My daughter wore Hanami for a little over a year and loved them. She got fitted for new flats last Friday and is now wearing the Bloch Performa. She says they feel like Heaven. She would still be wearing the Hanami but hers went missing at the studio and we had to get new flats. She was having a pointe shoe fitting and they gave her her first proper flat fitting. She is in love with both of her new ballet shoes.
Funny. I just wore the Capezio Hanami for a year as well and got the Bloch Performa a couple of weeks ago. But I think I'll go back the Hanami, they just hug my feet a bit better & they're definitely my favourites so far.
This is a nice review of ballet slippers! I also tried the Capezio Hanami - and no doubt, these are well made and flatter the foot very nicely. Unfortunately for me, the elastics start to cut into my heel after 30 minutes or so, and one size up is already too big. My favourite canvas shoe is the SoDanca SD16 "Bliss", which is somewhat similar to the Hanami (stretch material, no drawstring, elastics preattached). When dancing on wooden floors, I prefer leather shoes because canvas is often too slippery. I'm still looking for the "perfect" leather shoe, so far I like the Pluton from WearMoi and the Prolite from Bloch.
I have such a BAD ballet flats, they are very painfull and narrow, I never knew that ballet flats could hurt I thought it's only pointe shoes that hurts! I really need to get new ones
I'm only thirteen, and my dance school's uniform is leather shoes. I don't have experience with canvas/fabric shoes, but I don't have any problems with leather shoes. If I go on to do more professional work in dance, I will try the canvas shoes, and in a way, I feel like I'm going to like them better!
i got fitted a few weeks ago for bloch performas, and they are so soft and comfy on the inside, they hug my foot pretty nicely, and the only issue i have with them is the elastic is a bit too tight. other than that they’re great, you should definitely try a pair out !
I just went shopping for ballet slippers for beginners and found some "half point" shoes with a full sole, available in leather or canvas. I wanted to get canvas but they felt really hard and restricting and uncomfortable, so I tried the leather ones and while they're not perfectly comfortable, my feet don't feel as oppressed as with canvas. Initially I felt tempted to go up a size, but quickly realized that I should stick to my regular foot size.
the capezio hanami flats fits my foot like a dream. i didn't really have a great experience with leathers so i prefer canvas. i miss performing and dancing inside the studio 😩
So glad you u posted this recently started using bloch split sole canvas I was wearing leather full sole before I feel like I'm wearing socks and while I love the amazing point I'm also concerned about the durability as they are much flimsier than leather also can they be washed
Could you add a link or the name of the ballet flats you are showing in the video. Sometimes it's hard to understand the name you are saying. Thank you !
I really wish I could say I love everything about the Hanami's and they are SO CLOSE to the correct shoe for me, but the one thing I can't stand on these is the soles are just too thick and cupped. I can't feel the floor properly and my balance is off because of the way the soles contact with my feet. I do love the way they stretch and fill the gaps so that they fit my feet like a glove. They are very soft and it doesn't feel like my big toe is going to poke through them even though the fit is tight. They have minimal junk inside the shoe. They look pretty too. It's just that sole that is an issue. I just ordered So Danca Bliss and have them in my possession but unfortunately they are way too big so I need to return and try for a smaller size. They are very similar to Hanami as far as shape and have larger soles like Hanami but I LOVE the soles on the Bliss as they are flatter and my balance is so much better. There is no restriction in the foot with these, though I do have a larger size than I should. I'd have been so happy with Hanami if not for the thickness of the sole.
What is the sizing like for Grishko? I'm going to order some for my next pair but I can't try them on as there are no stores that stock grishko flats near me.
@@yiskak6341 not really sure I always buy then in shop but they have a sizing chart on their official website for each of their shoes, which I recommend looking at. I have the same size in my tempos as I have in street shoes. And if you've worn other ballet shoes you may already know what your width size (mine is B). I hope this helped you a bit, good luck with your shoes :)
Hi! Is anyone out there having an issue where their shoes twist around their foot during pirouettes? I’m wearing hanamis. I thought they fit well (tightly) when I bought them & they don’t seem big. I’m dancing on Marley as well which is a bit sticky. Any tips?
Isn't like full sole only for kids? Because she pointed out split sole all the time like??? Recently when I bought new shoes I was asked if I wanted full or split sole... Like I am 19, I haven't danced on full sole for years.
Pointe shoes give a lot more support so you can actually go en pointe. Demi shoes don't have nearly as much support, so it's mostly just to transition from technique shoes to pointe shoes.
Iam a ballet girl I dance and I wear the campazio shoes it is very nice I love it your right your favorit is the best I wear thous shoes all the time there so good and relaxing but sometimes it is pretty annoying
While there are lots of videos teaching ballet steps and classes, I recommend that you start out with some classes at a studio first to make sure you are doing it correctly and safely. Another benefit of a real studio is that the floor is created for ballet, again making ballet safer. I have been taking classes for years but I supplement with videos at home as well.

A studio is a room in a school specifically for dance, meaning the floor should always be suitable for dancing when kept in good condition. However, floors in your home are not meant for dancing and can hurt your joints especially when jumping. Speaking of jumping, dance can get a bit noisy and will be hard to hide. For your safety and your relationship with your parents, I’d recommend being upfront with them. Offer to pay a portion or all of the tuition, and use public transportation if your parents cannot drive you to a studio. Try out a local studio with good teachers and a reasonable price. You don’t have to take my advice of course, but you will be able to go much farther with proper training and not sneaking around your parents.
ok. first of all, you have gorgeous feet. I would give ANYTHING for them. second, do not recommend demipointe shoes for beginners. they could possibly break something. no hate :) luv u byeeee!
Thank you for your video; however, your video was a run-through of what you like but not very helpful for what other people may like and most importantly why. You did not show the soles of the shoes, probably the most important aspect of soft shoes. Almost always, when shoes are not working it is because of the soles: too much bunching, ridges, too much material, uncomfortable skinny sole positioned in the middle of the metatarsal. In my view, for all shoes (for narrow or wide feet), the most important thing is a wide sole (split or not depending on a person's preference), but wide especially at the front to eliminate uncomfortable ridges and bunched material.
Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the struggles in this world, God is full of justice, mercy and love. Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans . The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom. If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. He will help us through the struggle, the stress, and anything we experience in the world. It's about letting Christ in to guide and teach you and obeying Him through His power (not ourselves, we need Him to help us as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction). He is our substitute in His life, death and resurrection. He essentially rewrote history in our place so that, if you believe in Him, it will be as if you had never sinned if you accept Christ's death as our own in our place. He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it. He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through His power and abiding (staying) with Him. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and let Him lead in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, pray for Jesus to come in and He will do what we can't. Give us The Holy Spirit who will guide us in the right way. Christ says in John 16:33: I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] - (AMPLIFIED version) NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus.
