Will you guys be watching/reacting to the movie that came out 2019? For Code Geass
Yeah there is movie series for Code Geass.
@@Alpha4Atlantis False. Lelouch of the Resurrection film is a continuation of three other films that configure an alternative universe independent of the series. Therefore, it does not continue the series and is not canon. It's better that they don't see it. The film changes the personalities, motivations, dynamics of all the characters to force the fanservice.
@@AlicentviBritannia just because it's different doesn't make it bad.
Always remember, Attack on Titan came after Code Geass by a wide margin.
Do keep in mind these reactions were allready recorded on patreon so they will probably keep mentioning it because they have allready finished code geass at this point
@@ShirouBrando This is why i'd like if reaction channels had a wrap up video. They'd never perform super well but something where they just talk about the show for a bit after all of it has been released would be something I personally would love to see.
Its the commenters pushing this narrative to them. They were constantly pretty much being spoiled that the ending is very similar to attack on titan so now its all they expect.
Im sure these 2 have been spoiled about ending and so what do you expect.
@@kayden2119 Yeah i see that. In season 1 they compared Lulouch to Light Yagami almost every episode (even the questions). They missed too much about the development of his character just because they expected a second Kira.
The best thing about the recording is that there are vague points in it and times Lelouch goes into a new thing despite what Schinzel says. Its not 100% perfect but still good enough it works for a conversation which helps make it believable.
Euphemia broke Lulu's geass at her death bed, and before that she had resisted it... She resisted at the start cause it wasnt in her nature to hate, much less kill... and she completely shattered it when the Geass ordered her to kill/try to kill Suzaku who is japanese.
Interesting note, Leouch orders Sayoko, Lloyd, and Cecile "Apate Aletheia". Apate is the goddess of deceit while Aletheia in philosophy is truth with a goddess of truth by the same name. He's basically saying a deceitful truth or a deceit hiding a truth.
I can hear the opening notes of "Madder Sky" already playing 😢
🎺
Yes, I destroyed the world...
...and recreate it
"Cold Blooded" doesn't mean you kill a defenseless person - it simply means "without emotion". Cold-blood is a phrase used to describe someone making a decision without any emotion or regard to the other person. It doesn't even have to be the action of killing, simply any action that affects someone else could be done in cold blood.
If you recall, Euphemia broke free of Lelouch's Geass with just her own willpower. When she was on her deathbed, and absolutely refused to kill Suzaku or tell him to take his own life or anything like that thta would disparage him.
Shirley too, to a lesser extent.
"Since when has breaking geass with your own will been a thing?" It actually has.
Euphemia resisted Lelouch's geass. And I think Chareles' is weaker; Lelouch broke free from it at the start of season 2, after all.
Wasn't Lelouch assisted by C2 though?
It's not that Charles's Geass is weak. It's just that Lelouch had lost his memories and had forgotten his wish and Geass is linked to who the person is and what he wants. When CC returned his memories, he was able to use Geass. Furthermore, Lelouch has incredible willpower and Geass is a matter of will. Few realize that.
R2 was with C.C.s help but in Akito it does show Lelouch can break Charles Geass on his own, and rather quickly too, although it did exhaust him.
@@nahte123456 I think this was also becase Julius' persona was so against Lallush's will (serving and admiring the emperor) that it was easier to break out of. His persona in R2 was as similar to his own life as it could. He still had a sibling he loved, he was still as student, he was still a gambler etc
Nunally broke out of a memory manipulation Geass (Charles’s Geass) not an absolute obedience Geass (Lelouch’s Geass) though she did briefly resist that before submitting. She broke out of Charles’s Geass with a strong will (her will being stronger than others probably is due to living with disabilities).
Next Thursday is going to be my favourite reaction on this channel. This show has my favorite ending of all time in any show I've watched
Also the saddest😭
honestly they should have just double dropped since this is like a two-part finale
I'm not that excited. I know what they're gonna say. It's gonna sour the moment.
@@scarlightemperor3410 You're probably talking about them comparing to AoT right?
@@mschmidt2801 bingo
I remember being upset when Nunnally reappeared alive. I hate when a story brings back from death characters who completed their story arc and had a memorable death. It wasn't until Lelouch confronted Nunnally that I understood why it was necessary for her to return.
Leaving aside that it was good that Nunnally discovered the truth and reaffirmed her will, Lelouch started the rebellion to protect his oved ones, especially his sister. Nunnally was the reason Lelouch abandoned the Black Knights and, by extension, the first Black Rebellion failed. This is how the first season ends and now R2 draws a circular ending by bringing Nunnally as the ultimate test for Lelouch. Zero Requiem will only crown success if he overcomes the strong emotional attachment he has for his sister and he is able to do so. Not only 'cause Lelouch has realized that Nunnally has grown and formed her own principles, but above all, Lelouch has found two reasons that transcend both of them and that aren't mutually exclusive.
On the one hand, Lelouch will give his life *to end the war so that humanity can have a future.* On the other hand, Zero Requiem is *the punishment that Lelouch has determined for himself (and Suzaku)* and it is important to assimilate this since in this way it is understood why it is necessary for Lelouch to die in the finale. He longed for a tomorrow with his loved ones and gave up on that. It's his punishment for all the sins he committed following his "ends justify the means" philosophy. He knows that he can't evade responsibility or let anyone else take it. That's the cathartic effect of the ending of Code Geass and the resolution of Lelouch's story arc, and it partly explains why they're so powerful. So the confrontation with Nunnally shows Lelouch's psychological growth.
By the way! When CC says "I've never met a man like you", she is comparing Lelouch to her previous contractors. According to the official Code Geass guide, CC gave Geass to several people throughout her existence and Geass ruined them and their lives. As a result, those contractors hated CC. Lelouch has many reasons to hate CC: she used him, she lied to him, she betrayed him, she abandoned him, she put him on the path that led to his death. And despite that, Lelouch forgave her and showed her empathy and compassion. That implies a different kind of love than the one given to her by all the people she knew. For example, Mao loved her as his mother and as his lover. Lelouch loved her as a human and taught her that a relationship of accomplices is a relationship of equals by accepting her as she is. This is what gives CC back the will to live and gives her the motivation she needs to find love and acceptance for herself.
In addition to the Zero Requiem giving CC a new perspective as she not only witnesses Lelouch's love for humanity, she also sees Lelouch's persistence despite difficulties. And that is being human. CC understands what it is to be human and what life means. It's about survival. And, in the same way, CC understands what love is. It's about sacrifice. Thanks to Zero Requiem and Lelouch, CC finds a new meaning in life and is more than ready to embrace it and love and that is why for the first time CC has a reason to fight. In the end, CC's narrative arc is a love story with herself (not Lelouch).
When did cc betrayed and abandonned lelouch?
@@predaplantuser2742 She didn’t tell Lelouch about Marianne being alive but maybe that was because she thought Lelouch needed to find that out from his parents himself or maybe she didn’t want to reveal a secret of somebody she knows. Either way, she wasn’t plotting against Lelouch so I would say it’s wrong to call keeping that particular secret a betrayal, especially if she didn’t tell him for either of the reasons I mentioned and it’s not an abandonment. Though perhaps her not telling him was just not to meddle with one of Lelouch’s motivations for his rebellion as she needed Lelouch to continue to grow so that one day he could kill her (her original plan). Another possibility is she kept certain things from him as she didn’t want Lelouch growing too attached to her, so that he would follow through with killing her when the time came. Ik that never happened but that was her original plan.
Euphy and Shirley broke the Geass on their own will. Both of them while dying
All Hail Lelouch!! Here we are at the penultimate ep!
Geass, the power of imposing your own will upon others. It is also governed by your own will, as we saw with Lelouch evolving his power as his determination grew stronger (unlocking the second eye when he became truly convinced of what he was for and against, when he confronted Charles and his mother). We saw Mao broken by it because his will wasn't strong enough. We saw Euphie resist it a couple of times, both in the beginning and when she saw Suzaku, and we saw Suzaku unlock the full potential of his own curse as his will became aligned with it. Now we see Nunally break through Charles geass, a psychological block, right when she is more determined than ever and in a crisis, similar to when Lelouch defeated Charles.
4:55 It's not even MAD. It's just AD- There is no risk for Schneizel to get fired back upon. It's just him pointing a spear against anyone who would dare object to him.
The camera work at the moment of three shots at Shinke could be one of the best shots in the entire robot anime history.
The emperor's geass alters memories only. Not the physical or biological capabilities. So nunally only believed she was blind
man, that eye open reveal still gives me shovers years later.
It's the music, man. The music is amazing.
@@neoshenlong I would include that the slight flickering of her eye lids also really help to sell the weight of it.
One more week. It has been a wild ride. I can't wait to see their reactions.
Lelouch and Schneizel's conversation expresses the ideals and reflects the beauty of Zero Requiem: the power of will, human nature, and the future. Lelouch rejects the Ragnarök Connection and Damocles not only 'cause imposing peace is an evil act by transgressing the will of humanity, but 'cause an eternal peace implies the stagnation of the world and, as Lelouch explains, *a life without change "is nothing more than experience."* CC is the best example of this.
Zero Requiem precisely embraces that ideal of Lelouch and ensures the progress of humanity, in what way? To begin with, Lelouch realized that the world had fallen into a state where fighting against each other was the immediate response to disputes. If you revisit the final episode and pay attention, you'll notice that in the first half the characters explain why they fight and, by extension, why there is war. *As long as there is a reason to fight, people will inevitably clash.* That's why Lelouch takes that reason away from them by becoming a greater evil than the one before him. He manages to unite the nations of the world against a common enemy, demilitarizes them by allying under the flag of the FNU and immediately unleashes a war so fierce that it would wear down the entire world in every aspect. In this way, global politics will be reset and humanity will decide of its own will to change. This nuance is important since it implies that Zero Requiem doesn't technically establish peace, rather, it establishes all the conditions for peace to be the best option. Therefore, *peace in Zero Requiem is a choice of humanity.*
Despite everything, there is a possibility that after the Zero Requiem was completed, the FNU disintegrated and all nations returned to fighting against each other. In fact, Lelouch is aware that the Zero Requiem itself is no guarantee of absolute peace and it is certain that another war will occur in the distant future. Hence Schneizel says that *"the future may be worse than the present."* However, just as there are people who will start war for their interests, there will be people who will defend peace and, even if Lelouch dies, the people who will stay behind him (Suzaku, Kallen, Nunnally, etc.), just as those who will come after them will preserve that peace that he helped bring, 'cause, in Lelouch's words, *"people will continue to seek happiness."*
Zero Requiem is based on Lelouch's philosophy that people need a future (or purpose) since the future represents hope. CG often communicates through Lelouch the importance of having a purpose in life, even if almost every character demonstrates it in one way or another. It's one of the main themes of the series. For Lelouch, Zero was his future. The hope of a tomorrow with his loved ones. By killing the Demon Emperor, Zero becomes a symbol of hope as he demonstrates that there will always be hope for justice to prevail and, as Hemingway says, that "the world [and peace] is worth fighting for."
In the end, it's preferable to have a temporary peace than an eternal peace since it is a real, which honors will and human nature. Throughout his journey, Lelouch rediscovers the value of will and learns that human beings are complex and nuanced. That's why Zero stands in front of a multicolored world in the opening. Lelouch understood that people aren't white or black or red or blue, they are of various *COLORS*
For all this, Zero Requiem is a love letter to humanity :')
It's bad that you didn't binge watch. Those "smart" questions and comparisons with AoT were constantly spoiling.
That first question was the absolute worst. I hate it when people think they’re being clever, spoiling people like that.
for real, he said he already thought of that before he read the question but still, its almost like youre confirming it, and then if he didnt think of it now it will be in his head.
To be fair they are very perceptive and intelligent, already figured out a lot of stuff on their own and i'm sure such a theory was brewing somewhere. like I never noticed how Nunnaly suddenly shifted her head, foreshadowing she broke the geass.
I love that Nunnaly has eyes closed so long that when she open them they cover 60% of her face XD
ALL HAIL LELOUCH!!! ✊🏼😤
Also Kenny and Montana’s faces during the scene where Lelouch outsmarts Schnizel had me dying. 😂😂😂 Y’all forgot our boy pulling that move on Mao back in season 1. Lol!
Not really! They mentioned it, and lots of others also remembered.
Did you comment this before finishing the video?
Why even make this remark where 99% of viewers don't recognise/remember until at least a few seconds after the reveal
I respect Lelouch because while he is willing to sacrifice others to achieve his goal, he is also willing put his own life at risk on the battlefield just like his soldiers. He flew right into the FLEIJA knowing he could very easily die and his entire plan would be ruined, but he did it anyway.
"only those should kill who are willing to be killed " - lelouch vi britania
"You shall serve Zero" is the best line in the series. Even Zero not using his geass to command all Black Knight member to serve him.
Will power has been shown to fight Geass. Take Euphemia's case where she resisted Lelouche's accidental order. Given the king's death, Nanelis will could have had the strength to break it.
All Hail Lelouch!!!!!
I already saw this anime before but I'm still excited rewatching it cause of you guys especially after hearing your thoughts on every episode. I'm super looking forward to seeing your reactions and hearing your thoughts on the finale!
All Hail Lelouch
All Hail Lelouch
All Hail Lelouch
I really appreciate all comments in this section that are like PhD thesis analysiing this show so deeply! 🙇
This episode shows how incredible brilliant is Lelouch, who anticipated the whole conversation with Schneizel. He was using general statements and waited for single sentence in an answer from Schneizel. This shows how unbelievably smart is Lelouch and it puts him higher than most of the other anime characters! He's really underestimated very often, especiallly in younger viewers.
Lelouch has defeated the mind obstacle to his goal - Schneizel. Now he must face his biggest heart challenge and defeat his emotions - Nunally. Truly brilliant move from creators.
And in next episode, all of us are waiting to witness the reaction to the one of the best anime ending in history, It's unbelievable how they summarized whole series in just few minutes.
Even if Kenny and Montana predicted some of the ways it'll end, it'll be still shocking to them becuase the most amazing thing is not only what they did but also how they managed to finish this amazing anime! 💌
To be fair, Lelouch isn't so much responding to Schneizel as he is leading the conversation. He's making statements and responding to the general idea of what Schneizel may say.
@@saltyk9869 that's why it's so brilliant. It gives a natural way to approach such situation. It'd be hard to explain how he managed to anticipate every word Schneizel would use, so he used general philosophy talk. That's amazing!
@@Arhius No argument here. I love this reveal.

Although they are spoiled I'm still looking for next week. These 50 weeks waiting for the new episode has been so amazing. All hail Lelouch
Lelouch had the Avalon follow "Operation Apate Aletheia" following their water landing after the float systems were damaged. Apate is Greek for deception and Aletheia is Greek for truth.

Guys what the hell is the song when c2 talks about changing lelouch’s life and kallan comes in? Ive been thinking about it for years
17:21 A shame Lelouch didn’t bring Arthur. A cat in his lap would’ve completed this scene.

THE END IS NEAR
I highly recommend Overlord!
Please watch Psalms of Planets: Eureka Seven. It’s a very good show you would love, and deserves more recognition than it’s gotten.

Not "anime" but Hazbin Hotel and Helluva boss! Both set in the same universe and really well done and worth the watch. We're getting 5 more episodes of season 2 throughout the year as well since the last episode was 7 so that's 5 more coming through the year

Masterpiece!!!! An excellent battle vs Shneizel and the fall of Diethard, the final is coming Suzaku vs Kallen, without a doubt Lelouch is a great character carrying everyone's hatred and future while Suzaku his sword faces his enemies, the best duo! ! Can’t wait to see how Kenny and Montana will react to it since they’ve seen something similar in AOT.

After this show ends, give classroom of elite a try , it is really masterpiece
Ah yes. The penultimate episode of Code Geass!
I absolutely love that Lelouch brought back his recording strategy for this episode. And if you pay attention you can tell that he isn't really responding to Schneizel. He's really just leading the conversation. Of course, the fact that he knows Schneizel so well allowed him to more accurately predict his speech patterns than he did with Mao.
We've also come to the end of the Nina subplot. Honestly, I think it was a pretty interesting subplot. Just a little unfortunate that it revolved around the most hated character in the series.
And with this episode it may be a good time to discuss the last of Lelouch potential love interests. C2. The immortal Witch. A former slave. A woman who has lived for hundreds of years and grown detached and unconcerned with the world at large. Seeing that nothing matters as everything eventually disappears in the march of time. However, Lelouch changed that. Through Lelouch she regained some of her humanity. She begins to care for him and show him legitimate kindness. However, for Lelouch to be with her would mean he would have to give himself to the power of Geass. While Shirley represented a path for a normal life, and Kallen represented a path of rebellion, C2 is the path of Geass. A path separated from the world. And Lelouch couldn't really follow that path. As he wishes to change the world.
Next episode is crazy. The final battle between Kallen and Suzaku. The battle of words between Lelouch and Nunnally. The Black Knights and their struggle. And of course, the Zero Requiem. I hope you're excited. There's a reason people say Code Geass has the best ending of all anime.
after you finished the main anime you two should start watching the films of code geass like: "Code Geass Lelouch of the Re;surrection" or "Code Geass: Akito the Exiled".
they are really worth watching.
I don't know how you feel about longer Anime, but since you've already watched Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, my favorite Anime of all times, I'd like to suggest Bleach, my favorite of the Big 3. If not, because it is a longer show, I highly recommend Seven Deadly Sins, it's so good.
