the thumbnail. Looking forward to this upload.
They're doing a class job so far! :)
One can tell Sean Paul and crew are very good with their craft. I am glad you got them working for you, George. That house will look great when it is done.
Wonderful. That room is just so open now and bright. Great job all.
Oh my Goodness!!
This is Amazing.. I REALLY love it.. Thank You for Sharing.. all your hard work and all those you have enlisted to make this Transformation is Awesome! What exciting memories you have captured.
I appreciate you for sharing this Patchy!!
You are a Breath of Fresh Air!!
Praying for continued Success 😇
Wow that is cracking. Cant wait to watch more!
Plenty more to come 😄
Wow what a wonderful improvement. Sean Paul doesn't mess around. The skylights are beautiful and operational. Can't wait to see the roof tiles. Glad you were able to film this process. Good video. Thanks
All that light! The place looks amazing!!! I really am enjoying how you are presenting this and look forward to watching your lovely new home take shape. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Lots of lovely day light. Can't wait to see what you will do withe the interior next.
What an amazing view from the patio doors
Wow! In the last video I was going to comment that I hope you would leave the ceiling height in that room. OMG, it's going to look amazing! Regards from Indiana!
That looks amazing so far! ❤
I'm really pleased with it! :)
I'm impressed with how quickly and confidently SP seems to work
Wow that is an amazing transformation. I can’t wait to see it done. Lucky you to live in a beautiful house like that once it is done.
What a difference raising the roof and putting in skylights made and what a great job they did!!! WTG
Brilliant video! I was wondering about how roofing could possibly be done when rain falls potentially every other moment in Scotland! Love how you explained about the underlayer. The place is looking amazing. Congrats! 👏
As a person in Fife in need of a roofer, this was very timely!
i love this series so much :) enjoyed every second of it!
Glad to hear it! :)
I’ve never been more fascinated by roofing.
Haha you'll like the next video then!
You have a great work crew! Multi-talented!
I’m looking forward to each video as what you’ve had done so far is impressive
Take care from Canada 🇨🇦❤️
This is going to be awesome! I love seeing how the work is done in videos like this. Differs a bunch between different parts of the world.
With having good crafts men. Its lovely to see the house take shape x
The light from the windows is fantastic.
the first knocking out of the skylight and it suddenly making it much brighter gave me so much serotonin lmao I lived in a dark basement suite for a long time before and I definitely think natural light and big windows are under rated, just being able to wake up from sunlight shining in my room now makes me so happy
Stunning transformation! Well... like your tiny house!
We wish you could post the patter between the joiners. Hilarity makes a long work day speed by!
Cheers Duncan! Really pleased with the work they're doing!
I understand the 'copyright' bs from YT is the main reason for not posting their banter.Allot of people wouldn't understand their accents, but mainly need to miss the words following a hammer to a finger.I've done some renovations and I surprised myself with forgotten words ;)Edit=I don't recall any words after a 3" staple hit a knot and nailed though my thumb sideways and firmly attached it to a 2'x12".Right through the bone too...I do recall the pain a few minutes later after I'd bandaged each hole and went right back to work.
@@bryduhbikeguy Been there, done that. A lifetime of extensive (and ongoing) renovations and additions insures plenty of injury stories, like that time I fell onto a concrete slab off a 12' ladder. Ooooof! :-)
Your detailed explanations are very much appreciated.
So satisfying seeing the roof cleaned
Love the rustic look inside, so cozy and alot of personality 😁❤️
It is such a transformation with the skylight windows.great job. ❤
the minute natural light got in... man that was beautiful to watch
Best extreme makeover ever! Can’t wait for the final reveal 😎🇦🇺
George that room is going to be gorgeous! You're going to save money on your electric bill too.
I know you talked about insulating the walls but they are so beautiful. Maybe leave one wall exposed? Is there an inside wall that is stone? Just writing out loud.
You have excellent taste and know what you want to live with.
If you have excess roof tiles, you can probably get a good price for them.
Pat Junior for me.
Have been waiting for your next video and now it's here
I like the relaxing aspects of your channel and you have really nice voice to accommodate the atmosphere
Thank you for another fascinating episode
Now I really want to live in your town ❤
Thank you! It really is a lovely place to live. :)
So awesome, and I really appreciate how tidy and efficient all the workmen are. Can't wait to see more!
It’s looking so good. Great job, you guys!
George.. The progress looks great and I as well as everyone else here look forward to progress videos and the final finish of the remodel. Good luck.
George your sense of humor cracks me up! I’ll keep that roofing underlayment in mind because there just so happens to be a lot of both lazy and old roofers around these here parts. 😂
Looks wonderful! Your new place is really coming along!
How exciting George to see it starting to transform, looking forward to watching the upcoming videos...😊
Ahh, George. I can imagine it is really wonderful getting light in through the roof in Scotland. In subtropical Australia, not so much. Tends to bleach or crisp up anything underneath it. Windows in the walls are quite enough. Thoroghly enjoy your videos and sense of humour. Thank-you.
What a difference it makes to have all That natural light! Beautiful! 😍
LEGIT extreme! What a transformation.
This was exciting to watch, and makes me look forward to each of the upcoming steps.
Looking good, George. Keep up the good work.
You had me laughing out loud 2 or 3 times during that video George. Absolutely love your videos. Joy, South Australia.
What an incredible transformation. It’s astounding to see the difference now, with so much natural light pouring in. That was a really smart investment. The installers did an incredible job. Loved watching your video. I hope you get a billion views!
This is looking so fantastic!!! It's a dream work studio for me!!!
I’m with you George, you can never have too much light!😎
It is awesome to see true professionals at work - and these guys are so young! In the part of the US where I live, I just see older men doing this work and if they have young helpers, the helpers don't speak English. Love the transformation of the room.
Love this’d roof tiles.
Please consider running Cat6 cable to a central location. It will be difficult for WiFi signal to penetrate those internal brick walls. Also, easier to deploy outside security cameras. Unfi offers a full spectrum of equipment for this purpose.
Hi George love what you are doing and agree totally re never too much natural light
Cheers
Mike
It’s going to be a beautiful room. The windows are wonderful. I love a space that has lots of natural light, and it definitely affects my mood in a positive way.
I love how your sense of humor sneaks in from time to time. Impressive change - you are quite right about the light. Just curious, one of the odd current fashions in the USA is to paint the outside of your home black - or use black trim. I hope this trend dies quickly!
Can’t wait to see when it’s done. How exciting.
What a huge difference, George! Looking forward to watching your house be transformed. Amazing views of the hills behind the house, as well! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Let there be light! I'm with you, can never have too much light in a room. In our countries anyway. I'm in Ireland.
Great work! Beautiful Transformation 🌞
I’m super envious Patchy, my house is north facing and incredibly dark. I’m saving up for holes in the wall on the other side. Idiot builders didn’t put windows on the south side where there is space for two or east where there is space for one. It’s like living in a cardboard box. It’s so dark that it’s only possible to read a book in the north facing living room for an hour in the morning in the spring and autumn, and a couple of hours in summer. The rest of the year impossible. I mostly use it as a cupboard.
Loving your renovation.
It looks fantastic, great job! We, or rather my husband, added two Velux windows to our first son's bedroom and the natural light that comes in now is awesome. Good decision George!
"Underground fight clubs". I love your sense of humour where you slip in words like that and see if we notice. 🤣
I just love how peaceful your renovation adventure videos are. Thank you xx
