I’m going to my first AT. They just handed me my gear and said to put it together. Really appreciate it bro.

"If the army wanted me to have one, they would have issued me one" was my response to my unit telling me I need to buy my own PT belt after AIT

I don't understand that attitude at all. Get the things that save your life, not the things they can afford to buy for you.

hehe I the last vest I wore was the IOTV Gen I with the Level IV plates. I had an MBITR radio pouch on my back left side of the vest, Camelback attached center back of the vest. My IFAK was left rear, Canteen right rear. I had the double stack mag pouches (6 total magazines) on the lower center of the vest. you will have 7 total magazines. I also had 1 pouch on the upper right shoulder strap that was for the CAT tourniquets. the last item I had was a Holster that was adjustable and that went center of the vest with it set up for left handed firers along with a sturdy lanyard attached to a rock climbing clamp attached to the vest. One thing I had that should be mentioned was the Casualty feeder cards which were kept in a Zip lock bag. the cards were laminated as well. I had permanent black marker (thin line) and red marker ( to mark tourniquet's time on the body) with the card and in the zip lock and it was stored in the ballistic liner in the front of the vest (quick and easy access).

Around 4:40, you could just unbuckle that buckle and put the loop over it and rebuckle it. Works fine for me and doesn't impede the buckle if it needs to be taken off in an emergency

I used an IBA when I was in. We all used extra large plates no matter what, was strange to see a medium.

Clicked on only to learn the ways of the back plate. Didn’t know about that top access point until now, life has changed now that I know. Not only will LMTV rides be more comfortable but also it’s good to know I won’t be As fucked up if a bullet rips. Could’ve asked an E-5, figured I’d ask the college of UA-cam first.

You use clips to attach it to the iotv, the side clips need to come off for the iotv to come off

Used a cheap plate carrier until my unit banned their use. It was still way better than the IOTV (older gen). I made it a bit more comfortable by just taking out the soft armor since only plates were checked.

Velco is a dogs ass in a deployment. That crap has failed me on day one. Sand or snow. Mud or grass. Better take zipties, web or 550 because it is just a matter of time until it fails.

They didn't even issue me a panel. So I'm limited on where I can put my mag pouches. I guess they are going on the sides on the straps.
