agreed!!!! Canada was always running conservative plays. And.....his play calling, was holding back the Steelers Offense, in addition to, Kenny Pickett not yet playing like a franchise QB.
Yes, Canada was the problem the whole time. I really am shocked that we didn’t fire him last year. It seems that the team is much more comfortable under the new system.

Steelers fans, the new offensive coordinator only had 5 days to prepare for this game, and look at the result! Over 400 yards for first time in 3 and a half years. Kenny 24 for 33, 278 yards, his best game this year by far, and he looked more relaxed and confident. Faulkner and Sullivan were down on the field communicating with each other and with the players and everybody was smiling and having fun for the first time this season. This was more than I expected. The score does not tell the whole story. Just great! We have a great chance at a wild card playoff spot. Let's have a great second half of the season.
Kenny needs to SCORE. 1 TD in a game just won't cut it when we play REAL playoff contenders. but as Steeler fans say"a win is a win".
It actually made me livid seeing Canada up in the booth. I never understood how Tomlin allowed that. Your coordinators need to be down on the field with their squad. I’m glad he’s gone and we’re actually watching how coordinators should be conducting things.
@@MightyMattTMas an LSU fan I watched the LSU offense only put up 20 against Troy in 2017. He didn't come back next year. Then he torments me for Three years. It's honestly unbelievable and hilarious that our offense suddenly looks par. Not even great. Just expected out put against a mid defense.

Here we go out with a gameplan and look like an actual offense. We make adjustments, try to disguise what we are doing, this is already 10 times better than the Canada offense.

Ill eat my own words, I was one of Pickett's biggest critics and he played well today. Even though he didn't throw any TD;s, he looked more composed today throwing the football. There was definitely more flow in the offense today than there has been all season. Now they need to build off this and keep it going next week.

@@MarkScott-f5r there was more flow and it looked in rhythm, something it hadn’t done all season. The next step is finishing drives and turning field goals into touchdowns. Points doesn’t always tell the story. The score was only 16-10, but statistically, it wasn’t even close. They need to play more with a killer instinct.
Firing Canada was one of their greatest recent moves. The ONE game without Canada and they got over 400 yards of offense for the first time in 3 years and the most yards they got since 2018 lol it will take a little to get better, but getting rid of Canada was a great start

The funny part to me is the number of people who have historically said that Burrow is mid getting carried by the roster around him. Because in spite of that roster, there's never any offense at all when Burrow isn't healthy.

Pickett was throwing lasers today. I was impressed with his accuracy. The offense as a whole were playing like they finally have been untied. Canada was really restrictive in his play calling it would seem...

The Steelers' offense actually looked smooth for the first time since... well, since before Matt Canada took it over. With their great defense, if the offense can just sustain drives so the defense doesn't get exhausted, Pittsburgh is going to be very dangerous.

At the beginning of the season I had no idea about Steelers success, I thought they won’t have the chance to clinch the playoffs. But now I’m sure they will have a great team in 2 or three years and I’m sure they’ll be a SB contender someday. Although I hate them but I wish them good luck… .
This is a good first step, over 400 yards of offense, good run game, passing game came alive, and Pickett looked likes he belongs (he had 2 bad throws today). Was Canada holding Pickett and the Steelers offense back? Time will tell, but it was not 3 and out today. I am happy, it isn't 1965.
They threw more balls in the middle of the field today than they have the entire season, looked much less predictable, and actually used the TE as a receiver and not just as an extra O-line guy. Obvious things make a huge difference. Bad luck and officiating cost some points there, and coach Ts unwillingness to challenge that early TD, easily could have been 24 to 31 points instead of 16.
And the offense gave the defense plenty of rest too.

Sullivan and Faulkner combining there offensive play calling was Lethal. Kenny still overthrowing receivers but had a couple good deep balls. They finally using Pat there big T.E more. Running back Duo Tires out defenses. Pitts first 400+ yard game since 2020 covid 19. GG 6th Seed.
IKR, Kenny just needs to get some more experience throwing deep and in the center of the field since he hasn't been allowed to do much of that till now, using a TE properly is a big step foreword too.

The Bengals defense came big at certain moments which is also why they only scored 16 points, they would've scored more if that Diontae catch counted.

It's the AFC North. You can't expect every game to be 27-35 point games. It doesn't matter if it's by 1 point or by 50 points, by and inch or by a mile; winning is winning. The only stat that matters is the win column. Not every team is the Chiefs and Dolphins.
