- Here is the fuel pump on Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000...
If that link stops working let me know.
This video shows everything you need to know about replacing or fixing the fuel pump on your Toyota Solara. It is pretty much the same thing with all the Toyota Cars. The Avalon, Camry, Es3000, Carolla, the pump is located under the back seat. This particular model is the 2000 Toyota Solara. A lot of mechanics will recommend replacing your fuel pump every 100,000 miles as a preventative maintenance type thing... But Ive seen cars go over 200,000 miles with a single fuel pump. It's mostly personal preference.

Oh my god you're one of my favorite tech tubers!!!!! I can't believe I'm having to watch this for my own fuel pump!
He not only disassembles phones, he does certain car repairs! Who knew!
Of all people doing a how to video I didn’t expect to see it from jerry.
I'm learning ! Thanks for the video instruct!
I have a Camry with an identical set up. FYI. I dont know if you know but The mesh like filter is not the actual fuel filter. It , at least on my car is located by the battery. Great vid I wish it was around before I had to do work in the gas tank. Thnx
Very helpful thanks for recording it
super helpful thanks!
Thank you jerry for the great video tutorial! Hi from Draper!
Thanks for the vid. Did it sputter when at lights or low low idle and did the check engine come on for a bit after ?
Thank you!
Hello . I am going to change fuel pump on my toyota rav4 2.4 engine 2006. Which brand do you recomend to buy?? Thank you
Hi i am about to attempt this repair on my 01 camry. Did you have to mess with the small bit of hose that comes in the kit, i was going to get the kit and denso pump. it has two small clamos and a bit of hose included.
To be honest, I wasnt quite sure what that hose did. But... My fuel pump is still working... so it must not be too important. If you figure out something that I dont know be sure to come back and tell me so I can include it in the video.
Jesusmuzik Most cars have redundant systems. The fuel filter for the pump is more for keeping the pump from constantly malfunctioning from particulates breaking the actual electronic motor (e.g clogging). The other that your referring to is more for catching particulates from the rest of the fuel system. My toyota 20 something almost and believing their wont be rust/other things in the rest of the system after that long would be wishful thinking
Very true. Thank you for your comment.
Great video.
Do you have any idea why a 2004 Toyota Solara ( 4 cyl. ) when the ignition key is on ON the fuel pump doesn't prime the fuel for 2-3 seconds as the Haynes Repair Manual said it should ( page 4-3 )? However the pump starts working when the key is on START.
Do you suspect the ECM, the fuel pressure regulator or the fuel pump ? Or something else ?
Thanks.
I think on the Toyota models they all wait until the ignition switch is in the start position before power is applied to the fuel pump. My 2005 Toyota waits until the switch is in the start position. Sometimes service manuals aren't 100% correct.
Awesome
Jerry after 7 years he review car 🚗😂😂😂
Not bad thank you.
Wow UA-cam recommended this video to me 7 years later it was uploaded
Didn’t see the plastic pieces that connect the wires together in the kid did they come in the kit?
Does this fix the p0171 code, i tried everything and still get that damm code.
👍
swapped out fuel pump on 06 toyota solara 6cyl, it didnt prime i never heard the pump make noise, now im looking for fuse under hood or reset button, ugh freakin headache #SOMEBODYHELP
Where is the fuel shut off valve located on a 2000 Toyota solara
What the ongoing price $ for mechanic to replace fpump?
call 3 shops in your area.
why do you didnt replace filter as well while you replace fuel pump ?
Apparently that wasnt the actual fuel filter, I was mistaken. It was just a preliminary filter. And it looked clean enough. The real fuel filter is located farther up under the hood.
@@JerryRigEverything Great Video! I think the BLACK round piece as your Left Pinky finger was touching at 3:07- 3:34 Is The Internal Fuel Filter and the SOCK is just a minor prelim filter. These Engines will also have an External In line Fuel Filter in the engine compartment below the air filter housing box. Thank you for making this video.
But can't go back in to seat to screw down. HELP
It shows how to remove the fuel pump toyota corolla 2000 !!!. Please.ok
Why dont you spend 20 bucks and buy a good pair of crimpers. Not a good way to do electrical connections
this is so sick that you do car repairs too
