      No, i think fakes is still the wrong way to go. You are still promoting the brand and fomo. Plus you are contributing to criminals (the hidden criminals, not like fat cat bernard)
      I know, i know, they are probably sewn in the same or similar sweat shops by the same nice exploited sewers, but it’s all the stuff after that has the really dirty hands. The distributors who also deal in fake IDs, credit card theft, money laundering, felony level theft (yes theft if they unwittingly sold u a bag at $3k)… etc.

    This is why I don't get why people freak out about Fast Fashion!! I been saying this for years too. It's doesn't matter what brand most of them are made in these types of places & under horrible conditions. And possibly in the same factory lol. Like she said these brands don't have their own fancy factory. In the 90s my cousin worked in a shampoo factory in Los Angeles, he told me don't spend a lot of money on fancy shampoo. Cause from cheap ro expensive. They were all made in that factory he worked at & not much difference in the ingredients. LMAO!! It's crazy. From clothes, to bags, to make-up, to everything are often made in the same places.

    Thanks for sharing this information and I remember seeing some of those under cover videos on UA-cam showing how in Italy where the leather tanneries were being awfully brutal to those workers. You’re right about these stories keeps disappearing, I’ve made the decision for now to only purchase vintage pieces . I’m disgusted and turned off from buying so called luxury.

    Yea I remember years and years ago about the big brand clothing being made in sweat shops. That stick with me all these years. I have not bought any designer clothing since. I used to only shop second hand but I stopped doing that once the op shops here in Australia started to exploit that and charge ridiculous prices. About 5 years ago I decided the only way I was going to buy clothing was only buying what I need. I do buy luxury handbags second hand but only when my current bag has fallen apart and can’t be fixed or I’m chasing a vintage piece which I’ve always wanted but that’s over years and years. I love how real you are. You are so down to earth and I’m glad you want to venture into making videos like this. Basically I always watch your videos because you certainly know what’s up 😊❤

How is Dior/LVMH not charged for false advertising as well - remember the nice little videos of a white gloved artesian calmly and slowly working on one bag in a pristine factory??? I thought everyone already knew this. The markup in luxury bags is like 5000%. You are only paying for the name and brand image/status created by the marketing team. Hermes still has French artisans who hand make/stitch every piece...but still doesn't warrant the retail price.

    Thank you for talking about this and going into more details, especially about how people are lured to work in these jobs with the promise of good pay and working conditions, but that's not the case at all. And yes, Ralph Lauren/Polo was involved in the Mariana Islands fiasco as were many other companies. The only one who actually went to bat for the workers was Levi Strauss. I wish I could find the British documentary I watched not long after that story broke, it was heartbreaking.

    Wealthy women are being treated with contempt by "manufacturers" of supposedly luxury brands. Luxury brands should design and manufacture from start to finish in their own facilities. Every piece of leather should be ethically sourced as should each chain link. Its not about cost its about exclusivity .But the manufacturer knows his clients are not that rich after all.

    • @notme1255
      @notme1255 24 дні тому

      Exactly! Like for example, isn't the whole reason why Tiffany &Co silver is so expensive is because they source the silver "sustainably" and with fair wages for the workers?

  • @mirjamcmillan4018

    There needs to be a global boycott for a month, someone needs to start a petition. This is absolutely disgusting, I knew of certain "luxury brands" to exploit people like this and the mark up, however, how silly of me to think that Dior (Chanel and Hermes as well?) could do it as well. Infuriating!
    Has someone got a list of "ethical and transparent" brands?

  • @fiorellageno3797
    @fiorellageno3797 24 дні тому

    Thanks for informative video. You might be interested in the May 2024 BBC expose called “Luxury perfume linked to child labour”. Especially interesting is the way luxury brands filter or skirt around child labor laws. These luxury products are marketed mostly to middle class spending way too much on items they do not need. To look rich. But if you are really rich then you can afford everything custom made by talented craftsmen. Don’t need to buy into the luxury brand hype. If you like it and can afford it, go for it but don’t get caught up in it, and consider how ethically they are made.
