Elvis was, and still is, fire. No one like him.
He was incredible from day one.
Just like Duane said, i never appreciated Elvis. He was just someone my aunt liked. It was only this year that i started realizing that he may be the coolest, and also that’s some great rock ‘n’ roll
You are 100% right!!!
Scotty Moore was the guitarist in this video, one of the best guitarists of his time. He actually worked and played with Elvis throughout most of Elvis's young career. He was the guitarist is Elvis's first hit record, "That's all Right Mama" and was present in the vast majority of Elvis's most critical and famous songs of the 1950s and even early 1960s. They worked together again in the 1968 comeback special. However, that was the last time they ever saw each other. Scotty Moore really became famous because of Elvis, but is often thought of as playing a critical role in the development of Rock n Roll music right along the side of Elvis.
Elvis was incredible his voice and his dance make the ladies crazy thank you for the video so we can enjoy watching
Great reaction. That was the studio released Hound Dog with the Milton Berle Show video. You can hear the song better but in the Regular Milton Berle video you can hear the crowd reaction and Elvis surprises his band by doing a reprise at half speed that is a must see. Also, Elvis has a fantastic performance of Hound Dog on the Ed Sullivan Show episode from 1956.
💯
I agree. I call the half speed version the strip tease version.🤣
That performance is what set everything off and drew out all the haters as well as the mostly younger fans. When he surprised his band and everyone But continuing it at half speed, it almost turns into a burlesque striptease kind of thing, and I love it. He's always been so unpredictable and therefore he is always had to have the best musicians around him that can deal with that in real time, which is the mark of a really good musician.
Beautiful reaction. So cool to see younger people discovering Elvis. Every Elvis fan will tell you there are three videos that are a must watch. If I Can Dream, which you already reacted to, Trying To Get To You, and Bridge Over Troubled Water. All are epic.
Loving your ELVIS reactions!❤ Thank you
This performance was so controversial at the time, caused lots of trouble for Elvis. It’s hard to understand because he and the band, and Milton Berle were having such a good time! Guitar-Scotty Moore, drums-DJ Fontana, bass- Bill Black. Background singers-the Jordanaires. All of them played with Elvis in his early movies, Love Me Tender, but especially in Loving You, Jailhouse Rock, and King Creole. All absolutely superb.
If you combine cool and smooth you get my friend Elvis. We were friends for 10 years up until his death. His death hit me very hard i still cry a lot because i miss him more than i can express. thank you for loving his music and everything that was my E. awesome reaction sweetie love from the one and only Memphis Tn.
He was, and still is...The Man...The King
Sorry, bro. Wrong video. The right version is Milton Berle Show. Greetings from Chile.
Keep diving into Elvis! He was the GOAT for a reason! Incredibly talented singer, performer and so good looking! He's loved til this day by millions young and old!
That's Elvis' first band. Scotty Moore on guitar, Bill Black on slap bass and DJ Fontana on drums.
Elvis got that unduplicated grit!!
Thanks for the great reaction! I love to watch people discover Elvis and fall in love! I lived through all this music and it is such a blessing to have grown up with old school music.
He started in his early days with Scotty Moore (guitar), Bill Black (standup bass), D.J.Fontana (drums). The aaahs and the clapping are 'The Jordanairs ' which Elvis asked to join him. He loved to see this Gospel Quartett live.
This was the studio version of 'Hound Dog'. You got to see him live. Milton Berle or Ed Sullivan show is worth watching.
I'd like to see you dance!
Thank you for staying with Elvis!💚🌞
@Marion
Thanks for saving me from writing the answer :)))
I love your Elvis reactions. You are such a kind young man :)))
I`ve been an Elvis fan for decades. As a teenager, I`ve been listening to his early music. My love for his early Sun Record recordings hasn`t faded a bit. With time I added more and more of the later Elvis music. Elvis has something for every mood and that`s one more thing I love about him.
Scotty Moore (genius guitarist) was such a wonderful, quiet, and humble character.
He died in 2016. Bless his soul.
Thank you!
Elvis was the first performer to use drums as part of the band. After that everybody wanted drums.
There is actually another video of this particular performance that is not edited, and at the end, Elvis unexpectedly slowed it down, and his band didn’t know he was going to do it, they kind of look at each other, but they never miss a beat
This version was the audio of the record pasted over the video. That's why it's so short. The original real performance was historic for how the adult TV audience responded to the full physical presentation.
Scotty Moore is juste epic in this video, juste as Elvis is.
The king.
I love to watch your Elvis Reactions. You can never go wrong with any of this songs.
Love all if his live performances! Ty!
Great reaction. Elvis was 🔥 in all of his music. Glad to see young people getting to enjoy his 🎼. Please continue. Thank you 😊
Scotty Moore, guitar
DJ Fontana, drums
Bill Black, stand up bass
This clip was taken from Elvis’ performance on the Milton Berle Show. This is not the entire performance, it has been cut short and you don’t hear the crowd reaction either. Look up Elvis, Hound Dog, Milton Berle Show, June 1956, to get the full effect! Believe me, you won’t regret it!
I agree - the version with the live crowd reaction is worth it!!
Scottie Moore on the guitar and was a good friend of his all the way through to his death even though they quit playing together sometime in the early sixties. Check out the 1968 Comeback Special to see him reunited with Scottie and others, except for the stand up bass player Bill Black who died really early on. DJ Fontana was his drummer back then before the amazing Ronnie Tutt in the later years. Elvis always had the best people around him.
I love love love Elvis. I went to a tiny elementary school in a very rural area in the 1970s, and every day at recess we'd have music playing on a crappy little cassette player. We all took turns bringing our parent's cassettes to school to listen to. By the time I got to middle school, I knew every word to every song from Elvis, the Beatles, the Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, etc. Hearing any of those songs takes me instantly back to practicing crazy dance moves on the playground. 😊
You should definitely be dancing during these reactions. Not everyone will admit to it, but well all be dancing along with you. 😂
So this is the Milton burle show in 56 . This is the performance that caused uproar . Now the video is correct but it's been dubbed with the original recording . The ending has been cut because of the dubbing of the original song .
At the end of the song elvis continues into a 1 min blusey number of hound dog and the band follow . Check out this performance with the original audio of the show with extra content . Scotty moore ,,Bill Black DJ fontana were elvis original band from 54
DJ Fontana said they had no idea that Elvis was gonna slow the song down at the end and do the exaggerated gyration. They just followed him. He normally just ended the song…
Give me Elvis morning noon and night then I’ll be feeling all right
Elvis Presley - An American Trilogy (Aloha From Hawaii, Live in Honolulu, 1973)
Elvis "If I can't move, I can't sing" . . .
Loving the Elvis reactions! 😍 A few to check out: Suspicious Minds - Live in Las Vegas 1970, Trying to Get to You - '68 Comeback Special, and American Trilogy - Aloha From Hawaii.
Yes, this is not live, but a remix, try to find the original live version on the Milton berle show
Great pick bro
I just got some good sleep and now I’m starting the day vibing with the king with you
Hotty ..talented ..just gorgeous love it thanku so much amazing reaction much love an God bless always x
The Ed Sullivan Show version is actually fun due to all the screaming and Elvis’s personality.
Another Awesome reaction my man! 🔥🔥🎤🎵🤜🤛
Love your comments. Please do reaction on
* Elvis and the Black community. Lots of info about Elvis
* Heartbreak hotel ( Comeback Special 1968. Sitting version. You see more of his personality and he forgot the lyrics. The standing version is also GREAT.
* Polk Salad Annie ( Live in Las Vegas 1970)
* Suspicious minds ( Live in Las Vegas 1970)
* All shook up( Frank Sinatra show 1960. First appearance after return from army)
* You've lost that loving feeling( Live in Las Vegas 1970)
Steamroller blues ( Aloha Special 1973)
* Trouble( Both 1958 and Comeback Special 1968. Both great but what a difference.
If you watch closely you will see him on hos toes. Matter of fact, watch I've got a feeling...Elvis & MJ
Cool man the lead guitarist is Scotty moore has been with elvis for ever from 1954 to the 1968 comeback special
That is lengendary Scotty Moore. He was with Elvis on day one of recording in 1954
I just realized Elvis does the move on his toes that he holds ....Michael Jackson got that move from Elvis!!! 😮
Any so called heavy music sounds lullaby after this!!!❤🇫🇮
This is mind blowing.
I pray life gets easier for you baby
Hi from Dublin Ireland long live the king
Keep it running.
Do you know the history of Elvis's version of Hound Dog? He didn't particularly like the song -- he didn't _dislike_ it, either -- he thought it was a "silly" song. He even said so onstage more than once. In July 1956 he went into the recording studio to record Don't Be Cruel as an "A" side single. The "B" side of the single was supposed to be a song called Any Way You Want Me. But Elvis's version of "Any Way" was so good, RCA decided that should be released as an "A" side single, too. So he needed a "B" side for Don't Be Cruel. A couple months earlier, while in Las Vegas, he heard Freddy Bell and the Bellboys version of the song and loved it. And that's how maybe the most famous rock-n-roll song of all time became the "B" side of one rock's all time classic songs.
💋iloveyou ⚘ ⚘⚘
Please, if you haven't already, could you react to American Trilogy? It's a longer one, and brings a tear to my eye everytime I hear it!
This was from way back in the 50's before Elvis went into the army
I'll subscribe to see you dance an imitation of Elvis. What fun.
Watch him due same song on the Milton Berle show Amazing!!
Yes ,ain’t he a joy to watch !😍
But there’s a piece missing ,in this video clip, the best part. And that is the slow dance moves, that he did at the end . These moves were so upsetting to the public, that he was only showed from the waist up ,after that . That did’nt stop him though...😂Please react to that part.
The Milton Bearle show version (the uncut) is the best version.

Elvis the pelvis is in the house...lol
My reply is concerning Lynette's oppinion. Incredible from the very start and then straight to eternety!!!
next show they would only film from the waist up
Imagine in a world of Perry Cuomo ,Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Appears this Atomic Bomb like nothing you ever saw it must have been mind blowing and it was!

Footage of live version, but sound is from studio. Try to find the one from Milton show.
I am new here so I went through some of your videos and I would love to hear and see your reaction to "Jonny Lang" Lie to Me or Wander This World some other songs as well you can pick if you want. Next some "Thin Lizzy" Old school songs like Renegade and Whiskey in a jar O. I hope you get around to my request and you find some fun and enjoyment in doing so. Back to checking out more of your videos. 🎶🎶🎶❤️😄
Elvis rubberneckin from change of habit please
I'm gonna request one that I don't think you got into yet if u did just ignore 😅 Suspicious Minds..Vegas 1970..it's a fun one..Thanks !✌️
Same hound dog song on te Milton Berrel TV show was slightly different and in a lit of ways better. Thank you.
Scotty Moore played the guitar
please do a stand up reaction.
you missed the end finish bit.😅
Don’t react to Blue Suede Shoes until you can do a standup reaction. You gonna need a lot of room. 😂
This is the studio version. You need to check out his live television performances instead of this fan made garbage.
Michael Jackson took some of his dance moves from Elvis ….. the standing on the tip of his toes movement, is one MJ used, as well as others. None of Elvis’ dance moves were choreographed. He just moved as the music made him move. He said if he couldn’t move, he couldn’t sing. Movement came very natural to him when he was singing.
The version from the milton berle show is way better, on this version ed sullivan wouldnt let him dance much
You stopped it roo soon. The slowed down version followed which was great. The musicians later said that they had never practiced it and why did he do it. He replied that they followed him, so there was no problem. Elvis was ripped apart for that by the press.
Wrong music for the live version
Scotty Moore’s on the guitar, Elvis always had the best of the best! This is actually right before they censored Elvis from the waist down
Wrong video bro
Interesting fact: Elvis enjoyed doing this song at his live shows in the mid 50s. However, it was a different story when he tried to capture the track in the studio. It took him 31 takes before he recorded the take he was happy with, for the song’s master take.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Seems like everyone wants you to react to the REAL Elvis’ Hound Dog on the Milton Berle Show. I agree …. so I found the link for you, which includes the skit with Elvis before he sings. Pretty amazing! m.ua-cam.com/video/cAEruhuQENM/v-deo.html
