The ultra wide angle lenses on action cameras exaggerate perspective compared to human eyesight, so things look further away than they actually are.

This is such another dynamic to fishing to the normal. I grew up doing rock fishing and never thought much of it. I would spend the same money I have on boats again, on rope and climbing gear to keep fishing this sort of ground.
