I HATE ribbon cable. I break out in a cold sweat when I see the stuff,
and if it smells fear, ribbon cable vaporizes into dust instantly. it
also self destructs if it is: exposed to air, deprived of oxygen,
exposed to sunlight, moonlight, or darkness, the oils in skin, latex
gloves, and optimism. so i find myself trying to work on electronics
calmly, wearing leather driving gloves, during a 16 minute period at
twilight and without looking at what im doing. You sir, are my HERO

Dude the flex razor trick liked to knocked me on the floor when I saw you do that in 2 seconds I spent like half the day yesterday with a hard razor and ruined a whole damn ribbon trying to strip the damn thing every freaking time I would almost have it striped one of the stupid copper pieces would break. Just seeing you do that trick was worth seeing the video thanks Sir.

Great video, there was a lot of fiddly work done there but your camera work was excellent, a lot of times when people do videos like this you miss the fiddly bits that are crucial. Well done you.

thankyou so much for this tutorial, I fixed my JBL bluetooth speaker, the power FFC cable was damaged and did not found that cable anywhere, and there is no proper service centers for the JBL speakers, I managed to open the speaker and got stuck with the cable, it was only a small issue, but I am unable to switch on the speaker, I thought my 10,000 rupeas speaker is gone to the dustbin... never thought I could fix my speaker.. seeing your tutorial i fixed the cable and the speaker works great now!.. amazing!

thank you worked on a sony vaio pcg-9201 i used the same damaged cable cut off the damaged area with a scissors. I didn`t have a flexible blade so i used a straight razor using the point i scraped off each pin slowly untill all the plastic was removed, just don`t cut it too short because the sony vaio needs more ribbon cable to move the power button into place thanks again

Sir, I'm a huge fan of your way of explaining this stuff.
Specially that LCD and led circuits.
Matlab koi Nasamajh bhi samajh jaye.
Sir, Since a month I am trying to learn something which is 3 Volt and 5 volt circuit. i.e. Voltage regulator.
I have watched some videos where I am not getting the perfect idea to diagnose the problem.
Specially when Coil Shows "Short' in circuit.
Will you please upload a video regarding Regulator and it's detail to repair boards.
Hats off to your work. :)

the ribbon labelled "1mm fcc cable" has number printed on it which is "20624 which is same as the ribbon on my HP G62 power button ribbon. I got ribbon with same number but pins are much smaller then my G62 power button, I also had 2 strips of another ribbon with the number "2896" written on them but the pins/wires match the same size as my power button. My question is if I am able to use that ribbon with the numbers "2896" that match wires/pins as my broken power button and would it would?
