This is pure madness. You have extraordinary patience, Sorin. But you're also a little crazy at the same time :)) Awesome repair, man, awesome. Standing ovation!!!

Sorin, you are a legend! If anyone reading has ever tried this themselves then they may appreciate just how amazingly skillful this repair is. Very few technicians would attempt this, they would just tell the customer "sorry, you can't buy the cable, you need another screen. " Amazing work. What I never understand when I see videos like this is how the hell did it get like this and who kept that damage quiet when they had done it?

This should not be categorized as repairs, a new word should be added to the dictionary for this thing. How you can put a hot soldering iron on a flexible ribbon cable without melting and messing the whole thing, leave alone adding a dust of solder and welding a hair-wire to it, and repeat that over and over again, Please make a video only on this explaining the temperature used, the type of wire and solder etc., Please Please.

@@CaribbeanParadise-cn3sy thats what razer do. theyre a marketing company not a hardware company.
they started out selling mice that caused a whole latency drama on windows, the sensor chip used onboard virtualization to offer more frequencies, which meant it caused latency on the sensor itself, they blamed everone in the worlds pc's, and kept deleting the link to the info id share about the sensor.
they caused the whole 90's mouse lag thing.
(which eventually got hardcoded by microsoft with windows 7> in the usb stack. the microsoft whitepapers explain the new usb stack causes latency and therefore windows is no longer suitable for medical use. thats why your doc and likely your hospital is still using vista with no security. bill gates doing us a solid.

That middle layer is rubbery, probably easier to remove it with the iron. Or you can do it from the front too, but the flex stays more rigid if the glued part stays and you only remove the rubber side. Anyways, nice.
Oh and you missed that pink tape that keeps the cable from rubbing on the case, kapton tape would work too.
