The Kremlin say they have stepped up tank production to 100 new tanks per Month, but giver their tendency to exaggerate, it is more likely to be 30 per Month..... If they were able to produce the arms they needed, they wouldn't need to go begging to North Korea.

One has to redefine what a tank is. Recently Russian "tanks" have been found with non working cannons and some had no ammunition at all. I would argue that a working cannon is a key component of what makes a tank a tank and not an armored vehicle.

There are no Russian Tanks that do not store the ammo in the crew area which means if any fire penetrates, the whole tank blows up. So by Modern Definition, the Russians really have NO Tanks.

It's when people start saying 500k dead, which given the size of forces involved, preponderance of artillery and air superiority, would've made this a significantly more lethal conflict than the First World War's Western Front, which seems a dubious prospect. If it were so lethal, pound for pound the conflict would be significantly more lethal than the Great Patriotic War, too, and the Army, any army, would've mutinied by now.
Edit: soldiers as a disposable resource, recovering wou ded. Thus isn't the West in Iraq with medevac helicopters, those would be shot down by short range air defence systems... the Russian medical pipeline, however, I'm not sure how Ukraine's is supposed to be wonderful by comparison when they do not enjoy air ir artillery superiority, and you're at significant risk of getting clapped on a stretcher inside an M113. A single FPV drone will cut through one like a hot knife through delicious butter. I don't know any better way to say this, but just like our Grandfathers in the First and Second World Wars, any conflict where you're being shot at whether you're on your back or not... if you're not bleeding out and able to make it back to a triage station, odds are that you'll live. If you're bleeding and the bleed can't be tied off, stanched in some way, you're in trouble. In the British Army we were taught that if someone drops hit next to you, maybe check for signs of life briefly maybe apply a field dressing but otherwise get moving, there's a job to do and whoever plugged your mate is likely in a position to do the same to you not long afterwards, so get moving. That's when the scales started to fall from the eyes of some other recruits. The code for this was, 'He's having a long sleep' and that's it, move on, not your problem.

I'm thinking they are already using T-62 and even T-55:s. Those turtle tanks. There is no point using a modern tank under that because it doesn't work as a tank then, but old tank is still a tank and can survive more than APC or IFV and can be used clearing mine or two in front of a convoy without losses.

Much like battleships I think tanks have had their day. No longer are they queens of the battlefield. They have endured multiple anti tank innovations from bazzookas to helicopters to AT missiles like Javelin's but now the cost benefit of cheap UAV drones has proved to be their nemesis. Seeing tanks fitted with bedframes welded to them bemoans the fact they are really struggling to cope. The doctrines of combined arms of before can't seem to deal with the lethality and volume of drones 🤔
I do not remember a single media company saying they ran out. We know that 7700 tanks have been destroyed so far, 15k artillery pieces, 15k vehicles and 500,000 soldiers have died, 1.2 million injured, no matter what country you represent, thats a serious loss. add the air crafts and the ships

Because the tanks that can be made running require more extensive work. They will get a decent paint job if needed. Not the same for IFV's and APC's. Because they require no additional armor/ERA packages, or sophisticated night vision. All that is require is that the vehicles are in running condition. They often show up at the front in their faded original Soviet green paint. Sometimes even another shade of green can be seen underneath due rust and exposure. I even saw one BMP-1 that was delivered to the front still having a layer of rust covering most the top of the vehicle.

Nearly ALL their MTB parks show massive reduction in numbers being stored and on the battle field the fact that T90's T80's etc numbers are being seen in less and less numbers. What they have is many old T50 60 models which basically is like putting a cardboard box in the way of a truck hoping it will stop it.
Even trying to manufacture 100 a month as they claim they can, when one is losing 100 to 130 a month its a slow race to having none. Yet when you look at the replacement MTB's they are 90% older out of date models.
So yes they are running out of tanks. Modern tanks. Tanks that actually work. Tanks that still have their crews.
