I know your not gonna believe it, however my longest cdda run was 3 years long, I managed to escape and hide in a shack for a few nights. After the first like 3 days I escaped through the woods with some kind of warm clothes and managed to find my self a small town loaded with food, and yada yada After about 2 weeks I found a car that was repairable, so I spent about a week in game working on that and managed to get myself far away after looting the whole town, I got lots of weapons and started working on a base in the woods near a lake. I was able to start fishing and foraging, and had a diet of fish for quite a while. I had managed to get some guns and start working on aiming and reloading and started setting up a foundation. After about 3 months to a year it was getting kind of boring so I started doing more supply runs into towns and cities, however this was right around when winter started. And I was cold all the time, so more often I had to run back and forth to get more and more gas from broken cars and stuff to just sit in the car and keep myself warm. and I survived two winters overall. At the end of the 2nd year around October I had been looting a house and thought I heard a zombie so I started opening doors and died to a horde of zombies in a bathroom the classic project zomboid way.
Ah the ol’ bathroom clown car route. I once has a garage clown car death, right at the start of the game there were like half a dozen to a dozen zombies in a garage, I poked my head into the window and didn’t recognize that I should’ve retreated fast enough.

One thing i dont like about project zomboid is that there are many many ways to open canned food without a can oppener that they dont have in the game. One of my favorites that ive actually had to use in Iraq was taking a can, taking the rim and rubbing it on some sort of abrasive surface until you wear down the metal until its weak enough to just be pushed in For those wondering i had a can of spam i carried with me for emergencies and what was supposed to be a simple quick patrol turned into us finding a suspected ied and needing to sit out next to a bombed out house for 40 hours with only the emergency mre we all kept with us. Also, after i opened the can, i remembered that i had a multitool in my pocket that had a can opener on it lol i even took it out, while messing with the can, because it was digging into my thigh 🤦
