Same platform as the id4 which is being built there so it's likely. Id6 not confirmed for the US yet but it has been suggested by the head of marketing and you could see it selling well so makes sense.
Volkswagen will be releasing their Passat sized sedan to the US market for 2024, so will probably be released in Q3 or Q4 of 2023. This was the concept sedan they showcased in 2018 called the ID.Vizzion this will be called the ID.6. The US will get this Chinese ID.6 albeit with differences it will be sold in the US as the ID.4 XL and should be released in 2022, if the information I have is correct✌️
That interior is really nice. In Europe, the ID range seems to only come with cheap looking cloth interiors. Also, you're either a small man or the ID.6 is bloody massive.
Many reviews neglect to mention their height when sitting in the car. Knowing that is critical to make any meaning judgement when comparing the space and how well people fit in it.
In defence of VWs decision reference the two missing rear window switches, this solution is better. I don’t know how many time I’ve gone to top down my front window and rolled down the rear ones instead, making you have ti look at the buttons briefly while driving. It’s far easier to hit that “rear” button and then use the same two switches. Once you get the hang of it, you wonder what you ever did without it.
despite its hideous front, this would do just fine in Europe, where we don't have electric SUV 7 seaters at all. My advice to VW is not to wait for the competition to breach first.

Passive safety does set the ID.6 apart from its competitors at the moment. There was a crashtest comparing Model Y and ID.6 with quite good results. While i don't mind the interior (only sat in an ID.4 so far) this would probably reach the masses better with a full leather interior from Passat or similar models...
A lot of Americans want the VW ID.3 like we’ve got in Britain which surprised me, because like you said Americans love their big cars! I wouldn’t be surprised if the ID.6 ended up being built at Volkswagen Chattanooga alongside the ID.4 and ID.5!🤟
I test drive the ID6x, then I bought a ID4x. The cushion length is way too long for me. ID6x is great for people over 1.75m and above, for people under 1.75m, it is better to have an extra cushion between back and back support.
the cushion of ID3 and ID6X both are much longer than the ID4X's. Too many Chinese vehicle reviewers complaint lots of cars have no knee support because of the their cushion are too short. Why people need knee support from from the seat cushion? Many health organizations recommend that it is better to have two finger space between knee and edge of seat cushion. The cushion length of ID3 is so so stupid, it is longer than the ID4x's, but ID3 is a much smaller car.

Also, some time early next year there will be app support for Spotify and Apple Music with version 3. No need for car play then.

Wish the touchscreen display was connected and long to take full advantage of the maps and CarPlay display it gives it a cleaner look to me. This display that vw Id keeps pushing especially in that cream color is one of the many reasons I keep looking at other ev’s
I understand there were economical reasons that lead to the decision to build this model in China. I personally find it a failure the fact they don't build and sell it to the european market. It's very attractive to young families, given the extra-boot capacity and the extra seats. I honestly would have ordered it, as this would have been basically the only 7-seater e-SUV available on the German market. It's a pity.
I don’t see how such a large car would be attractive at all in Europe. You would have a nightmare finding parking (it doesn’t even seem to fit in the parking spot they are showcasing it on), it’s almost impossible to drive a large car in small European roads outside of a highway etc. A truck that big would be very impractical for the vast majority of families in Europe.
@@lobaxx that's rather a cliche. Of course Ford F-150s have a hard time in small, old towns, but cities have usually wide boulevards. Country side generally is not problematic to SUVs or trucks, quite the contrary. There's a wide range of 7-seaters that sell well, because of their practicality, like Skoda Kodiaq, Peugeot 5008, Mercedes V-Klasse, Audi Q7, just to name a few.
Have you driven either Audi etron 50/55 or Zeekr 001 AWD lately? Both cars have air suspension. I strongly recommend that you test drive the latter. The VW ID.6 Prime 4WD has DCC active electromagnetic suspension if I am not mistaken. How did it feel?
4:10 Four windows deserve four buttons. With no option to correct this obvious mistake, VW needs to listen to customers. Build what we want and we will buy. I hate aerodynamic windshield slant so far back you hit your head getting into this vehicle. Large people need a large opening to get in. Please make the opening bigger. Level beltline, level roof line, ground clearance, a large rear window, and cargo capacity is what we utilitarians want. Is that so hard for aero dynamic wind tunnel worshipers to understand?
I'm really liking the direction of the VW interiors. Honestly, I still remember about 10 years ago, their exteriors were pretty decent, but their interiors were so dark and boring. I feel like the past 4-5 years they've really gotten a lot better and less boring

I agree with you and also would like to know. I bought this ID6 X and I'm very satisfied with it. I have looked at many other EV's, but at this moment I haven't seen another car with a similar price, similar range and similar inside space.
@@sergeikorolev922 Nio doesn't have a car in that price range that is so big (Based on the ID6 first edition, with rear wheel: Price 268.000 RMB (after subsidies) and a range of 580km NEDC) and with that range (for similar range you pay for the ES6 almost 150.000 RMB extra) Xpeng doesn't have a 7-seater SUV and not similar range (they will have next year, but not available yet). BYD has indeed an SUV, but this is hybrid and not fully electric and not as big as the ID6. Tesla Model Y is also not 7-seat, lower range and more expensive, so at this moment there's not really something like this on the market to compete with the ID6.

Hongqi E-HS9 starts at a 509800 RMB and the ES8 (if you want 580km NEDC range, like the ID6) is 526000 RMB, which means you can almost buy 2 ID6's for the same amount as one of the others. BYD Tang is a PHEV, so I think the Xpeng G9 would be the closest to a competitor, but it's not available yet and I assume that the G9 will be around 20% more expensive.

I think this will be more popular amongst normal consumers than a tesla in the USA... Don't get me wrong, Tesla's will always remain famous... they're the one who started everything, after all. But... Getting EVs from legacy automakers, like Ford or VAG here, people will feel better.... That they're getting better quality stuff... which they are. But this ID.6 ... and the ID.4... looks too similar for my taste... ID.4 is good looking but...U know..We don't want copy cats models like one car company.. It used to. But its been supplanted by the Koreans. Both Hyundai and Kia have better ergonomics and material that's a step above VW. Even if these more premium appointments are only skin deep. For example, you can option a power steering wheel (beautifully stitched two tone) on a Sorento. None of which are offered on any 3-row VW. The also all have real buttons and knobs on the infotainment.

“good" is more than enough. Chinese consumers are used to buying crap at 2-4 times of US prices. In fact the Alphard MVP goes for 5-6 times in China (around USD30K in Japan and around $160,000 in China).
that car will sell for no les than $60K here in the States. the ID4 sells from mid $40K and only goes up from there. VW can not sell the ID6 for within $10 to 15K of the ID4
I must say it looks nice from the outside but it has the same BS cockpit like all other ID´s. I often drive the ID3 via sharing and the handling or controlling of the vents or anything else is quite dangerous while driving. But that also applies to everyone else, where I have to operate everything from one screen. looks great but the function ... the eyes belong on the street.
Could you do a review on a Chinese Market specific Mercedes G-Class W463 with a small 2.0T engine? That would be a good contrast from the ones sold in other markets.
The bare minimum for me is 300mi. If it can't do that I don't even consider it a viable alternative to ICE. Would definitely consider it if it came with the 300hp turbo 4.
ID series has beautiful cars, except for their software problems. Munro live shows some its problems. Björn Nyland had nice comparison video of 1000Km time.
Just being OK is not enough. It needs to do something special and this one does not deliver. Its not exceptionally maneuverable, no special brakes, and not even fast.

It was an id.4 not ID.6. Model Y also does not compete with this without a usable third row.

Could you do a review on a Chinese Market specific Mercedes G-Class W463 with a small 2.0T engine? That would be a good contrast from the ones sold in other markets.
chinese got no other options for the engine due to some laws,no one like this 2.0 engine in G but have to accept

The bare minimum for me is 300mi. If it can't do that I don't even consider it a viable alternative to ICE. Would definitely consider it if it came with the 300hp turbo 4.

There are hybrids but not EV at the moment.
ID series has beautiful cars, except for their software problems. Munro live shows some its problems. Björn Nyland had nice comparison video of 1000Km time.

Just being OK is not enough. It needs to do something special and this one does not deliver. Its not exceptionally maneuverable, no special brakes, and not even fast.
