I swear to God man I have never found myself eagerly awaiting UA-cam vid drops but every Wednesday and Thursday on the drive home the first thing I do is go on TFG and look for his weekly rankings and podcast 😂 its become habitual
The fact that Jim Harbaugh and Ben Johnson were interested in the Bears job last year and we kept Eberflus makes me hate this ownership more by the day.
As a chargers fan, I completely agree with everything you say. Super excited to see what this team will be in a year a two. Great job on all your videos
Knowing everything that happened to Minnesota in the offseason and leading up to week 1, yeah this has been a very impressive season - even if Detroit still holds onto the division
Concussions are a touchy subject because of the research on long term effects of CTE. It can seriously mess people up, with their mental health, make them aggressive, forgetful, and less emotional. The early death rate and suicide rate and early dementia rate among former NFL players is very significant
Im surprised you didn't mention the saints trading lattimore. That was the biggest move they made and indicates that they are ready to move on from their salary cap games and middling play.
As a Bears fan listening to Matt Eberflus and Thomas Brown is night and day difference. Edit: Eberflus interviewed Waldron and Thomas Brown for the OC job in January, the fact that Eberflus sat there and thought that Waldron was better is mind boggling
I agree with all takes in this video my glorious king TFG. Aaron Rodgers really will take the jets to the playoffs and win a lombardi super bowl trophy. Please keep blessing us with this content.
As a Texans fan agree with what you're saying, for whatever reason the O-Line isn't reflecting in the capital that we've invested in them. Green drafted highly and both Tunsil, Mason and Howard all given extensions too yet Stroud had 3 games in a row with the most pressures he's ever faced. Do think we will get playoffs but it'll be more due to the Colts's incompetence than how good we are. Defence has been great but our offence really is struggling (2nd half in particular), which for me is the biggest disappointment and has cost us big time (look at game vs Lions) and in other games we were lucky to escape with a win (Bills, Colts twice)
Very good analysis of the league right now, and of the Chargers in particular. The last few seasons there was a lot of hype for the team, and even when they lost to the Jaguars in the playoffs, the feeling was that they would do better last season. We now know how that went, and when Staley was fired and Harbaugh was brought in, they were so far over the cap, that it seemed like this season would be a rebuilding one… especially since they had to let Allen and Williams go. Ever since then, pretty much every move they made paid off, like you were saying. Key free agents were signed, and they drafted really well. Now that Herbert’s ankle is 100%, and the defense is making stops, they are doing much better than anyone expected they would. I’d put them ahead of Arizona and Washington right now, which would make them #9. I think that’s fair.. If they beat Baltimore on Monday, I’d put them even higher. Bolt up ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Hate to be that guy, but I have heard you say it like 5 times over the years. Barkley was 2nd overall and Darnold was 3rd . You ALWAYS switch those. I know it's a minor thing but every 6 months I hear you mention it and it triggers me lol 😂. With that being said I love your content. You the GOAT
I like how the Rams don’t have to use Braden Fiske as a 3 down player. They have Bobby Brown III, Kobe and Tyler Davis (sleeper) as their run defenders. In known passing situations they can just let Fiske go nuts and rush the passer against sluggish guards. I love it.
I had no problem with you putting the Commanders last, from the simple reason that there were way too many unknowns to make any sort of prediction about this team. I did think going into camp that they had an outside shot at playoffs if a lot went right with the team and someone else in the division was worse than expected, but I never expected they would play as well as they have. That being said, I felt that 7 wins were more likely. Glad we were both wrong.
Great show - just goes to show how tricky it is pre season to assess the bulk of teams in the league. Previous season bias is hard to shake off and I think it's always going to figure as part of the equation.
Jets fan here, I forgive you for making the classic Jets mistake and actually trying to do analysis with them instead of relying on metaphysics and voodoo.
You're analysis on the rams was perfect and I couldn't have said it better myself the d-line has been carrying the defense and Stafford is gonna have to carry him
Brian Flores should be the next head coach in Cleveland. Go grab a random OC and bring the defense back up to the top. I know they need to have anything resembling an offense, but if I can give you a top 5 defense and a random OC running this team without Watson. I think that brings the floor way higher than an offensive coach based on the roster construction
As a Pats fan I love the breakdown (I would add Mondre to the list of offensive play makers we've got but other than that you're right on). Feels like we're already "ahead" of where we thought we'd be at this point which is kinda weird to say for a 3-8 team but as long as Drake Maye ends the year healthy it's hard to say this has been anything other than a resounding success
Crazy good video. You rule. And as a Texans fan, to answer the question of disappointment: it's a little there, but only because of optimism. Feels like that feeling of hearing about a trendy new cafe that has the city's best coffee, and when you go there, the espresso machine is broken and they're only selling drip or beans. Which also happens to be pretty great for what it is. Weird metaphor, I know. It's only a disappointment because you expected more, but you're still very happy with what you got, and you have legitimate hope for the future.
Yay a 3 hour power rankings video I’m not gonna lie I was kinda worried about you I forgot you said you were going out of town so I thought something happened to you but I’m glad you’re good though 😌👌🏾
I feel bad for George kittle he's like Julio Jones, theoretically should be one of the greatest RedZone threats of all time but in practice their teams don't even try to get them the ball in the RedZone they just let them be the decoy
My top coach candidates for 2025 Offensive candidates 1. Ben Johnson Lions OC 2. Joe Brady Bills OC 3. Liam Coen Bucs OC 4. Kliff Kingsbury Commanders OC 5. Kellen Moore Eagles OC 6. Drew Petzing Cardinals OC 7. Arthur Smith Steelers OC 8. Matt Nagy Chiefs OC Defense candidates 1. Brian Flores Vikings DC 2. Mike Vrabel Browns Consault (good Head Coach but I don’t Vrabel making roster decisions.) 3. Jesse Minter Chargers DC 4. Vance Joseph Broncos DC 5. Aaron Glenn Lions DC 6. Bobby Babich Bills DC 7. Chris Shula Rams DC
Even as a jets fan who wanted rodgers, I can’t imagine that Rodgers would be willing to learn a new offensive scheme at this point in his career. Like you said its like late stage McCarthy in gb style offense he brought to NY
i actually think a defense guy for the jags would be great. a hard nosed culture guy that gets that side better i think the offense is talented enough to follow along since they are usually a couple mistakes away from scoring points
Kyle Shanahan’s playcalling has been horrible for the Niners. He’s the reason the offense looks so bad. If you watch the games Purdy is the only reason the Niners ever have a fighting chance.
It’s ok , we take you back . As a charger fan I myself have been living in this crazy Staley mental void . I’m just now finally gettting around to trust the defense lol then this bengal fane happen and threw me right back into that Staley Stockholm’s syndrome lol . But the turnaround is very exciting and things are starting to gel a lot quicker then I’d imagined
My rationale as an optimistic Vikes fan, preseason, expecting them to go 14-3 or 15-2 this season was that: 1. I expected Darnold to be at least as good as Cousins, maybe even an upgrade. Sam's throws on target accuracy at the Panthers was 74% and 77%, only marginally inferior to Kirk's. I expected that to improve with KOC's scheme, coaching and the Vikes elite playmakers. Sam has always been markedly superior to Cousins in pocket agility, off schedule plays, and rushing. 2. I expected that Flores' defence to make another significant jump because of the 7-10 FAs added specifically for his scheme. Flores improvised in 2023 with players he inherited, and despite key injuries late in the season, turned an almost league worst D, into an above average D. The versatility and flexibility of Greenard, AVG, Cashman, but also underrated signings and upgrades represented by Tillery, Jihad Ward, Shaq Griffin, (Jonah Williams) seemed to me that the Vikes could potentially become a top 10, even top 5 D this season. 3. I expected that with significant upgrades on offence and defence, KOC could turn the Vikes into a top 5 team. KOC was able to make the aging roster he inherited in 2022 into a competitive team. By the start of the 2024 season Kwesi and KOC had changed the team so so completely that only 10 players remained from the 90 man roster they inherited from Spielman. It seemed logical that with a roster finally tailored to the schemes they wanted to play, (the addition of Hockenson, Addison, Jones to the offence, and infusion of experienced talent into the defence), that they would be better than ever on both sides of the ball. I'd argue that most analysts succumbed to their pre-conceptions that Darnold would play down to his worst games at the Jets and Panthers, instead of imagining how KOC, Jefferson et al could elevate him above even his best play there. I'd also argue that there was a failure of imagination to ask how the versatility, and depth of players like Greenard, Van Ginkel, Cashman, Jihad Ward, Tillery, Turner, Griffin, Gilmore would change the effectiveness of Flores' scheme. Especially in comparison to Hunter, Wonnum, Dean Lowry, Akayleb Evans, Andrew Booth, who formed a shallower pool of older less talented players unsuited to Flores's 3-4 scheme.
2:42:57 - as a texan fan i am happy with our 7-4 record but i am very much disappointed with the team thus far. We've yet to have a win that felt truly dominant. Slowik has taken one of the biggest single year playcalling stepbacks ive ever seen possibly. My reasoning for disappointment is more because of the parts of our team we thought could be the most reliable have been far from that
58:32 I believe the reason Ramczyk hasn’t retired is because of the way his contract would hit the books if he does. Basically if he had retired this offseason the Saints would have been on the hook for even more money by waiting he can put the team in a better position because they have a year heads up
the more i hear the A-Rod situation makes me think he's trying to replicate the thing that Brady did down in Tampa, but this is the bad timeline of that experiment not working out.
I’m shocked how good the Vikings run defense has become in 2025. There is no way in the world I would have expected it. Easily the Vikings highest priority in 2025 is keeping Brian Flores. Give him the bag.
I 100% as a Texans fan thought we could compete for the sb last year we had a great passing game a good defense put just could not run the ball to save our lives and that hurt us thought bringing in mixon would and diggs and hunter would houtbus over the top slowik just regressed heavily and it’s the opposite where we run the piss out of the ball but can’t throw to save our lives just a harsh reminder that progression is never linear and even tho we’re 7-4 I feel like our best played game was week 1 and we look pretty bad every week
Feel the giants just won the key close games when they made the playoffs and in this season they just aren’t winning those games that’s really the only difference If Daboll gets fired he will probably get a new job easily
Im just waiting for Rodgers to be signed/traded to the Raiders and then Davante forces a trade back to LV only for his boy Derek Carr to join the Jets making Davante force a trade back to the Jets again🙏
Don’t agree with the dolphins take although Tua isn’t going crazy with the deep ball he’s been playing more out of structure and being an improviser with the ball which a lot of people thought he couldn’t as just a one read QB
I would avoid comparing concussions to ACL tears. Too many ACL tears brings up talks of retirement because it reduces athletic ability and durability. Too many concussions brings up talks of retirement because it reduces the ability to live a normal life after football. Concussions are in the same tier as neck and spine injuries, the real life altering kind.
It's wild how much content you put out by yourself with the quality of analysis you do

My birthday is this Sunday, and the best gift I’ve received this year is that the Jacksonville Jaguars have a bye week
Being a fan of a shitty team sucks
Hang in there my friend
dont worry, you'll get a late birthday present in travis hunter! jaguars could never mess that up
Happy birthday man
If Shad Khan doesn't screw up this off-season I think we can do some stuff here. A lot of talent that needs a better GM and coaching staff
@Meatz32 umm, the Jags would draft either Abdul Carter or Mykel Williams first overall. Who are you kidding?
How the Vikings started: Vikings.
How the Vikings are doing: Vikings
The fact that Jim Harbaugh and Ben Johnson were interested in the Bears job last year and we kept Eberflus makes me hate this ownership more by the day.
The woody Johnson dilemma is hilarious. At this point I wouldn't even know if I was a jets fan.
It’s my birthday and I’m off work the rest of the week. I will enjoy listening to this (on and off) the next couple of days. We appreciate you!
Happy birthday 🎉
Happy late birthday! Yesterday was also my birthday too

TFG dropping 3.5 hours of pure gold content..life is good man 💯🔥
+4 to number 30 for the cowboys is fun. Didn't realize you had them at 34th best team.
Marcus the commitment to consistent uploads is unreal. Thank you for all you do, makes the work day go by so much quicker
Getting this notif at work had me very excited ngl lmao. 3 and a half hours, we're getting spoiled 💀
As a chargers fan, I completely agree with everything you say. Super excited to see what this team will be in a year a two. Great job on all your videos
this is a good segment idea. good stuff
Thomas Brown did a lot more of first read stuff with Caleb, and he called plays up in the box instead of calling sideline which helped Caleb.
Physical impairments are just a lot more easy to swallow than mental impairments
For sure, but not sure why the subject should be danced around/avoided.
@ if anything, they should be talked about more
You are killing the content this year, keep up the good work
got a 4 hour drive tommorow and boy do i know what im listening to for that, thanks for making the decision easy!

That's racist.
@@OlSCrabs How’s that racist

Dropped as soon as I walked in the gym 🔥 🔥 🔥
Thank you Marcus!!! Just finished this one!!!
Dude, this analysis is insane for one person. It's actually quite mindboggling! Ty TFG!
Great show - just goes to show how tricky it is pre season to assess the bulk of teams in the league. Previous season bias is hard to shake off and I think it's always going to figure as part of the equation.

How could I forget!
Good analysis w daboll he has the worst press conference, post or pre, but when he throws those glasses on to call plays hes in his bag.
HOW ABOUT THEM PANTHERS?!?!?!
My rationale as an optimistic Vikes fan, preseason, expecting them to go 14-3 or 15-2 this season was that:

As a jags fan… I am just hoping for an uneventful offseason so I can recuperate for an underwhelming season next year

2:42:57 - as a texan fan i am happy with our 7-4 record but i am very much disappointed with the team thus far. We've yet to have a win that felt truly dominant. Awesome video. Just fyi the rams don’t have a second round pick to get a qb in the draft because of the Fiske trade.

Raheem Morris needs to start taking the defense play calling from Jimmy Lake. I don’t know why Morris isn’t calling plays he did a good job in LA.
Feel the giants just won the key close games when they made the playoffs and in this season they just aren’t winning those games that’s really the only difference
If Daboll gets fired he will probably get a new job easily
as a dolphin fan im welcoming darkness. I expect to be a strong winning team again after the rebuild. Maybe 2026,2027 season
