Funny thing is it’s so easy to rebalance plants, too, but for some reason they’re steadfast on keeping the PVZ1 abilities. Scaredy Shroom - Role compression like Red Stinger, now costs 75 but has half the health of a Wall-Nut and the same damage as a pea long range. To compensate, the recharge is longer. Umbrella Leaf - Mainly used in a 3x3 radius to fend off air ambushes, Imp Cannons, etc. however, it can enclose a protective shield over the plants in the same radius. Now costs about 175 for its versatile usage. Gold Magnet - Collects coins and sun, with recharge being a bit buffed. Prioritizes coins. Now picks up 3 items at a time. Costs about 150 sun for its ability, but is still a lesson on why you shouldn’t bring everything to a loadout. Now I’m personally a nostalgia sucker and don’t always mind old faces. But I feel like we haven’t really gotten any new plants (with the ones we do get being either unbalanced or not new). I guess it’s with the development of PVZ3, so this ‘dry spell’ is probably here to stay for a while.
Honestly, Scaredy-shroom needs buffs like these. I can recall that some people have mentioned that having Scaredy-shroom in PVZ2 would be too OP, and I don't see why. It's a Peashooter who hides when zombies are near, in a game like PVZ2, where every single world has one rusher-type enemy that'd absolutely cripple a Scaredy-shroom focused defense. It wouldn't even be good in Dark Ages where it's terrible firepower and deflectable projectile would make it food for the Jester and Knight Zombies, even in spite of a 25-sun cost.
The dry spell is probably gonna last until this game loses support honestly, if PopCap is banking on PVZ3’s success at least. But yeah, it’s weird how PopCap both does and doesn’t take advantage of reworking and balancing the plants they bring back. Why Scaredy got no changes when Ice-Shroom got a rework? Won’t ever understand
I mean... wouldn't that version of Scaredy-shroom be basically just Pea-nut but worse? Sun isn't really an issue in PvZ2 so 75 vs 150 sun cost doesn't really change much so the only differences left are that Pea-nut has more health and still shoots when zombies get close to it.
one of the ideas I thought of to bring gold magnet back to pvz2 would be for him to shoot a beam of sunlight every time he collected sun, basically a magnifying grass that doesn't spend sun, but with less damage
It's crazy too cause they actually did this in reverse for Gloom Shroom and Ice Shroom too, Gloom Shroom's gimmick of being an adjacent tile attacker was given to Phat Beat and Gloom Vine, and Ice Shroom's effect was turned into Ice Bloom. Like they keep adding returning plants we don't care about but they haven't added cattail which would fit right in as an upgrade to homing thistle that pierces or something because cattail seems so easy to put in pvz2 as a homing thistle upgrade, hell as a plant counterpart to the heath seeker I will say at least doom shroom is a manual explosive which is really cool and at the very least it works differently from its pvz1 counterpart, but other than that it does kind of the same thing, at different growth it does different damages and has different explosion ranges depending on how much it has grown which is at least something unique.
I know this was just four months ago, but they had two new plants and not plants from plants for zombies one. Which hopefully this will make you happy.
the real reason why they have to add these pvz1 plants with different styles and abilities because their abilities wer stolen by new plants like for example: 1.) Scaredy Shroom: almostly due to the function of nightcap hiding, therefore he has same ability like last pvz1 but more powerful due to his pf: imitating his versions in a 3 by 3 area knockbacking zombies 2.) Ice Shroom: Ice Bloom stole his pf ability :the explosion which causes zombies to freeze, therefore he was upgraded to become an instant melee plant who cannot be losed unless the zombie eats it, headbutting by piercing the zombies with its sharp icicles like a blade. 3.) Doom Shroom: Boom Balloon pf exists according to other fans, therefore he was judged here in pvz2 due to his new look the smaller version, but as of now he has an info involving the reason why he was small because right now the size was cropped which makes him a 3 stage plant, and will only be counted as losing a plant by explosion if a zombie tries to eat it just like what happened to the unfinished version of his ability
unless if it gets entirely reworked like ice shroom, i think doom shroom would unironically work in pvz 2, simply because it's basically just a better cherry bomb
Theres actually still a lot of zombies that cant be countered by a specific plant if you dont count instant kills so lets just hope they make the returning plant good like gatling and ice shroom
Why are ya'll so angry about a game being updated? Like literally by that time that you have unlocked this plant, you would already have finished that adventure mode, y'all are just complaining for the sake of it
Am I the only one who thinks PVZ2 has too many plants in general? One of the greatest things in PVZ1 was the fact that almost every plant had a unique gimmick.
While I don't support the fact that popcap keeps bringing back PvZ plants to PvZ2 just for the fanservice, I think this version of Doom-shroom can be interesting. Its a very expensive plant that needs a long time to reach its final form (with a 5x5 high damage explosion) and explodes when touched by a zombie. Its a 400 sun plant you have to spend and defend for a long while if you want its full effect (Otherwise, if a zombie touches it early, it would explode early, making a 1x1 small damage explosion or a 3x3 mid damage explosion). If PopCap doesn't mess up the balance this could be great plant.
The new plants are blaze leaf, and frost bonnet. To me I really hate blaze leaf because first it’s attacks are really bad the plant food but I am so happy they added frost bonnet because after seeing a little tutorial of how he works it’s like mangofier how you can switch between different modes plus the plant food is sick
To be honest there only adding a bunch of mushrooms so were likey getting gloom also to be honest i think doomshroom fits in pvz2 decently well do to how strong he is unlike scardy or sea shroom
We now know what doom shrimp does and it’s not that bad. The only bad thing is that if placed on one of the bottom two lanes the explosion is cut off at the top and also the zombies die way too late compared to the explosion.
I would only be annoyed if they served no point in the game, like objectively speaking Umbrella Leaf and Gold Magnet would still be useless even if they were added in since 2013
I feel like all plants should move from one game up to another, nomater what they do, and Popcap can just change what they do if the game needs it, or just add some zombies to use them. It will make it so you can find a plant you like in a game with less plants, go to the next game then you only have a few new plants that can be better than your old favorate plant. It also just makes it feel like the games arn't in there own seprete universe.
Actually, hear me out, maybe Umbrella Leaf could work. Even though Bungee Zombies aren’t in PvZ2, there could still be use for Umbrella Leaf in other ways. Like maybe it could be used to bounce away lost pilot zombies, octopi, catapult zombie projectiles like in the first game, and maybe it could finally deflect Imps too. Basically any lobbed or fallen projectiles/zombies. It could work.
tbf umbrella leaf would have been so cool to be a lost city plant (counters pilot and relic) and maybe they can also make it a wall plant but eh ig missed opportunity
Honestly, I'm glad they're bringing back the old plants from PvZ1 into PvZ2 even if their gimmicks get changed a bit, that's actually good, otherwise it would look like a copy of a new plant introduced in PvZ2 and that wouldn't be good for the returning plant. Plus despite their return I'm very happy to see more and more brand new plants being discovered in the code as well. So let them bring back all the old plants from Pvz1 into PvZ2 and give them new gimmicks! Shows that they care about listening to the fans and bringing in new plants too! Shit, I'm just happy we're STILL getting new plants, old or not in PvZ2 and not waiting an eternity for PvZ3 to finally be good.
Honestly I completely get this, and tbh I’m happy they’re making new plants too. My issue is that every time they do this, it makes me feel like we’re getting closer and closer to the final plant dropping, because they feel very simple with the main change being the gimmicks and not the faces
sea shrooms really good in arena ngl also im hoping they add umbrella leaf but give her a completeley diffrent mechanic like ice shroom same for gold magnet
I'm still not really seeing the problem outside of some level gimmick plants like Umbrella Leaf & Flower Pot. It's just adding Plants that realistically should have been here to begin w/ & it's expanding the roster & I don't really see the issue unless as long as the plant isn't too gimmick-reliant like Coffee Bean & Plantern.
They should’ve brought back all of the PVZ 1 plants for free in a variety of ways, like with Torchwood’s introductory weekly thing, or through gems, or through EASILY acquirable seeds, or by updating the worlds (I miss you, free Snow Pea, Cattail, and O.G. Grave Buster design).
I would genuinely be hella down for this if they actually took the time to make them cool and redesign them properly instead of just using them as nostalgia bait…
Umbrella Leaf could have worked in PvZ2. The problem is PopCap missed the perfect opportunity to add it. Umbrella Leaf would have been perfect in Lost City, serving as a counter to Lost Pilot Zombie. It could bounce them away like Bungee Zombie in the first game. It could have also served as a counter to Octopus Zombie by bouncing away the Octopi it throws.
On one hand doom shroom could fit rather well in the context of how fast paced this game is. On the other hand doom shroom is basically already in the game so unless they are gonna give it a new function I don’t see the point and if they do give it the ice shroom treatment like you said JUST MAKE IT A NEW PLANT.
@@SylviaYSI in a way, but, they did add Mega Gatling after pvz2c had "regular" gatling for a while so i dont see cob cannon as being completely out of the question
I feel like theyd be good in certain aspects of the core game, like when old plants are in the worlds, but I dont see the point of making a previously adventure plant paid for, especially when its thing is in another new plant already, like iceberg lettuce and ice shroom
My prediction Plantern: will be an attacking plant killing zombies with their light Damage: 200 family: contain mint Recharge: 10 seconds Sun cost: 25 Pf: blinds all zombies for 15 seconds stunning them Flower pot: will be an attacking wall plant like endurian but stronger Damage:90 family spear mint Recharge: 15 Sun cost: 100 Pf: explodes on the spot in a 3x3 spot Gold magnetic: will shoot coins and has a 15% chance to shoot diamonds
i like that they added doom shroom, but if they execute it poorly, dont add it. we dont need the animation or art of the new doomshroom to be ruined imo
NO YOU ARE NOT CRAZY i also questioned the fact that for the balloon plants plant food it spawns a doomshroom. i'm pretty sure it's for more variety or the doom shroom is going to be different. but in pvz1 it killed every zombie on the lawn so im pretty sure balancing/changing it like you said is going to be hard especially not knowing how its gonna affect other bombard class plants and the ballon plants plant food.
I rather have it if you use doom shroom, it nukes all your plants and zombies but hails zombies from attacking for 30 seconds to build up your defense again
The problem isn't that they are being added to the game; the problem is that they haven't been added to the game earlier. (They wouldn't have to change Ice Shroom if it came out before Ice Bloom existed; Scaredy Shroom would be perfect for the Dark Ages, and there is literally no reason for Sea Shroom to not be in Big Wave Beach.) Also, pumpkin being added into the game is valid.
i can see ice shroom but how did they do gatling pea dirty? it got hella buffs from pvz 1 and is now one of the best plants in the game along with pea vine and torchwood
They’d have needed to turn the leaves or something, but honestly yeah it’d have fit the beach vibe well. Considering how PopCap has shown that they’re not afraid to add new plants for that world… could happen.
doom shroom would've actually been useful if it was added since the beginning and before the seed packet unlocking method. but now doom shroom wouldnt be able to compete but would still be S tier plant
How does umbrella leaf not belong when it would be the perfect octo zombie counter. That plant should have been added a decade ago with the release of Big Wave Beach
I hope the final plant just shoots one projectile per account and does nothing forever

the real reason why they have to add these pvz1 plants with different styles and abilities because their abilities wer stolen by new plants like for example:
1.) Scaredy Shroom: almostly due to the function of nightcap hiding, therefore he has same ability like last pvz1 but more powerful due to his pf: imitating his versions in a 3 by 3 area knockbacking zombies
2.) Ice Shroom: Ice Bloom stole his pf ability :the explosion which causes zombies to freeze, therefore he was upgraded to become an instant melee plant who cannot be losed unless the zombie eats it, headbutting by piercing the zombies with its sharp icicles like a blade.
You mean Shadow Peashooter stole Scaredy Shroom's hiding ability.
unless if it gets entirely reworked like ice shroom, i think doom shroom would unironically work in pvz 2, simply because it's basically just a better cherry bomb
Theres actually still a lot of zombies that cant be countered by a specific plant if you dont count instant kills so lets just hope they make the returning plant good like gatling and ice shroom
Real ones are waiting for Coffee Bean
The only bad thing is that if placed on one of the bottom two lanes the explosion is cut off at the top and also the zombies die way too late compared to the explosion.
never thought they would make doom shroom so phallic and give it the greenlight
Doom shroom looks like a goomba from SMB
Even thou he’s a fellow, doom shroom in pvz2, I don’t think he belongs in the doom shroom family,
if every pvz 1 plant was added since the beginning of pvz 2 i think no one would complain about them
I would only be annoyed if they served no point in the game, like objectively speaking Umbrella Leaf and Gold Magnet would still be useless even if they were added in since 2013
You know umbrella leaf would be useful in BWB
I feel like all plants should move from one game up to another, nomater what they do, and Popcap can just change what they do if the game needs it, or just add some zombies to use them. It will make it so you can find a plant you like in a game with less plants, go to the next game then you only have a few new plants that can be better than your old favorate plant. It also just makes it feel like the games arn't in there own seprete universe.
Doom shroom in PvZ 1 :🗿
My issue is that every time they do this, it makes me feel like we’re getting closer and closer to the final plant dropping, because they feel very simple with the main change being the gimmicks and not the faces
tbh if scaredy-shoom had a faster atk rate when zombis got close, he might be good.
They would probably retrain Umbrella Leaf into a better Garlic on top of the original design.
Just pinball bump zombies into different lanes lol.
They kinda had to change the ice shroom because of the iceberg lettuce’s plant food effect
Umbrella leaf is gonna get like 3 interactions that work and 15 that don’t for no reason
It happened to Tall-Nut, it happened to Magnet-Shroom, I don't know why people think it would not happen to Umbrella Leaf
@@LauBauBer I think Tallnut blocks most threats you would expect, Magnet definitely doesn’t though lol
Watch them add Bungee Zombies that only appear in event levels and never make a reappearance ever again
Can't wait for the levelled up gold magnet gameplay
Another reason why they make new is *microtransactions*
sea shrooms really good in arena ngl
also im hoping they add umbrella leaf but give her a completeley diffrent mechanic like ice shroom same for gold magnet
Exactly, but apparently this is too much work for popcap...
(+ now I gotta accept the fact that scaredy shroom looks like piss)
Umbrella Leaf could have worked in PvZ2. The problem is PopCap missed the perfect opportunity to add it. Umbrella Leaf would have been perfect in Lost City, serving as a counter to Lost Pilot Zombie. It could bounce them away like Bungee Zombie in the first game. It could have also served as a counter to Octopus Zombie by bouncing away the Octopi it throws.
At least peashooter is fit for every game!
The funny plantern will be the most OP plant in the pvz 2 when it’s added!!!
i see your point, and to a large degree i agree, however
i wanna see cob cannon again
Mega Cob Cannon
Chinese PVZ2 would make it a little difficult to include, how they’d go about that is beyond me
@@SylviaYSI Mega Cob Cannon
@@SylviaYSI in a way, but, they did add Mega Gatling after pvz2c had "regular" gatling for a while so i dont see cob cannon as being completely out of the question
I feel like theyd be good in certain aspects of the core game, like when old plants are in the worlds, but I dont see the point of making a previously adventure plant paid for, especially when its thing is in another new plant already, like iceberg lettuce and ice shroom
My prediction
Plantern: will be an attacking plant killing zombies with their light
Damage: 200 family: contain mint
Recharge: 10 seconds
Sun cost: 25
Pf: blinds all zombies for 15 seconds stunning them
Flower pot: will be an attacking wall plant like endurian but stronger
Damage:90 family spear mint
Recharge: 15
Sun cost: 100
Pf: explodes on the spot in a 3x3 spot
Gold magnetic: will shoot coins and has a 15% chance to shoot diamonds
i like that they added doom shroom, but if they execute it poorly, dont add it. we dont need the animation or art of the new doomshroom to be ruined imo
8 bit peashooter does nothing😭
I would think Ice Shroom was completely changed because Ice Bloom exists and kinda.. is what Ice Shroom was? As far as I remember at least.
Yeah Sylvia, you were right.....
I rather have it if you use doom shroom, it nukes all your plants and zombies but hails zombies from attacking for 30 seconds to build up your defense again
I would love if Gold Magnet automatically collects sun and plant food for you, not just collecting coins and diamonds
It just feels a little pointless though, because all you need to do is click? I mean idk, maybe it’s just me there that thinks that’s a little goofy 😭
Imagine if they bring back coffee bean for no reason
The only PvZ 1 plant I would want back is Cob Cannon, and maybe Cattail.
Money. For money.
They gotta recoup the costs on PVZ3 somehow, after all
The problem isn't that they are being added to the game; the problem is that they haven't been added to the game earlier. (They wouldn't have to change Ice Shroom if it came out before Ice Bloom existed; Scaredy Shroom would be perfect for the Dark Ages, and there is literally no reason for Sea Shroom to not be in Big Wave Beach.) Also, pumpkin being added into the game is valid.
umbrella leaf could be a spring bean upgrade
Sooo, I agree
And to think, this started with a fucking Gatling pea (not pumpkin since they were added as more of a face for the vine plant)
Umbrella leaf should get added 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Real!!
@@lianneroban9906 and zcorpion too
Honestly if they find a use for it that isn’t just “blocks bungees” I’ll be impressed
@@SylviaYSI don't forget zcorpion
Agree
bro they’re gonna add coffee bean i swear
unless they redesign him, there's no way considering it's in the Chinese version
I'm suprised you didn't expect them to.
Crazy dave’s hat probably fell and hit doomshroom
and what is the reason you hate the update hes in pvz2?
They did my boy ice-shroom and gatling pea dirty...
i can see ice shroom but how did they do gatling pea dirty? it got hella buffs from pvz 1 and is now one of the best plants in the game along with pea vine and torchwood
@@vijaytamishra453is so broken making the game so easy with no difficulty.
Doom shroom gameplay are leaked
I can't describe WHAT THE F**K DID I JUST WATCH
If they wanted to add umbrella leaf, they should have done it in big wave Beach. It could have counter both octo and fisherman zombie
THIS. I wouldn’t really be annoyed by this if it wasn’t at the stage in the game where he literally has no reason to be here 😭
well i actully think umbrella leaf could be really helpfull with imps that gargs throw
How does umbrella leaf not belong when it would be the perfect octo zombie counter. That plant should have been added a decade ago with the release of Big Wave Beach
