    Release is something I'm going to concentrate on this year. I'm trying out different jumbo grips and like 'em so far. Helping to take the wrist out of the equation. I've always been really wristy in my swing, both at the top and through.

      There is a good wristy and a not so good flippy; which the release of the club will address for sure! Don’t try to not use the wrists of put shackles on them, rather give them a different task! we have a great selection of tasks on our premium channel; see “Top 3 tasks” and “task update” and “task 2.0” as a start! Great workout, Shawn! Have you ever done a video on how your feet, knees, and hips turn, and what position they should be, on the backswing? I've been told the right butt cheek should turn and move towards the target while taking the club back, in order to counterbalance the arms moving the opposite direction. If not, I'd love to see one.

    Watched all your videos and they’ve helped a lot. Recently got regular access to a trackman and I found my club head speed is roughly the same from 60 degree all the way to 6 iron (roughly 78 mph). Any idea what could be causing that? It’s weird and I wasn’t expecting it. If it helps, ball speed on 60 degree is 80 and for 7 iron is 118. Thanks in advance

    Hey Shawn,
    The first half of this video emphasizes basic way of thinking and focusing over the ball to getting you next level with the driver.
    You recently did a cack-handed chipping video with Mu and made mention of Matt Fitzpatrick chipping this way. Other pros practice this way such Vijay Singh that I read he has been doing since he was 13 years old. A top college player, Patrick Welch has played crack-handed for his full swing from when he first started playing as a kid and looks to have a bright future.
    I have a request🙂. Can you do a full swing video at some point with lead hand low with irons and driver? I think this would be interesting to see how you would approach this, get your point of view on what this does anatomically, swing measurable data comparisons, etc. Maybe you could create a competition to see who can drive the ball the farthest between you, Sav and Mu🙂
    I have used your perpetual motion drill switching hands (conventional grip and lead hand low), as I have always been somewhat ambidextrous. Lead hand low seems to prevent my wrists from buckling or flipping through impact zone when striking a ball, which is an issue I have seen many amateur golfers struggle with.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Рік тому

      thank you for the great suggestion! will definitely give it some thought!

    • @RWCARC
      @RWCARC Рік тому

      @@golflessons Cool… additionally, I putt left hand low and plan to incorporate cack-handed from within 100 yards of the green into my game after practicing this method for a few years now.
      I am not sure beyond 100 yards and up to the driver though. So figured I would put this question out to you to get your insight as it’s not obvious to me at this time if the full cack-handed swing breaks down somewhere, at least in my swing. It tends to promote cutting across the ball to create fades and slices in the short time I have been playing around with it. Who knows, maybe it becomes my fairway finder on those dogleg right shaped holes🙂

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Рік тому +2

      This is what happens when you look to much into geometric perfection vs what drives an individual human machine with their own perfect imperfections. When I throw the club in the direction of the target, the arms shallow out and OMG, THE CLUB FACE MAGICALLY LOOKS SQUARE HALF WAY DOWN!! It is because of the upward levitation of the arms that the club face APPEARS OPEN. Yet my average side spin with the 7 iron is 1000 spin left. Very sneaky indeed! 😝😝

      This is for fairway finders with lots of club speed and to show the contrast with mine; the vast majority of golfers will benefit more from my approach and the approach Mu does in Long Drive competitions; but when you show Mu a fairway, he goes into play mode and starts flighting down.
