Inspired by the legendary violinists whose dazzling showpieces and heart-melting melodies Garrett fell in love with as a child, Iconic includes more than twenty tracks and is set for release on 4 November 2022. Music by Bach, Dvořák, Gluck, Kreisler, Mendelssohn and Schumann, among many others, is presented in new arrangements for violin, guitar and orchestra (by Franck van der Heijden and David Garrett). David Garrett is accompanied by his guitarist Franck van der Heijden - who also conducts the players of Orchestra The Prezent - as well as being joined in duet arrangements by his former teacher Itzhak Perlman, star tenor Andrea Bocelli, flautist Cocomi and trumpeter Till Brönner. David Garrett’s personal choice of music evokes the golden era of violin virtuosi, when performers such as Zino Francescatti, Arthur Grumiaux, Jascha Heifetz, Fritz Kreisler and Yehudi Menuhin delighted audiences with popular encores and other minatures. As a young musician, he looked up to these and other players from the past, aspired to emulate their artistry and immersed himself in their historic recordings

I first saw David in 2016 in the film Paganini. THE DEVILISH VIOLINIST. I was in shock. Shock in the good sense of the word. Of course, the plot of the film and the talent of the actors amaze the imagination. But those feelings and emotions of David, when he plays the music of Paganini on the violin, struck me to the depths of my soul. Every note is felt by his heart, reflected in his eyes. You listen to this game, and everything freezes inside. No, not precisely because Paganini is a great composer, but precisely because of the way David plays. Then I became interested in his work and his life.
After getting to know his biography, his achievements, I realized that David has a gift from God!!! He not only passes music through his heart, he has a very sensitive soul, kindness, self-sacrifice and love for people.
He loves the music he gives us. His eyes, smile or sadness on his face make music understand even those who did not understand anything about it. I really want these words of mine to help those who don't know David yet to love his talent and the music he gives us. I WISH THAT EVERY DAY I LIVE BRINGS DAVID ONLY POSITIVE EMOTIONS! So that his friends and colleagues do not know fatigue, so that everyone is healthy and happy!!! Only good wishes to David's entire team.
