Your MOM is FUNNY, I LIKE HER sense of humor!!! The VIDEO was not long at all, it was very informative. You're AWESOME RACHEL, and Thank You for all your HARD WORK!!!
This is a very thorough and comprehensive review, Rachel! It answers so many questions a DJ (or anyone for that matter) might ask if he/she were in the market for a solar generator. You obviously did your homework, my hat’s off to for yet another complete and thoughtful review! I own both a Jackery and a Bluetti solar generator…I completely agree with your pros and cons of the Jackery…one option your viewers MIGHT consider would be the Bluetti EB3, which does check off some of the boxes the Jackey lacks…with the Bluetti, you get the better battery composition (Lithium Iron Phospate), which can as much as triple the useable cycles, has the folding handle, has two outlets rated at 600 watts, and has a 100 watt USB-C port. Additionally, the screen is MUCH more informative, showing both input and output in watts, time remaining to charge AND discharge, and the plug is simply a standard plug WITHOUT the large wall wart. Not to mention the charge time on the Bluetti is 1 hour to 80%. No, I’m definitely NOT a Bluetti rep, just wanting to add my 2 cents for your viewers. Not sure if I should add this, but they are available at Amazon for $219 right now with their $80 off coupon. Thanks again as always for a great review and have a great 2023 season!
I was going to chime in this as well. Ray is correct. Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) has is the way to go. They also handle hot and cold temperatures much better as well. The jackery is a fantastic battery, but if you ever consider purchasing a new one later down the road, I recommend getting something with LiFePO4 batteries. Great review Rachel!😮
I have an event coming up with the ceremony near the water, far away from barn where the reception is. I also have the 30M and will be paring with two shure SLX-D lapel mics. This review has confirmed my thought to purchase the jackery. Thank so much.
Rachael, this was an awesome review! The whole time I was waiting for you to hook two EV 50’s. Thank you for this awesome review. Based on your findings with the Jackery 550 I believe it’s safe to say two EV 50’s, mixer, and maybe a Chauvet LED tripod light could easily be supplied enough power from the 1500 Jackery for 6 - 8 hours! I use a predator 3500 because it’s whisper soft at 57 decibels with correct positioning it’s usable for ceremonies. However, I love the idea and silence of the Jackery. Thank you again for your insightful review. You absolutely amaze this 40 year veteran dj. 😊❤️
Thanks so much for checking this out. I appreciate your time. The 1500 would absolutely be enough to run that. I don’t know for how long but it wouldn’t turn off like mine did.
Great video. I've been running battery packs for a couple years now, LOVE them!. I have (mostly) Bluetti packs with Lithium-Iron-Phosphate batteries (much safer than Li-Ion, and 3000+ cycles vs 500 like the Jackery). 300w inverter will easily run a single speaker for wedding ceremonies. Bluetti EB70S (800w inverter) ran 2 RCF J8, 1 QSC CP8, 1 Senn wireless, Behringer Flow8 mixer for 2 hours outside - had 70-80% battery remaining. I always have at least one with me now on every gig, and usually bring a few to be sure.
Great presentation, especially your mothers part. I did a lot of research and I'm getting ready to make a purchase. However I am choosing a little more expensive battery that incorporates what they call Lifepro4 for the battery composition. Yes it's more expensive but the difference is, it doesn't lose its charge in cold weather, and let's you recharge it up to 5m times. Bluetti is the manufacturer. Great job Rachel!
Sounds like a GREAT option! I snagged this because it was on sale and it’s been great. I may consider a larger one in the future. Appreciate your time! Enjoy your Bluetti!
Thank you for the review, I actually just bought a Jackery Explorer 1000 and a 1500 Pro These will strictly used for my off site ceremonies. It’s nice to see what the 500 can do and was pleasantly surprised
Me too! I was very surprised what it was a capable of! These are definitely the right move. So glad you’re enjoying your Jackery units. The 1500 pro is serous. 💯👊🏻
Excellent video. Just as you, I also own a Jackery but the 300 model for ceremonies. I don't have a evolve 30m though, but rather the EV verse8 battery powered speaker. For the ceremony right, I have a case with a furman, (2) Shure ULXD mic receivers and a rane mlm 42s mic/line mixer. Before picking up the 300, I decided to try the 1000 model as I thought it would be helpful to have a larger battery in the "just in case" scenario but it was a bit much. The 1000 is heavy, bulky and way overkill. For ceremonies, the jackery 550 or 300 model is definitely a game changer and totally worth it. Again, great job with the video. Your videos are so awesome.
I’m considering a larger one if the future to be able to run my entire setup as a backup but the 550 is more than enough for ceremony and cocktail hour! Thanks so much for watching!
@@DJRachelLynch Very cool. The 1000 would definitely power your entire sound system, but remember, it is going to be bulky and heavy to carry around :). Do you find that in the places you do parties have issues with power? In thinking out loud, I guess powering a whole sound system would be good for outside events which would make sense.
Great video, thanks. So, for my ceremony setup I use small metal fold out booth with white panels, a JBL Eon Pro speaker, A Denon Prime GO and a battery pack to run my Shure dual mic. Works great and can be placed just about anywhere. I've been using it for the past couple of years. I have been thinking about getting a Jackery battery as an emergency backup but never knew which one to get. Thanks again.
DJ Rachel, thanks once again for doing the work for us. I think I'll be grabbing the 1500 or 2000 Pro just in case. And after seeing how well the 500 performs I believe the heavy price tag will be well worth it. Also, hats off to your mom for having a great sense of humor when it comes to your torturing her with hours of ceremony music. LOL!
The 1500+ is a good move if you’re looking to power a full setup. Also check out some other brands, you may find something similar at a better price or different features you like. I grabbed this because it was light weight and on sale. My mom is a damn saint. 😂😂 Love her though. She’s a tough cookie. Thanks for your time to each and kindness. I appreciate it.
Great video! I just got my Jackery and haven’t even used it yet. I was also going to be a nerd and do the same kinds of tests ! Thanks for doing it for me lol. I didn’t think it would be able to power the 50, great to know. I got the 500 and I think 550 is just a Home Depot lowes Version of the 500
Nice! You’re gonna dig it! That makes sense… I was wondering why I couldn’t find the 550 on the Jackery website! 😂🤦🏼♀️ I thought I lost my damn mind. Good to know!

Great review. We have the same model and love it. Mainly for ceremonies and as a backup to charge other devices on the go like iPhones, GoPro, and our rode mics.
Yeah. I got this just for my ceremonies or cocktail hour needs, but it’s also great for those emergencies or odd jobs too. Definitely a GREAT tool for the tool box.
Great video Rachel love the info you provided. I myself looking to add this to my equipment. I currently have Mackie thump go and I simply bluetooth my ceremony and cocktail hour to my iPad with special Playlist. I like the jackery to be able to add a j8 if I need to.
I am ready to try a system with a lithium battery such as the Jackery. In the past I mostly used a small portable 2000 watt gas generator for outdoors. It has worked out well and I will probably still use it for big events such as an outdoor family reunion and the like. You have to fill it with gas that stinks. Also it is noisy and larger than a battery. I figure I can also use a battery system for the football tailgates that I go to. It's just 4 of us at the tailgates so I don't need much of a system. Perhaps 1 top and 1 sub ... or just 2 tops. I can see a battery system handling this. I can also take a speaker to the beach which I have done in the past using an AGM battery and an inverter. Those batteries only last half as long as a lithium and they weigh twice as much and only last a few years. I will probably start with something like a 500 watt Jackery. That should handle two speakers for 5 hours.
I'd be all about using a maui, etc...but i'm into the tripod based battery-powered speakers for 2 reasons...1. mounting the wireless receivers on top and up high gives you better reception and 2. you can use a tripod stand with adjustable 3rd leg to level uneven services. Surprised more DJ's don't find themselves on uneven ground more for ceremonies like I do (lawns, slight hills, etc). An evolve just wouldn't work...and you'd be mounting wireless much lower
Honestly, I do sooooooo many outdoor events and wedding ceremonies. Uneven ground has never been an issue for my 30M. I do have a Gator Frameworks ID speaker pole that has an extender leg for uneven surfaces if needed but it’s never been a problem for me. I think I’ve used it twice for that reason in the last 5 years. My EVERSE 8 has the mic base on top with their shelf. It’s an awesome feature! Line of site is super beneficial as you said. 👍🏻This was a very smart design. Right now my 30M is my main ceremony unit and putting the mic on the 3D printed shelf near the top of the pole has worked out great. I scan my EV RE3 mics each gig and have never had a drop out. Tremendous mics. There are a million ways to do this job and I love seeing what others do. I’m always happy to share ideas and solutions. Not everything will work for everyone and that’s cool! One of these units is also great for photos booths, printers, projector monograms, satellite speakers, emergency backup, and a bunch of other things. Definitely worth having in the tool box.
As always, great video!!!!!! Very impressive little battery. I purchased the Everse 8 based off your recommendation. Do you think this battery could run a QSC ks112 sub to pair with the everse 8?
Appreciate your time to watch. You’ll need to look at the specs of the sub vs the Jackery you’re looking to get. I’d always recommend giving yourself some buffer room with the draw.
DJ Rachel once again you have succeeded in making me spend money. Lol😂😂😂. I purchased a battery called Bluette 800…. I just got it today but it easily powered up a QSC 112 Sub. I would imagine it can even power the QSC 181. Paired with the Everse 8 I should be in good shape. Thanks again for the idea!!!!!
I do a lot of gigs for a park district. Almost all the gigs I do for them they want my generator. It’s very quiet as an inverter generator but last event it died 4 times. Fortunately it was unnoticed by the client but made me want to look into another option. I have a 350W battery and I was surprised it would run my Bose Pro32 and Sub2 without an issue. I found in amazon a 1000Wh for $400. We’ll see how it goes but should run my whole rig. My generator pulls 600-700W when running pair of Pro32’s, 4 Sub2’s and my photobooth with printer.
I wonder if the 1500 to run t2 EV 50 and 1 550 to run the mixer, laptop, and led lights would give you a 6-7hour party's worth of power. Thank you for this video and the great ideas. Now I need a solution for my big setup. 4 ev ext-18sp, 6 EV Zxa-5 :)
Great video! what portable battery would you recommend for djing dance studios (between 5 to 8 hr sessions) with a combined 2400 watt of dj equipment? Thanks keep up the great work DJ Rachel
The answer is, no. This is NOT ok to bring on an airplane. Under FAA regulations, you are not allowed to take any battery exceeding 100Wh onto a plane. They made this very clear in the manual. 🙂
Using an EV evolve 50 single column. You think the 550 would still do the trick w/ an XDJ-XZ? That's literally my entire busking setup. Or should I bump it up to the 880 or the 1000? edit: Next time I'll just keep watching the video 😑
Hello, i have 3 power subs 18s electro voice, 4 power tops Electro-Voice And some lighting 2 tripods Which dockery should give me good covered for good 5 hours 800, 1000 or 1500
I was set on getting the Jackery 550 because of the size and cost until I read so many reviews that it shuts off when the speaker bass kicks in. I have 2 QSC speakers, 1 laptop, and a DDJ 1000 so I think a Jackery 800 or 1000 would be better.
Yes, it will shut off as shown and explained in this video if you have too much draw. With what you’re trying to run on it, you’d need the 1,000W or higher depending on how long you need to run it and how hard you push it. The 550 is good for ceremony and cocktail hour systems as shown.
@@DJRachelLynch After so much research I end up going with Ecoflow Delta 2 which has 1024Wh and an output of 1800W. I learned that Jackery are out of date and don't last long.
@@djaztec97 as mentioned in the video they aren’t using the latest battery technology, but they still offer they one of lightest power banks on the market, which was important to me. That’s why I went with Jackery. There are a ton of good options out there! So glad you found one you love. Enjoy. ☺️
@@DJRachelLynch I'm aware you mentioned it in the video. Not telling you buy but check out the Ecoflow Delta 2 or River Pro 2. For the same price, you get 1024Wh with 1800W output. Comes with an app and the battery technology lasts longer. If you want something lighter, then River Pro 2. I was one click away from getting a Jackery.
Rachel, you are a great dj and a fantatstic teacher! I'm hoping you can help me because if I remember, you did a video on using a built in sample (I think you used the Virtual DJ Bass Drum Sample) to "beef up" older tracks and also use as a transition between 2 songs. If so, how do you match the tempo of the sample with the songs? I'm sure there is an easy way but I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance for your help.
The instrument sample will play at the same tempo as the Master Output. Right Click or Alt Click the instrument sample and open it in sample editor to see what it's set up as. If it’s “Looped” and “sync start” it immediately syncs to the beat of the current song.
I have 2 Altos TS408 2000 Watts 900 Watts continuos each 8 inch powered speakers, Casio PX560 keyboard, Alesis SR18 drum manchine and a Yamaha MG06X mixer...Do I need the Jackery Explorer 140, 240, 300, 550 or the 1000 for my setup...I called Jackery and was told that the 1000 model will not support 2 altos 2000W each...thanks for yor help. The answer is, it depends, as explained in the video. It depends on what gear you are connecting. It depends on the power consumption of that gear. It depends how hard you’re pushing it. It depends how long you’re running it for. Temperature and battery health can also affect run times. Also shown in the video, I was not able to run a full 2 speaker system for very long at party volume.
There is no way for me to answer this accurately. It depends on the number of lights and how much power they draw. You should add up the power consumption of the equipment you wish to connect.
Impossible for me to answer without knowing… The specs of what you’re running. How hard you’re pushing it. How many things you have drawing off of it. The temperature you’re running it in. Etc. If you know the power consumption of what you’re running, you’ll be able to do the equation to figure out a good estimate. Jackery’s website has it available. I don’t math well. 😂
I mean that’s essentially what I did. I don’t need an entire power strip. The 3 plug add on is perfect. But yeah, I use it all the time and it’s been fine. 🙂💯
Of course there are other brands. Nobody suggested otherwise. There are LOTS of choices, so buy what you want or like. I never suggested not to consider other brands like Bluetti or Ecoflow. I even said in the video that Jackery doesn’t use the latest battery technology. This video is simply to speak to my experience with a PURCHASE I MADE and help people make informed decisions. No need to be rude or make false accusations. 🤷🏼♀️ I literally show my Home Depot receipt of what I PAID for this. I only went with this version/brand because it was on sale (as you CLEARLY saw). #notsponsoredbyjakckery 🙄
It depends. It depends how hard you’re pushing it. It depends how long you need it to run for. It depends what the actual draw of the speakers you are using is. It depends what the draw of the controller is. It depends what the draw of the lights you’re using are is. You can do the math yourself by looking up the individual power needs of the items you’re using.

This was super helpful! Thanks
Glad it was helpful! ☺️
Excellent review
Thanks for posting.
Have liked and subscribed 👍😎💭🎶
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for your like and subscribe! If you check out my latest gig log you’ll see how this Jackery almost saved the day!
HALO Bolt is a cheaper option as well.
I have a Halo Bolt. The power doesn't seem to last long. I use it to power smaller items (or start my car once 😂) as opposed to my ceremony rig.
Great idea using smart plugs to automatically charge devices.
It’s convenient!
Mama Rachel 😂. Good stuff Thx for review
Thanks for watching! 😂❤
To calculate it, do 500÷150 output = 3.3 hours. For the 2 smaller speakers, I saw 500÷90 output= 5.55 hours.

Appreciate you! Thanks for stopping by.

Awesome video
Thanks for your time to stop by the channel. 🙂
Awesome work always.. killawatt. Must have to check amps used
I use the Pecron P600. It was under $400 and 2 outlets. I think I am going to get the 1500 watt one it about $700
How heavy is it?
@DJ Rachel the 1500 watt is 25 lbs it also let's you know how long it will go with the load you are running
The new Pecron 1500WH charges in 1hr. And half the price of the Jackery.. I have the older Pecron 1500WH and it charges in 3hrs.. and 2 Pecron 600.
Excellent 🎉🤟😘🤗😍🎧🦋
Thanks ✌️
Thinking getting this. Go to my local pub and use their electric to charge it .
Evolves work great for ceremonies.

@@DJRachelLynch Totally...have one. ALways need it once or twice a year. I'm always on uneven ground it seems!
I use the Pecron 1500WH and 2 Pecron 600WH.. They charge my whole DJ system and all 3 battery charges in 3hrs.
It’s easy math. Just look at the specs and add up the total watts draw. 👍🏻
Great video! what portable battery would you recommend for djing dance studios (between 5 to 8 hr sessions) with a combined 2400 watt of dj equipment? Thanks keep up the great work DJ Rachel
All the major brands make larger units to handle larger demands. Jackery, Duracell, Bluetti etc.
Great video. So this can power a Bose L1 speaker for a good 7 hours full power?
Just ordered a Jackery Explorer 1000Pro. Price on Prime Day was close to what the 550 runs any other time. Overkill?
Not overkill. 🙂Sounds like you got a killer deal!
I wonder how this would work for turntables/vinyl dj's
One thing to consider is if the unit can be be shipped with your gear on airlines
😉
You Mom is the Best 😂

Hello,
i have 3 power subs 18s electro voice, 4 power tops Electro-Voice
And some lighting 2 tripods
Which dockery should give me good covered for good 5 hours
800, 1000 or 1500
I was set on getting the Jackery 550 because of the size and cost until I read so many reviews that it shuts off when the speaker bass kicks in.
Hey, You ever think of using the Street heart wireless system?
I’m very happy with my Sennhesier units. Spent a lot of money on them so that’s what I use. 🙂
That’s what you use?
@@DJRachelLynch you are the best- THANK YOU!
To power my RCF evox 12 (1400 watts), should I get the Marxon 1800w power station..
Hi mi friend , goog morning 😍

I’d listen to Jackery. 😉 It also depends on how long you need to run it and how hard. I use my Jackery for one 1000W speaker and a mic base.
you found the 500W model to work long enough for your events? i was thinking i would need at least the 1000w power station.
Would this be good to power lights for about 8 hrs for indoor carshows?
There is no way for me to answer this accurately. It depends on the number of lights and how much power they draw. You should add up the power consumption of the equipment you wish to connect.
@@DJRachelLynch 16 lights, 4 ft light bars 20watts each
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 thanks 🙏
How long do you think the 1000 or 1500 would run for?
Impossible for me to answer without knowing…
The specs of what you’re running.
How hard you’re pushing it.
How many things you have drawing off of it.
The temperature you’re running it in.
Etc.
If you know the power consumption of what you’re running, you’ll be able to do the equation to figure out a good estimate. Jackery’s website has it available. I don’t math well. 😂
If you want more AC plugs, Rachel just use a power strip on the main power. Problem solved.
I mean that’s essentially what I did. I don’t need an entire power strip. The 3 plug add on is perfect. But yeah, I use it all the time and it’s been fine. 🙂💯
One thing I fear is going thru the battery during a session
That shouldn’t be an issue if you buy the appropriate size and output for the task.
Rachel just hates sockets
Don’t we all. 🙃
#SponseredByJackery, other brands are available....
What about doing it with 2 speakers like rcf evox j8 some lights controller ect could you run a full system for 5-6 hours
