Awesome kit for my dad. Taking him camping next weekend. Foot rests are a bit wider and may need to cut back. Switched out big tires for mountain bike tires. Dad cannot wheel himself, but we can now have him better join in with us in the outdoors.
It will not fit my wheelchair either, a Helio A7. The diameter of my chair appears to be around 1.28", larger than the 1.125" max of the clamp. So apparently several of the newer folding wheelchairs cannot use this adapter bar. Helio A7 (manufacturer motion composites), quickie xenon (manufacture Sunrise Medical) and invacare action 3 (manufacturer Invacare), so it is not just one manufacturer using the larger diameter tubes now. I emailed Freewheel about the problem. I would really love to use this product and if Freewheel made an adapter bar that fit the more current folding chairs, I think they would benefit as well by having a larger market who could actually buy and use their product.
This is hands down the best wheelchair accessory ever! There is one problem with it though...it is incredibly heavy! Is there going to be a carbon fiber version of it?
hi there, I've got a quickie helium rigid Framed wheelchair but I've got a clamp style footrest but it isn't very strong so I was wondering is another way of fitting the freewheel to my chair?

So wished you’d design a more universal adapter I have a quickie xenon and the folding adapter doesn’t fit
The screws on the knob really need to be longer they barely fit my invacare action 3 tubes takes a lot of force
