I really hated Vick. Like, more than the game intended me to. She accuses Frank of being selfish, but if she just did what Frank said, they would have left with the evidence, and had the story told before all of this game took place. I hate her more than any character in gaming.
Lol, I thought I was the only one. I definitely felt the same way about her. She spends all her time telling Frank what a jerk he is caring only about money but then basically just steals his hard work to achieve her fame, which is no different then selling out for money.

I feel like the starting area shows how selfish Vick is. She drags Frank back to a place that likely traumatized him (maybe that therapy joke wasn't totally false), and then left him there when things got bad. Frank DID say "don't let the story break you" and she immediately let it effect her
Does Vick not realize that releasing the story would help a lot more than burning a single facility down? Burning something down will only slow them down but ruining them could stop them.
MY THOUGHTS ON THE GAME: The game is as fun and quirky as every Dead Rising is, but there are a lot of Dead Rising staples missing here. Some might call it evolving. Others might say that the franchise is not sticking to its roots. For us, it's definitely in the "not sticking to its roots" group. The biggest missing element for me is the time limit. It's part of what added to the difficulty and replayability. Without it, it feels dumbed down. It's unfortunate because the game plays great and is smooth overall. It's a thrill to bash zombies with the variety of crazy weapons, but it feels like to much of the focus here, instead of having a bigger focus on the cases. It feels much more linear than other Dead Rising's, which isn't inherently bad, but doesn't feel right in this franchise. Frank West is back, but not better. He's very funny at times, but he throws out so many one liners that fall flat that sometimes it feels like you're watching a washed up sitcom. There is a lot to do in the world, but unfortunately there is no open world after you beat the game. You would have to replay one of the earlier chapters before the last chapter, and get all your progress done before you move on to the last mission again. Overall the game is fun and not terrible, but too different from previous games to be considered a strong installment in the franchise. Nice job completing it though
It's easy to hate Vick for her selfishness but Frank isn't exactly being selfless himself. The difference is that Frank's selfishness comes from years of near-death encounters with zombies and from seeing just how insane (psychopaths) and ruthless (corrupt executives, government agents, merciless soldiers) humans can be. After having seen so much selfish evil in the world, he has given up on people to a degree and tries to focus on his own selfish happiness. For Vick, her selfishness comes from a combination of inexperience, hungry ambition and youthful naivety. In addition to this, Vick also has a black-and-white worldview that causes her to hurt everyone around her in her quest to "reveal the truth". Examples of this include dismissing Frank as a selfish jerk while ignoring his own hardships and betraying survivors to the Obscuris mercenaries in exchange for information in a typical "ends-justify-the-means" fashion. Frank and Vick are actually extreme examples of a cynical older person and idealistic teenager.
All True. Do you think It could be because everyone he worked with in the outbreaks ended up killed like Brad and Jessie? All his friends murdered, slaughtered in the outbreaks and then his mind breaks. Like when he said "Just a contact book filled with dead people".

Top 5 good thing about DR4: • Various Capcom cameos • Open-world gameplay • Camera enhancements • The exo-suit • The improvements to the map compared to DR3’s map
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that liked the map in this game. Yeah I don't like this game like most people but I feel like it's map isn't getting enough credit it deserves.
If they ever make a Dead Rising 5, I feel as though Frank And Chuck should be the main protagonists. Like they were back in Case West. This time, it's a co-op type of gameplay. And this time, bring back the ACTUAL Frank West. Appearance, voice actor and personality. The real Frank. Not this Hank East we got.
Man wtf happened to frank? He was a fun badass character and now they make him more on the funny side which failed, doesn´t feel like a dead rising game a lot, like gears of war judgement BTW, they make another hated character: Vick First otis then sullivan and now vick
Okay I understand how Otis was on annoying when calling you but I find Otis the least annoying in the game. I also find Otis’s funeral sad in Dead Rising 3 when helping Gary going into the church to find this dead body for Gary’s boss.
@@silverblade357 Otis would piss me off but whenever I went in the safe room and saw him standing there, he'd always say the coolest and nicest shit to you He's a good guy.
How it should’ve ended: 1. Don’t go with Vick 2. Abandon Vick at the lab 3. When Frank said “I’m out.”, roll credits 4. Push Vick out the helicopter, because it should been her
The man and woman fighting over a teddy bear in 19:16 actually represent the conflict between Frank and Vick over the course of this game. Not coincidentally, these two also superficially resemble Frank and Vick. The message is that unless the two find a way to compromise and share, disaster for both of them will follow.
Okay, some problems I found with new Frank. 1. Change in voice (but this one was kinda obvious) 2. No more one-liners and jokes now replaced with "that's what she said" 3. Frank's whole personallity is just sort of a different vibe. Old Frank being a bad-ass zombie killer, to now a zombie killer with really bad jokes and fast talking nature. (Btw this is coming from dead rising 1,2,3 and only watching 10ish minutes of this video)
1:19:38 cracks me up lol Connor: All due respect boss, but mounting a siege isn't exactly our style. We'll get slaughtered Hammond: Think positive, Connor. Connor: I'm positive we'll get slaughtered.
If Frank did die, it might have been a merciful, if horrific, death. For fifteen years, Frank has had to live with daily nightmares and the repercussions of zombie outbreaks, including ruthless government cover-ups, betrayal and a death sentence that can only be postponed daily. I think some part of him wants to die in order to be spared the mental anguish. Frank may be a selfish cynic in this story, but can you blame him?
Humans have been cruel since we were able to think for ourselves and we might be even worse than zombies. In video games, zombies usually kill because they are hungry. Humans are capable of killing for enjoyment, greed, selfishness, revenge and spite, and the list goes on. Still, humans are complicated creatures and the negative traits alone shouldn't be used for judgment.
@@JohnWick-bl4io A zombie apocalypse is a scenario where nearly the entire population is trying to kill you. If it isn't zombies hunting you, it's survivors trying to survive by any means necessary, whether they mean well or not. Trust becomes a valuable commodity, simple survival becomes a daily struggle, and the conveniences of modern technology become things of the past. Not everyone can survive that.
So the first outbreak was out of revenge the second one is because of phenotrans trying to drive up their stock prices the third was as an act by Isabella trying to find Nick Ramos while at the same time Hemlock was trying to create a bio weapon with king zombies But in this one is caused by a super zombie or am I missing something
honestly dead rising 5 needs to exist just to say that dr4 frank west is an impostor, this chump is nothing like original frank west. The fuckwits that made him like that say they wanted him to "evolve" and be more "cynical" after years of journalism and they stripped him of everything likeable, changed his voice, made him look younger? and made him a sociopath
When frank said this is his story and she's the assistant, he meant it in a way so that people who didn't like the report won't go to her first, frank is taking the risk that vick would've taken if she was the reporter who learned about the location
This game and these comments show that Vick is the least liked character in the entire dead rising series. Literally all of the crazy shit that happened because she was dumb and selfish. Leaving a guy in a place that caused him nothing but trauma and then getting pissy when hes actually doing what she wants
Vick was the most disappointing character i have ever seen in my entire life. She deserves a slap in the face multiple times, and why does Frank have to die :(
Cancelled sequel A sequel to the game, titled Dead Rising 5, was in development at Capcom Vancouver. The game was set between Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 3, and would have followed the adventures of Chuck and Katey Greene in Mexico. The project was canceled when Capcom Vancouver shut down in September 2018.
Game seems pretty lazy, especially as one of their best characters is Brad Garrison and then in this new game they have another Brad. Also, why would a town ravaged by zombies and utterly destroyed by the army still exist?! Willamette should’ve never been the games location
Amazing video man! However, the story of Dead Rising 4 is awfully boring and really falls flat thanks to Vik's moral compass. Throughout the game, Vik was nothing more than a liar that got a lot of folks hurt. Then you have another set of supporting characters that don't flow right with the main arc. Some of the characters think Frank is a selfish prick. However, Frank did a lot of good in Dead Rising 1 and helped out the main character of Dead Rising 2. Oddly enough everyone has a bad case of lost memory. Lastly, there's only ending for this game? If so then Frank's death was BS in my book.
nice game but way to little tinkering, to little fun-factor and that vick-character was annoying as hell. just my own humble opinion. vid itself is great as always ^^ keep the good work up :)
Good game, bad Dead Rising. I hate this new Frank and the new VA and I'm really glad that the old one returned along with the old VA in MVCi even though that game is horrible as well.
i might be crazy to think this but does anyone see a similarity between the currant frank west and Micheal from gta 5 there looks and voices sound really close any one else see it?
Kinda sad that Frank west dies because of Stupid Vicky being sentimental with zombies, hell i do understand that they were once people, but really is it the reason be all for letting them live, hell they were doing reseach on trying to bring back the humanity into zombies as in makeing them real people and most likely alot of failed attempts has to happen for a person to fully recover, tho the dlc makes it that frank does retain his humanity as a zombie after some time that is
Boy this story is trash, Vick and Frank are annoying and unlikeable as hell, and they couldn't even be bothered to get the original Frank West voice actor. If Frank had just leaked the info he obtained at the beginning of the game to the world he wouldn't have had to go on the run for 4 months and Willamette would never have suffered a zombie apocalypse in the first place.
Janie Anderton And then the Overtime Mode DLC opens with him waving his arms and screaming at the chopper to turn around, perhaps screaming that a twenty foot fall and around ten zombies is a light exercise to someone like him! Turns out his radio was broken in the fall and now he needs to hook up with Hammond to escape the town before it goes the way of that Raccoon City place. Seriously, you tease that a popular character might have died without showed a body, you're practically promising a comeback.
Say what they want about this game, but I'm glad they removed the time constraints for this game. I happen to enjoy taking my time slaying as many zombies as I can when in story mode. In fact, constricting deadlines is what drove me off Dead Rising 2.

It was opposite day when you wrote this right? "I like how he grew backwards and was made into a completely different character." It's called being badly made.

And all of the promotion material surrounding it saying “HASHTAG FRANK IS BACK!” That’s not Frank. If the dev actually played the first five minutes of DR1 they would know that; but obviously they didn’t since they literally misquote the opening monologue in the dream sequence.
As Gordon Ramsay would say, “It’s not right you ducking pillock”

frank west. the man, the legend.
DR1 was giving me "Ash vs Evil Dead" vibe. This Frank West a.k.a Hank East, reminded me even more about Ash.
That ain't Frank West he's an imposter.
He’s Hank East
You can't decide as hes Frank West or not it's capcoms game not yours
@@arthurmorgan7645 its hank bud
@@deadxgamer6577 no
He did look kinda sus.
I'm sorry, there was an Among Us pun waiting and I had to take it.
It will always be weird to me that he sounds older but looks like a fresh-faced 30-year-old man.
"That's not Frank's voice.." is the sentence that keeps repeating in my head.
Ain’t aging an odd thing?
frank died like a hero, he resurrects like a hero
34:20 And suddenly, Dark Souls.
Top 5 good thing about DR4:
• Various Capcom cameos
• Open-world gameplay
• Camera enhancements
• The exo-suit
• The improvements to the map compared to DR3’s map
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that liked the map in this game.
Yeah I don't like this game like most people but I feel like it's map isn't getting enough credit it deserves.
This story is all over the place. None of it resembles Frank West or Dead Rising. It doesn’t even stand well on its own!
24:06 Brad showed the wrong picture lmao
If they ever make a Dead Rising 5, I feel as though Frank And Chuck should be the main protagonists. Like they were back in Case West. This time, it's a co-op type of gameplay.
And this time, bring back the ACTUAL Frank West. Appearance, voice actor and personality. The real Frank. Not this Hank East we got.
What about nick was he okay
I love the part when frank just pulls out a mech battle suit
Dead Rising 4 is My most favorite and the coolest of the series and not just because there's no time limit.
I see you didn't play the other games
@@justarandombluebird8222 I did to number 4 is just my favorite
@@jeremyslade2024 oh well it your opinion i am not going to judge even if they remove a lot of stuff that what make the game fun
It was the worst!!!!!!!!
I hated how the "Psychopaths" didn't have cutscenes before and after defeating them. like in the previous Dead Rising games. 😠
17:56 Frank West is always my spirit animal
Man wtf happened to frank? He was a fun badass character and now they make him more on the funny side which failed, doesn´t feel like a dead rising game a lot, like gears of war judgement
BTW, they make another hated character: Vick
First otis then sullivan and now vick
Okay I understand how Otis was on annoying when calling you but I find Otis the least annoying in the game. I also find Otis’s funeral sad in Dead Rising 3 when helping Gary going into the church to find this dead body for Gary’s boss.
Hank East
Honestly I’m glad you posted this video because today I just got my wisdom teeth pulled so yeah thanks for making my healing that much bettter
Theres always that one guy in the deadrising series who does ABSOLUTLEY nothing but annoys you
assassins creed try hard And their name is Vick.
Seth Feldmann Who'd you want back in DR5? Vick Cho or Otis without a voice actor?
silverblade357 Otis. Anything is better than Vick.
Otis never dies
@@silverblade357 Otis would piss me off but whenever I went in the safe room and saw him standing there, he'd always say the coolest and nicest shit to you He's a good guy.
That ending was bullshit! Frank didn't have to die like that.. :(
ReconSnipeXX12 he didn't die. There will be overtime mode in wich you have to find a cure to his inffection (yup, he survived). BUT, it is dlc only
“The Punisher” Recon aka ReconSnipeXX12 *plot twist,he survived*
“The Punisher” Recon aka ReconSnipeXX12 he lived
How it should’ve ended:
1. Don’t go with Vick
2. Abandon Vick at the lab
3. When Frank said “I’m out.”, roll credits
The ending sucked.
and what about the rest of the people?
Fell through a Metal Gear Survive wormhole.
Don’t worry the canon way frank comes back in the dlc as a zombie and then gets the cure so he turns back to the normal
Okay, some problems I found with new Frank.
1. Change in voice (but this one was kinda obvious)
2. No more one-liners and jokes now replaced with "that's what she said"
3. Frank's whole personallity is just sort of a different vibe. Old Frank being a bad-ass zombie killer, to now a zombie killer with really bad jokes and fast talking nature.
(Btw this is coming from dead rising 1,2,3 and only watching 10ish minutes of this video)
Why were you just standing around at 1:34:34?
Snack break?
Say this comment at the exact timestamp while waiting for nothing. Councident?
He’s scratching his ass ok
This game feels more like GTA 5, but with zombies.
Literally what I thought when I first played. But DR 3 feels way more similar in my opinion.
*I was supposed to be doing the laundry* well just one glp vid wont hurt..
Clyde but it's 2 hours long 😝
1:19:38 cracks me up lol
Connor: All due respect boss, but mounting a siege isn't exactly our style. We'll get slaughtered
Hammond: Think positive, Connor.
Connor: I'm positive we'll get slaughtered.
Vick said she was going to burn down the place and then drove away leaving Frank there. I was like ?????????????
I don't really like how different Frank sounds from the other games.
The way this doesn’t feel like Dead Rising at all. I’m not even saying that in a negative way. The writing feels like a different series.
Frank may be a selfish cynic in this story, but can you blame him?
he became a zombie then he became into a human again
Humans have been cruel since we were able to think for ourselves and we might be even worse than zombies. In video games, zombies usually kill because they are hungry. Humans are capable of killing for enjoyment, greed, selfishness, revenge and spite, and the list goes on. Still, humans are complicated creatures and the negative traits alone shouldn't be used for judgment.
People often underestimate the toll a zombie apocalypse has on someone it looks simple but it isn't
Should've left Vicki too much entitlement
Talk about Vick KILLING THE VIBE
So the first outbreak was out of revenge the second one is because of phenotrans trying to drive up their stock prices the third was as an act by Isabella trying to find Nick Ramos while at the same time Hemlock was trying to create a bio weapon with king zombies
But in this one is caused by a super zombie or am I missing something
Yeah, I think that sounds right. Also something to do with Doctor Barnaby’s research and turning zombies into workers.
says they need exo suits... advanced warfare confirmed
Don’t worry guys the good ending is in the dlc frank rising where frank comes back as a zombie and gets the cure
honestly dead rising 5 needs to exist just to say that dr4 frank west is an impostor, this chump is nothing like original frank west. The fuckwits that made him like that say they wanted him to "evolve" and be more "cynical" after years of journalism and they stripped him of everything likeable, changed his voice, made him look younger? and made him a sociopath
47:46 lol that song with that much zombies is making me wheeze
"Grab a gun Frank!"
*Grabs guitar*
Didn’t like the game for the sheer fact that this guy is not Frank. Different voice actor and he acts totally different
When frank said this is his story and she's the assistant, he meant it in a way so that people who didn't like the report won't go to her first, frank is taking the risk that vick would've taken if she was the reporter who learned about the location
Seems just like good old times with uncle Frank and his Zombie buddies.
Pause video: 1:57:33 enjoy the picture of Morrigan and Lillith.
I refuse to have this game as canon
This game and these comments show that Vick is the least liked character in the entire dead rising series. Literally all of the crazy shit that happened because she was dumb and selfish. Leaving a guy in a place that caused him nothing but trauma and then getting pissy when hes actually doing what she wants
in the arcade room i found an easter egg if you listen to the music playing its chuck greenes pshycopath theme from dead rising 2 off the record
Wanna know what would have been cool if chuck green and frank met
They did in the game Dead Rising 2 Case West
Awww yea
Nice job on quick upload my man👍
Vick was the most disappointing character i have ever seen in my entire life. She deserves a slap in the face multiple times, and why does Frank have to die :(
Well... Look into the DLC
That wasn’t Frank: that was Hank East.
Cancelled sequel
A sequel to the game, titled Dead Rising 5, was in development at Capcom Vancouver. The game was set between Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 3, and would have followed the adventures of Chuck and Katey Greene in Mexico. The project was canceled when Capcom Vancouver shut down in September 2018.
Wait really
TELL FUCKING US!!!
I needed to hear it!!
i miss the unique pychopaths
Why does frank remind me of Michael in GTAV?
Martin Ziola I know right? I was thinking the same thing
It’s good to know he isn’t retired anymore
Well, i finally watched all the dead rising games! (unless they make a 5th one!)
19:20 that poor teddy bear!💔
despite the game not living up to the name... good movie by gamers little playground
Game seems pretty lazy, especially as one of their best characters is Brad Garrison and then in this new game they have another Brad. Also, why would a town ravaged by zombies and utterly destroyed by the army still exist?! Willamette should’ve never been the games location
Nostalgia purposes
Frank West is My Favorite of Dead Rising
He is
I liked how Frank called Calder ceasar when throwing that brick at him I was getting a planet of the apes vibe too lol
I honestly like Frank’s voice in this game. I do miss TJ, but Olsson did a good job.
Good game, bad Dead Rising.
I hate this new Frank and the new VA and I'm really glad that the old one returned along with the old VA in MVCi even though that game is horrible as well.
really appreciate the good video and also enabling the in-game subtitle. :)
GUYS TO ALL THAT IS WONDERING, Frank Rising IS Canon, So That Means That FRANK WEST IS ALIVE AND CURED!
Although the game was bad, the cutscenes were funny to me
This game was awful. That Joe Nickolls guy might've killed the franchise
Oh boy, the zombie outbreak is next year.
What's with the inactivity from 1:33:00 to 1:35:00 lol? Were you taking a shit?
Anyways thanks for the upload as always.
Phillusify probably confused on a cutscene or something
these games make the apocalypse look fun.
I would fist bump Frank West. Anyone else
Brodie Cooper me
i might be crazy to think this but does anyone see a similarity between the currant frank west and Micheal from gta 5 there looks and voices sound really close any one else see it?
R.I.P. Frank West your sassiness will be missed
Pillow Masters And OrllordGame hes alive at the end of Frank Rising
Kinda sad that Frank west dies because of Stupid Vicky being sentimental with zombies, hell i do understand that they were once people, but really is it the reason be all for letting them live, hell they were doing reseach on trying to bring back the humanity into zombies as in makeing them real people and most likely alot of failed attempts has to happen for a person to fully recover, tho the dlc makes it that frank does retain his humanity as a zombie after some time that is
Really?the entire video with no combined weapons????!!!!
I like how you leave your vehicle in THE MIDDLE OF A HERD!
So if the camera can show which numbers on a number pad were pushed, how exactly does that tell you in which order you have to select them?
Frank kinda looked, sounded and reminded me of Micheal from gta5
Boy this story is trash, Vick and Frank are annoying and unlikeable as hell, and they couldn't even be bothered to get the original Frank West voice actor. If Frank had just leaked the info he obtained at the beginning of the game to the world he wouldn't have had to go on the run for 4 months and Willamette would never have suffered a zombie apocalypse in the first place.
FRAAAAAAAAAANK NOOOOOOOO. Sacrificed himself the most honorable way to go
Janie Anderton And then the Overtime Mode DLC opens with him waving his arms and screaming at the chopper to turn around, perhaps screaming that a twenty foot fall and around ten zombies is a light exercise to someone like him! Turns out his radio was broken in the fall and now he needs to hook up with Hammond to escape the town before it goes the way of that Raccoon City place.
Seriously, you tease that a popular character might have died without showed a body, you're practically promising a comeback.
He didn’t die
Janie Anderton he didn’t die people need to play the DLC!
Say what they want about this game, but I'm glad they removed the time constraints for this game. I happen to enjoy taking my time slaying as many zombies as I can when in story mode. In fact, constricting deadlines is what drove me off Dead Rising 2.
Hatta Zulzila complete the game, then you can kill as many as you want
Time constraints make Dead Rising, Dead Rising.
Take away the time limit, you take away the uniqueness and turn it into a typical zombie game.
...Michael is that you? Moonlighting from Los Santos as a zombie fighting photographer?
Isn't a little wierd that frank is working with someone named brad just like dr1
Vick couldve at least waited until the report was made and if the world didnt burn them down she couldve done it herself
