+Herb Toker i agree, everything they do is controlled by their management, its up to the management to protect her and they didnt do so!!! she completely has to take the blame herself....its horrible...i feel so so so awful for her.
It was pre written, she only read a paper and was not sincere. So why feel sorry for her if she didn't genuinely feel guilty ? She's 16 and sold her soul for money and fame.
Marcy wow hahaha ok kid, you don't have the faintest idea on how little money they make...she doesnt get much of that fame as she has to work extremely hard. and the reason why she didnt want to read the paper was because she didnt agree with it, and rightfully so !!! seriously dumbass, i will also tell you do go educate yourself before you write crap ;)
+Marcy why should she feel guilty? Why should anayone feel guilty for their beliefs, their opinion, for something as innocent as holding holding a flag?!?!? I'm not yelling at you btw.
Tzuyu was not forced to read that apology letter, she was strongly advised because netizens in China were bashing her and it went so far that her sunbaenims in her company had to CANCEL activities in China due to this poor controversy. JYP stated that he called her parents and Tzuyu and her parents talked about what the right thing to do was, and it was clearly to apologize. However, I don't think she has anything to apologize for. All she did was hold a flag of the nation she was born in, grew up in, and had friends and family in. No way did she ever state her political views about the whole One China ideology. Tzuyu is SIXTEEN YEARS OLD and that grown man who started the whole controversy should be the one apologizing. Not her. She doesn't deserve any of this. I hope Tzuyu is doing okay and that this will end.
Also, she had to read that apology letter because everybody was watching her. Netizens in China were criticizing her. People in Korea and Taiwan were supporting her. The situation got so messed up that, may I repeat, other people in her company had to QUIT THEIR ACTIVITIES IN CHINA. JYP's stock price decreased sharply due to the boycotting from Chinese netizens. If she had not issued an apology, Chinese netizens would have made it much, much worse.
+littlemisscupcake What Tzuyu did was innocent and she didn't even intend it anyway, the staff probably gave her the props. One thing I feel iffy about is on another show with Jackson, they were asked of their ethnicity/nationality and Jackson answered Chinese or Chinese hk (i forget) while Tzuyu insisted on saying "I'm Taiwanese" even after Jackson tried to protect her knowing she might get hated and said "Chinese Taiwanese". However Tzuyu continued saying no I'm Taiwanese even when Jackson tried to help her, and he's getting hate for no reason now. Obviously Tzuyu knew about the sensitive issue and knew why Jackson said you shouldn't say that but she went for it anyway.
How does Tzuyu have anything to do with China? She is a Taiwanese in a Korean entertainment group. She does not deserve this, and is obviously reading a prewritten script. I feel so bad for Tzuyu!! She looks really nervous and I just feel really sad...
FireTamer101 I agree with you, but a company vs. (basically) a country, JYP is going to lose. JYP's stocks began to go down, and the entire company was being censored. Meaning any group associated with JYP was going to lose money/recognition. In the end the apology had to happen. Although they should have let her apologize on her own and not off a script.
This is a mess, she didn't do anything wrong. She should be proud of where she came from and JYP shouldn't of made her say things she clearly didn't believe
+Marcy She's 16 years old, you obviously haven't been or lived in a country where it is taboo to speak of freedom and to top it all she must being under tremendous amount of pressure, she didn't make a choice, she DIDN'T HAVE A CHOICE
+Marcy Furthermore I wouldn't insult people if I were you , one thing is to voice your opinion and another very different is to insult people while you are doing so, if you have never being in a situation like this do not give your opinion so decisively without putting yourself in their shoes first, it's very easy to judge and run our mouth when you have things you take for granted, mainly freedom
+Setsuna Hikari "lived in a country where it is taboo to speak of freedom" so true... And she does not even live in mainland China, only dealing with people from there.
yes she didnt do anything wrong. but i wouldnt go as far as to say she was "forced" to give an apology. but think about in a company perspective. china has a lot of people who are into the k-wave that is happening. if she didnt apologize the company wouldnt be doing very well at all
I literally cried while watching her apology video. This is so cruel. I wish they would not bring a young girl into political disputes. It's not her fault that there is such disputes. She didn't mean any harm. She does not deserve this. I'm the same age as her and I'm from Okinawa. Okinawan people do not consider ourselves as Japanese. We accept that Okinawa is a part of Japan, but we do not classify ourselves as Japanese. I imagined if I were in her situation. I'm extremely proud of being Okinawan, that would be so degrading for me. I wish that people would stop bringing her into this. China and Taiwan's drama should not involve her because she did not intend to promote anything. That celebrity who started this whole mess should be ashamed. That's so immature to bring an innocent child into such a burdening and serious problem.
It's that old Chinese singers fault. He bashed her on his weibo making false accusations. SHE WAS HOLDING A TAIWANESE FLAG! Like the other members in her group, they were all holding flags from where they were born from. I'm a ashamed that a senior singer would put a 16 years old(who could be his grandchild) under the bus for doing something so innocent. Makes me mad. Her apology was obviously forced, she probably feels innocent, but then mainland china bands other jyp artists... That's what she probably feels bad about, not her actions(which she doesn't need to apologise anyway).
I'm from Taiwan. Just for the record, the whole country is backing her up. Cause this has never been the first time and will not be the last time our ppl were forced to disown our nationality in public. We share her pain.
The adults should be ashamed using this child for their own agenda! The other girls held up flags from their countries also. My guess is the company had them do it and then they made her into the fall guy! And the guy who weibo about it is just a bully! Shameful on both sides!
I think the Taiwan and china situation is similar to the union and confederacy situation. What an American would feel when they see someone holding a confederate flag is how the Chinese felt when they saw her holding the taiwanese flag. America didn't let the confederacy leave and china won't let the taiwanese leave. ps, if you are an American (civil war) or British (revolutionary war), stfu because what china is doing is exactly what you guys did.
@@aokosakano3037 Except nobody should be forced to live under the Chinese government, and most western countries recognized that (along with Taiwan) until it became economically convenient to do otherwise. Every country has had civil wars (China especially), do you think no one should get to criticize anyone then because they did similar things, centuries ago?
you forgot something. There is a reason she needed to do the apology: Everything JYP Entertainment does gets cencored out in china, they cannot promote their and basically loose a big big market for their music. Its one little entertainment against china, so who do you think won in this? She couldn't do anything but apologize.
AND not only that she IS under contract and she CANT get out of it unless she wants to be sued. So yeah she can't handle a lawsuit at such a young age and it's not like she is rich or anything, Kpop idols especially rookies which she is don't earn almost any money it all goes to the company.
And I forgot to mention holding the flag did not in anyway represent her political views or ideology since it was given to her as a prop by the tv show producers just like the other Japanese Asian girls were given one from their country. Tzuyu had essentially nothing to apologize for excerpt for following the instructions given to her in a show and holding up a flag? To which she never voice political views. The one who should have apologized wasn't even JYP but the broadcasting station who gave her the flag because she is contractually obligated to follow the company's orders hence the shows and their producers she is hired to appear on. Or the other singer should have apologized to because that was so low of him. Enough said.

She is just a kid, she is 16 years old so they shouldn't attack her on the first place but since this is the real world these things are prone to happen. Her response (JYP response) was really poor though. They should have made her say that she doesn't want to mix her music career with politics and basically keep a neutral position. With time the matter would die. She souldn't have apologized for anything but she should have made it clear that she is not here to impose her political opinion, she is here for her career.
For the record, the Taiwanese independence movement is not a movement to be separate from PRC China. Taiwan is already de facto a separate country away from China. It would be the rejection of the One China ideology, and presenting Taiwan as an independent state, distinct from China proper. Frankly, it'd just be acknowledging reality. Taiwan has been a distinct society and culture, governed by a separate, sovereign government, for the last 60+ years (under ROC) and another 50+ years (under Japan). I would also like to mention that KMT legislator Su Chi, Chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council at the time, admitted that he made up the 1992 Consensus and that no such agreement exists. Therefore there is no One China consensus. China needs to face reality and accept the fact that Taiwan is never going to join China, ever.
its so sad im a proud Taiwanese and i will never ssy im Chinese. Tzuyu had to say shes chinese even tho shes not! Its so sad! OMG YASSS WE GOT A NEW PRESIDENT FINALLY SOMEONE MENTIONED IT!!
+gracieafur 1 Every description/story about a thing is what a thing is not. Only a cat knows what it is like to be a cat. You are what you are, I am what I am, and so on.
***** So you're implying that if I see a person who lives in Germany and has a German citizenship, I can't call them German because I am not German myself?
When she was reading the apology, it felt like she was some sort of hostage. It's terrible! And she's just 16 year old! I'm so mad right now, how could anyone try to ruin her life because she's proud of her nationality is beyond me.
Is the confederacy a country? The Taiwan and china situation is similar to the union and confederacy situation. @@aokosakano3037 The taiwanese already left they have their own dollar military flag and if you go in there without a passport and your chinese you will get deported that didnt happen in the confederacy. See the Americans actually won the civil war and claimed their land back and the Americans succesfully broke away from britain, made their own dollar, created a democracy, created their own military. Some people (americans) will wave the american flag because they value what the confederate flag represents like slavery. What you swaid about the British stuff is making me lose brain cells. If I go to Britain and wave an american flag, which people are doing there are restaraunts that do this no one will get pissed. Its just Chinese netizens being babies
@@aokosakano3037 Lol... this is a terrible analogy because the Confederacy wasn't even it's own country. They were only established and lasted for 5 years by a very small group of RACISTS. They were literally pro-slave and anti-black. It is NOTHING like Taiwan.
I feel so bad that she was forced to apologize. Makes me grateful I can say what I want, when I want, without having to worry that I'm going to alienate thousands of people because of government rigidity. :(
+Marcy she doesn't have control over the money, she's with a company. Do you not get whay that means. People like you just irritate me, please do some research before you do or say anything.
Taiwan IS in fact a separate nation, and originally wasn't part of China until recently, the natives of Taiwan are not Han Chinese and had more in common with the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia even Hawai'i. Taiwan was colonized by Chinese as early as the 13th century and the original people still are alive today. The only ones who refuse to acknowledge this are Chinese, it's kind of the same situation with the USA, it was never a European country until White people started to come and crowd out everyone. She should not have to apologize because certain Chinese want to bully her into agreeing with them. That actor who started this, should be ashamed of himself because he is a grown man bullying a girl, insiting others to join him. Taiwan is NOT China, culturally and linguistically.
yeah, Taiwan belongs to China, you're right deadbutmoving. As well as Tibet, as well as South China sea. Oh wait yeah the communists claimed once they would conquer and make the world commie red too. Everything belongs to China right. wait if Taiwan belongs to China, why do they have their own national flag?
deadbutmoving learn to read dude. Having a flag doesnt say anything, but if you're having a NATIONAL flag on a land you claimed, having your own passport, your own government, your own military, on that very land, it's another story. Oh in case you dont understand what "national" mean, google is free nowadays. Try googling instead of laughing. Next time try not to cut someone else words and interprete as you please.
yup the majority of us are ethnically Chinese with a minority Hakka and Aboriginal Taiwanese. But trust me the ethnically Chinese say they aren't from China.
deadbutmoving Your comments are ironic given that the whole reason Taiwan still isn't under commie law is that there is a superpower on their side. I still don't know why the US didn't just give Taiwan a few hydrogen bombs and declare them an independent nation a long time ago. Would have solved a lot of problems in the south China Sea.
This is what being a prisoner in your country is! She should NOT have to apologize for just holding the flag of her country! This is when freedom of expression gets its wings cut off, this is an outrage in this century and with all due respect China please let people have their freedom, I'm very disappointed with JYP , years back they stood behind JYJ? NO! when they sued SM , they should back up their artist ad they did JYJ
+Setsuna Hikari We didn't make her apologize, her company did and we are only boycotting her company because we want to stand up for what we believe in!
Gerui Wang I know, again like I said she shouldn't have to apologize, her company should have stand by her and what she believes in, no doubt, but this company has a record of putting money first and foremost, she's just a child, she should be protected and nurtured, this would not had happened however if China would allow its citizens and all under its rule the freedom they crave
+Setsuna Hikari Frankly, I disagree. Freedom of expression is also the reaction of Chinese citizens to her waving with the Taiwan flag. What do you think would happen to me if I went and waved a NAZI flag in the middle of Jerusalem? Or hold up a sign stating "9/11 was a great victory for Jihad" in Times square? Ok, those might be extreme examples, but how about a flag of Basque country in the middle of Madrid or Corsican flag in Paris, or anything similar to that? In all of those cases I would probably be happy to survive. She is a public figure, so she has a responsibility to her company and her band not to alienate large parts of her followers by doing stupid things. Somebody should have told her not to wave Taiwanese flag in an non-political band. It's just plain retarded thing to do. I do feel for her, since her career as it was is over before it started. Now she can only sing in a pro-Taiwan band in Taiwan, and that's about it.
One issue I have with this is that the flag was a prop that was GIVEN to her by the people in charge, for a video. Her other band members were also holding flags representing their country (Japan) and then out of the blue this entertainer, who from what I hear is also ethnically Taiwanese, starts putting Tzuyu in the middle of a political argument that as a 16 year old she has nothing to do with. I am a fan of Twice (Tzuyus band) and for them to penalize her for the managements mistake is awful.
From what I've heard someone GAVE her the flag. It wasn't like she decided on her own which flag to hold up. She's taiwanese, so the producers gave her a taiwanese flag.
Can you guys also make a video about a Taiwanese actor, Show Luo, who was attacked by tons of Taiwanese netizens because he identified himself as Chinese?
Twice "Ohh Ahh" is my JAM!!! I feel bad for her she looks like she was on the verge of tears saying this fabricated apology filled with stuff I don't think she feels
As a close study of history, and travelling to M/L China 2/3 times per year I can say with confidence the atmosphere is like Germany 1930s... the nationalism is scary.
The background explanation was somewhat alright, but for someone like me who hasn't heard anything at all about this issue before now, the entire conversation results a little unclear, I would be great if you guys explained everything of the story background beforehand before going into discussing your thoughts and opinions, so that people may also form their own opinions.
basically, it's like this. Tzuyu is a member of a Korean based girl group called Twice. The girl group is under a popular entertainment company called JYP and the group debuted not that long ago but has still managed to gain a lot of popularity very quickly. In November of last year, the group appeared on a a broadcast called My Little Television. In one segment of the show, because the group is made of many different nationalities they were told to hold up flags to show the viewers where each member was born. Tzuyu was given a Taiwanese flag by the prop director and she was told to hold that up instead of a People's Republic of China flag (for mainland China). Huang An, who is a Taiwanese and Chinese singer saw her holding up that flag and then went on weibo (a twitter-like site in China) to complain and accuse her of being anti-chinese and pro Taiwanese. She got a lot of backlash from that and many Chinese were against her and anything to do with her (a.k.a her whole company) so Twice was banned from promoting in China as well as any other artist under JYP entertainment. Because China is a big market for Korean music, JYP made Tzuyu apologize on camera so the hate could simmer down. Many people say JYP should not have made her apologize and instead the company should have handled the issue themselves, not force a 16 year old to do something like this. There is more but that's the basics of it .
Thanks for making this video about a controversial topic! I am Taiwanese by birth but I grew up in the US. For the past 3-4 months I've been living in Taiwan, and wow did the apology video circulate the web. I appreciate the First Amendment rights in the US Constitution a lot more now... I will add that this issue runs a little bit deeper than you guys mentioned. It's not quite as serious an issue as the Confederate flag is in the US, at least as far as I can tell given my short stay over here, but the whole thing is similar to what I would imagine would happen if an American singer was called out for holding up a Confederate flag. Basically, it's a little more serious than simply representing one's home country.
That creepy old entertainer tweeting out that pic and stirring this controversy up in the first place should be ashamed of himself. Way to bully a teenager girl.
Thank you guys for making this video It's so sad and disgusting that this poor 16 year old girl is getting hated on so much by the media who's blowing this up, social media, and fucking idiots who overreact & make accusations she's a freaking entertainer I know it's sensitive & contreversial but seriously? People need to think & JYP her company screwed her over more by making her do that what a mess
As the other girls used flags of UN recognized countries, using a flag from a government who PRC was is civil war with 70year ago still leads to political turmoil. Bella rising flag tattoo controversy, there are still a lot of hurt from the wars. Everglow non-bowing Chinese, cultural difference still creates problems, only time and intermingling will fix it.
So glad you guys did a video on this. I've been waiting for more information on this topic. I think it's crazy that this girl was forced to denounce her beliefs.
Honestly, I think they shouldn't have let her hold the flag anyways. If she's gonna hold the Taiwan flag, she's gonna upset many Chinese people and if she did hold the China flag, she's gonna upset many Taiwanese people as well....I still have no idea why China has to ban Taiwanese singers who promote Taiwan independence, why are they so sensitive? :(
Oh Sehun All of the other girls in the group held flags from where they were born. The Korean and Japanese members held flags...so why is it her fault? She was on a show and the gave her the flag. Like its a show and a prop so people should shut up and let her be.
@@jeansabroso694 it's mostly I think the home the most I guess claim. If I am remember correctly Mina is half American but I believe she's like japan raised. Or mostly japanese culture influenced. So that be the flag they would give her. She's isn't like say Aliee who's straight up from NY and it's obvious. Plus it's also a show so they make mistakes or didn't care enough
I heard that they weren't going to have her apologize at first, but then JYP's stocks in China started going down. Then she was (I think) blacklisted there and then Korean companies didn't even want to work with them because those Korean companies want to eventually expand to China, so then they had her say the apology. *don't take my word on this, this is just what I heard*
Another point to mention is that Tzuyu was on a TV show when she was holding the Taiwan flag. The flag was given to her by the TV staff, and it wasn't really a personal decision of hers at all. And yes, Tzuyu is in a legally binding contract with JYP that she can't leave for a number of years without a lawsuit. Thanks for this sympathetic video! Gives me hope that not all mainland Chinese people are not out for Taiwanese blood lol. Sometimes it seems that way to me, on the internet.
Just to put it to a contrast: here in Finland people and especially the officials wouldn't react so badly even if you rocked a russian flag. Even though Russia occupied our country a hundred years ago and tried to take it back afterwards. Think that for a second. The taiwanese people didn't go to China and kill them in masses and take all their country and make them pay war reprisals. I know asians have a different culture regarding both personal and national independence and I respect that for what it is, but... you just can't force people forever. Flowers bloom best in nature, not in jars. Just like people like freedom.
Mikko S. If you ever get around to reading this... There are several differences from your analogy. First, PRC and ROC are still technically in a war. Sure it doesn't really matter to regular citizens, but to the government that technicality is a major difference. Second, Taiwan didn't gain its current status from its own abilities. If the US Pacific Fleet hadn't parked itself in the Taiwan Strait for decades, the ROC would have been wiped out back in the 50s. Vietnam and Korea, for example, acquired its independence from China using their own military might and strength. It is felt that Taiwan got its current situation undeservedly. Thus, the Taiwan situation is always a hot button topic.
@@happynewyear6240 Who doesn't? And even THAT version of the PRC had absolute superiority when compared to the ROC. A country's level of development is measured by per capita, but a country's overall strength is measured by aggregate.
she did not do wrong. She is just 16 years old. I want to say to her "It's not your fault. You don't have to apologize anymore. You are not alone. So, please be strong and do your job as you used to do before." I really want to hug her.
Seeing what American performers do, without any kind of repercussions and then seeing what a little girl had to do to protect her career and the company she worked for -- just for holding a flag in a picture, makes me better appreciate the freedom we have in the US. What a horrible situation for both her and her company.
Actually, you guys don't live in Taiwan, you don't know the situation. According to any survey, the pro-independent candidate as you said, will win the election, no matter the Tzuyu-event happened or not. After the debate, may be her poll number dropped a little bit, but it was still way higher than other candidates. Though this event did draw everyone's attention and undeniably effected the election, the result was not change anyway. Things I want to say is, the possibility that this is a conspiracy is pretty low, because who's gonna win is gonna win.
+Yoohri Pto I was wondering: does the anti-Taiwan independence candidate(s) get a large percentage of the public vote? It would not appear to be such a popular view that the pro-Taiwan independence side would need a conspiracy to win the Presidential election in Taiwan.
+kidpax I'll show you the vote: Tsai Ing-wen got 6,894,744. Chu Li-luan got 3,813,365. Soong Chu-yu got 1,576,861. And it is not a popular view that this is a conspiracy, I don't know where you got it from. I think it's just a excuse, so the supporter of failed candidates have some thing to blame on.
The conspiracy is mentioned by the two in the video. I thought such an idea is ludicrous, since most Taiwanese would seem to be pro-independence anyway.
+kidpax Obviously a bit to nice to China in the end still. Such conspiracy can only come up from some people that consume weird substances... how should you even make a company ruine it's own businesses. Conspiracy theories are in general the biggest crap and come from oversimplification and poor judgement of real human interaction....
i appreciate you guys making this video because i didn't understand what the hell was going on. now i do and i hope that Tzuyu and all of Sixteen is doing ok.
Guys, but this is nothing short of perfect!!!! There is no better way to say "the PRC is an evil dictatorship, Taiwan rocks!" then to stage an "apology", a super artificially humble and choreographed apology... READ FROM PAPER, obviously scripted, in front of a cold, gray wall... an apology felt EXACTLY as confessions during Soviet times felt. People back then were made to read staged faux confessions and apologies during show trials about how they were "working to subvert the Party, in league with the capitalist exploiters to betray the interests of the Labour Class". This all was of course insincere and totally artificial, staged by the party courts in order to spread communist propaganda. Had these people dared to say anything else, it would have meant a one way train ticket to the nearest Gulag... and this is exactly the vibe I am getting from her "confession that China is one and that is the PRC." - a staged, show, forced confession, on demand of a tyranical government. I am only sorry that the people in the West did not "get this", I mean, it is SO OBVIOUS to me as a person from a post communist country. And I would vager that this is also quite clear to any PRC citizen with half a brain. So IMHO she has done a thing that is both very chinese (indirectly pointing out the real message, intelligently hidden behind the "obvious") and very brave (because the establishment people will obviously understand the slap and will hate her for it).
I've always knows taiwan as a separate country... Btw she was just 16 then.. Why would u do this to a teen/child.. She cant even vote yet.. Why cant you hold up your own flag?? Political stans should b personal choice.. Why even you hold election then?
She also did not have the choice to choose which flag to represent her nationality; The prop's "director" person that is responsible for the program's props for the guests gave that flag to her (whether or not she supports it) just as he also gave MoMo, Sana, and Mina Japanese flags to hold up. Not to mention she held up the flag for 3 seconds... maybe not even that long...
I don't know a lot about pro taiwanese and so on but I think that this reaction is rather harsh and unthoughtful . She was just holding a flag and not running around proclaiming that she hates China or sth like that. In a way JYP didn't handle the situation too well. (Tho I understand how important the chinese market is for korean music since they make a lot of money there) I dunno. I do feel bad for the girl.
+Nina Szabo Chinese ppl didn't make her apologize, her company did and chinese ppl are only boycotting her company because we want to stand up for what we believe in!
+Nina Szabo So for those who've never lived in PR China or have dealt with China- that';s just tip of iceberg of what it's like to be dealing, or worse, living in this one party authoritarian regime. Our everyday notions of basic civil liberties and freedoms of speech simply do not exist. People "disappear" everyday in China, you can be detained, arrested and sentenced without trial, without access for legal aids. They can seize your assets, properties, empty your bank accounts in one day. There's NO rule of law in China. It's the Rule of Lawlessness.
+mediatapwater it sounds really hard. Even though I've seen a few documetaries about the lawlessness in China you never really grasp it unless you've experienced it yourself. Something should be done but I suppose because of Chinas economical strenghs and it's worldleading position (regardless how they were able to achieve it in the 1st place) no one dares to intervene.

There's so much injustice and cruelty in the world. But I guess- a very cliche thing to say- by neither giving up nor giving in, things get better glass half full what not
But I thought most countries don't even recognize that Taiwan is an independent state / country, this topic is so senstive I don't even know anymore eish :(.
you guys should know this too.. That flag she's holding is not even hers,it's for a show called little television and of course (as an idol) she just came and do what she's told to do, she was given a flag just like the other members to represent her country and without thinking further the producers just gave her a taiwanese flag and she did what she was told.. No one notices that though, that small flag she's holding until that old jerky TAIWANESE actor mentioned that and uses his popularity to gain even more popularity through this.. I mean that old man is just cruel, who would think a 16 year old was supporting political events and such.. sigh.. poor baby tzuyu
As an entertainer making a name for herself, there is no way she can gather momentum if she would have gone against her record company. Those mega record companies control and influence most of the industry, especially when she is only 16 and just starting out. I can see someone with years and years of established fame going against their company and really stand up for their beliefs and it has happened before, even then their career would take a dive with backlash. Sure you have the side that supports you but overall your career does not go anywhere without the big market that is Mainland China. Not saying you should not stand up for what you believe. But I understand where she is coming from.
She’s definitely not gonna leave her group twice is one of the biggest girl groups out there they’re the nations girl group which also probably has to do a lot with why she had to do this this is an old video and I’m still bitter about this subject she was asked to hold up a flag she was basically given a Taiwanese flag to hold up just as the other girls were given Japanese flags to hold up
“Not going to leave her group….” Update 2022.07.22: All 9 TWICE have signed new contracts replacing their 2015 7-year contracts for minors in K-POP with new ALL ADULT- ALL GENRES contracts. Details still TBA.
I think in a very difficult situation, she picked a very open and diplomatic solution that took some courage to do. I'm sure the band she is in supports her and understands it was not intentional.
was on facebook. saw that stuff. clicked. read. reaction (wtf... big deal...) Next day... facebook again. saw a different kind. clicked. read. alright wtf is happening... why the fuk are people so bitthurt about a girl holding/waving a flag.... But I feel for her... Hope this stuff doesn't last long, I really like them (Twice) so I will support no matter wut
TBH, most taiwanese celebrities really work hard on developing Chinese market to gain a huge fanbase there, and probably a lot of them do need to. They come to China for concerts and other activities that bring them more fans and consumers. I have heard a lot of taiwanese celebrities saying things like they identify themselves as Chinese. I am sure that a lot of them are not telling their true thoughts, but I totally understand that and what the girl did and said were also understandable, not right or wrong. Sometimes people just can't be too honest.
The Taiwan economy is basically completely reliant on the Mainland. Think about it. Does Taiwan have access to untapped natural resources? Does Taiwan have a large manufacturing base? Do they have giant conglomerates in hi-tech? Do they even have enough land to feed their 23.5 million people? The answer to all that is no. Thus, just like working in any field, it is considered taboo to talk about politics. As long as you are not making any political statements you can easily cultivate the larger mainland market.
I'm from Taiwan and I just want to give Tzuyu a hug... and what she had to say in the apology was just too... ridiculous. ITS A FLAG!!!! CHILL! I feel sorry for her, she just gave up her identity.
I just don't understand why a Kpop star from Taiwan have to say she's from China. Every Asian countries are only one as they said. Taiwanese should be proud where they came from, show no shame whichever country whose born. China doesn't owe Taiwan. Taiwan is number one, like Brasil, USA, etc are number one countries. I don't see why Tzuyu cannot show off her origin country. China haters should mind y'all business & leave Taiwanese ppls alone.
Is it really fair for this poor girl that taiwanese medias use her to provoke Chinese and now use her again to ask the whole world for sympathy? I don't even care whether Taiwan is independent or not. But some Taiwanese, please stop swearing at every Chinese you see. Tired of this crap.
I swear, whenever I watch videos uploaded with simplified chinese titles on UA-cam, you will see the comment section littered with verbal assault by Taiwanese. The comment section then soon became their political battleground and it has absolute zero relevance to the content originally uploaded by this UA-camr. This became so annoying everytime I see them attacking like trolls.
poor tzuyu, all she did was say she was taiwanese (because she is) and waved a flag for 3 seconds on tv. She has no control over what country she is from then they just drag her into this political situation that she wasn't even a part of. she is only 16.
Non Chinese people, if you don't understand the whole thing between Mainland and Taiwan, just leave them alone. This is not about humanity, this girl is used by the political party and the media speaks only for this party. If you think she is the only reason that caused this trouble, you are been fooled and you are biased.
Guys,I don't even know her and never heard of her before. But now she's famous. And if things really happened as it seems to be, what kind of an apology is that? I mean u need a note to apologize? Oh, and with a "I'm forced to do this" face. The whole thing seems like an organized chaos to me. The internet got broke, people of all sides are happy cause they finally found a way to express their furious mind, the girl got famous no matter how. And the company never come out to defend the girl. Have brain. Hopefully my theory could be seen more.
Man i feel sorry for Tzuyu. But the problem is people should go after JYP and Taiwan media instead of Chinese people. At the very beginning, no body knows her really. But Taiwan media makes her a symbol or political propaganda of independence. And JYP's arrogance and ignorance really makes things worse. But as a 16 year old girl, it is really sorry for that girl to be attached with politics by its own people.
Do you know why this girl and her company cannot stand up for what they believe? Becoz they want to reap profits from the huge Chinese market. You want to make money in mainland China, at least pay some respect to Chinese people's boundary. No respect, no business. Free market after all. Btw, its never China oppressing a 16-year-old Taiwanese artist, but her own company JYP.
What I see is a child being abused by the media, the government and her entertainment company. It is very sad. Of course we have done the same to many children in entertainment in America as well. I hope that she will heal and recover from this ordeal.
I remember when I was about 8 years old, there was a boy in my class from Taiwan and I asked if Taiwan was in China or something along them lines and he said 'no' and I said, 'but aren't you Chinese'. I was so confused and being an 8 year old, I always asked him questions about this and only when I grew up I realised how ignorant and stupid I sounded. I wish I could meet him again and just apologise. I find my ignorance funny though, I want to laugh at myself haha. But on a serious note, I support her. I'm the same age as Tzuya and I know I would be pressured if I was in her position. I'd want to speak my feelings out, but at the same time, I would have all of China up against me and I would be a public figure so my whole life could potentially be affected by something like this. What I'd want to do is go to the guy who pointed out the fact that she held up the flag of Taiwan and just PUNCH HIM. Because honestly, he is much older than her, shouldn't he realise that he is being a massive bully and maybe HE should apologise since HE technically is the one who started it all. He picked on a 16 year old girl. He should be ashamed of causing such havoc.
This thing started with a Taiwanese singer(Huang An) blaming Tzuyu for being pro-Taiwan Independence, then a South Korean company(JYP Entertainment) forced her to make a video to apologize, and now you guys are blaming mainland Chinese for this entire mess? Moreover, nobody in mainland China are attacking Tzuyu, actually, mainland Chinese also feel bad for her, they are only attacking those Taiwanese medias who are using Tzuyu as a pro-Taiwan Independence propaganda.
Actually, there were Chinese who attacked her, sending her death threats, calling her insults, and even going so far as to photoshop her face on sexually explicit photos. They even demanded that Tzuyu make an apology.
+Gerui Wang well... the problem is...he deserve it... he is taiwanese and he did something stupid... he deserve the blame from his own kind... mainlander should really start to educate their own kind before they attack and blame others not accepting them...
Jamaica Wong What happened to respecting other's belief? Plus, Taiwan belongs to Republic of China which means it is not wrong for him to identify himself as Chinese.
Gerui Wang well... he was born in Taiwan... if he identify himself as Taiwanese Chinese... things will turn out differently! I respect that you believe that Taiwan belong to PPC... and i am asking for the same thing back from you... respect that I believe Taiwan is not part of PPC and i have freedom of speech that I enjoy very much... I have the right to say whatever I believe and if don’t like it... walk away. I am here to express my feeling... not starting a keyboard war base on different political belief.
Guys, I'd like to say some things here. For one, I don't care if she's doing the right thing or not, she was stupid to hold that flag. Yes, she had courage and pride, but it was still an idiotic move. She really should have known how many Chinese would be angered at her. Yes, she's standing up for her nation. That doesn't mean it's smart to do so. She is facing her consequences by reading that apology letter. I am blaming JYP for the most part though; letting an underage girl talk about politics is silly. She is acting like a frog in a well. Secondly, Taiwan is an autonomous territory belonging to China. BY LAW, the Taiwanese are technically Chinese (I'm not saying Taiwanese aren't Taiwanese. They're Chinese in a general term). That's like saying that Hawaiians aren't American because native Hawaiians had there land sold to the USA and "it isn't fair; we had no say, so we aren't American!" I'm a Mainlander, and I will say that I don't approve of a lot of things that the PRC does, but I'm not going to deny I'm Chinese just because I dislike the government ruling the Mainland. Hell, the United Nations doesn't even allow Taiwan to join because they are not a country. They do not meet all the requirements. To be perfectly honest, Taiwan is basically ruling themselves. They live under their own government, own flag, own borders. What's there to complain? Nothing would be different if they annexed except that they'd loose a lot of global popularity. Taiwan belongs to China, but not the PRC. To state it again: I do not under any circumstances like the whole of the People's Republic of China, however I love China.
I am Chinese and I am on weibo. I am against the independence of Taiwan. But I support human rights, including the freedom of speech. If Tzuyu supports independence of China, fine, just don't come to mainland anymore bc we'll not support her at all. We don't need an insincere apology, just don't come to China.
Freshie55 I support Taiwan and I respect Taiwanese.. But I do not support the independence of Taiwan, especially people who say bad things about the mainland to make Taiwan look good.
+misterslegend people grew up in the mainland have learned Taiwan is part of our big family, and we need to support each other. Taiwan is like a brother that we want to keep, and we don't what our motherland to loose any of her children. But most of the young generation of Taiwanese were taught mainland Chinese are all poor and rude, like we can't afford ramen noodles or eggs and everything we eat is poison. So they are ashamed to say they are Chinese.
哥哥 chen and now you know her, you care. thats why you got angry and called her names. if you truly didn't care you wouldn't be here posting hate comments am I right
My two cents on this matter is that the political position of Taiwan is the reason why this is happening. The context of this problem is that Taiwan is NOT recognized as an independent nation separate from China by not only mainland China itself, but ALSO because certain Western nations do not expressly recognize Taiwan as a sovereign nation politically - one of those countries is America! While America does sell Taiwan military goods, it still does not recognize it as a sovereign nation officially. Those of us who understand the politics of the East to some degree understand how Taiwan is actually in political limbo. On one hand, they are unofficially a separate nation independent of China, but on the other hand, they're not. It has everything to do with history, going back particularly to European Imperialism and the colonization of China leading up to the Chinese Civil War and the exile of ROC from China to Taiwan. The political climate of Taiwan being in limbo is the ingredient for this storm.
+P. Shin APU UC The US has taken an ambiguous position - they recognize Beijing as the gov't of China - yet promised to support Taiwan against Chinese aggression - that's can't be interpreted as simply as you'd like to think - that position can be blamed on the timidity of Pres Jimmy Carter - most American's don't realize that this "official" position - and regard Taiwan as a separate country
John Eyon That's why it is important that if American citizens are interested in this world event and want to be truly informed, they have to do their own research, and not just believe what they see in the media. The Taiwanese government may be politically based in Democracy, but they're not above pushing their own political agenda through political propaganda via their own media sources. In essence, be careful what you all see! It is not telling the ENTIRE TRUTH. People have to dig into the bowels of history to know the FULL CONTEXT of why there is contention. Make no mistake about it, it is a political pissing match between communist China versus non-communist China. At its core, that's what it is. Taiwan's citizens are really not that isolated from mainland Chinese citizens. There is A LOT of interchange between the citizens of these two political entities. If Taiwan separates from the mainland, to me, it is Taiwan not wanting to face up. They are, in my eyes chickening out. Taiwan's act of wanting separation, is an act of cowardice and selfishness in my eyes. It just says to me that they're only interested in their own Democracy, but are unwilling to have the Democracy be a part of China - which was the original goal of the KMT - the political party that originated in China and which later founded Taiwan when it was exiled. The KMT was ORIGINALLY China's government, but it never had an opportunity to establish itself in China. There was too much in-house fighting and instability for democracy to establish in China. If the KMT won the Chinese Civil War, there would NOT be any talks of Hong Kong or Taiwan wanting to have no part with the mainland. They'd all be ONE ENTITY/COUNTRY - CHINA.
P. Shin APU UC That's why i gave you the responses i did - pointing out your many errors - its because i'm a curious and studious american who has learned to see beyond your mistakes i never mentioned taiwan's media - and it doesn't matter - every country has biased media - but some countries allow alternate sources - and that's why Taiwan is considered freer than China Americans have access to sources that Chinese don't when it comes to studying China and Taiwan - which again points to western superiority to China - which allows me to investigate and find flaws in the Chinese narrative about Taiwan and since I'm an philosophically free - i can evaluate the situation between Taiwan and China - and take a side - which is Taiwan btw - there's a lot of interchange between the US and Iran - doesn't mean they are alike - ie - you're promoting a fallacy if you think that the interchange between China and Taiwan makes them the same country - (that notion is riotously funny - LOL!!
We don't hate her for waving a Taiwanese Flag A lot of Taiwanese celebrities do that. We hate her for calling us 'Chinese pigs', which I guess is very reasonable.
+Zoe Zhou She has to be a pig, a pretty one though, she's a pig with lipstick on her snout. Every year, Tzuyu goes to her ancestral family farm in China to sweep her ancestors' pigsty, a'ight ?
leo jones Oh you poor fanboy....Chinese, in the sense of ethnic group, all do that because it is the tradition. It doesn't have to be that she really believes she's a Chinese in the sense of nationality. And I don't really know why she said that 'Chinese pig' stuff, but she did.
At the end of the day, she is young and impressionable...I don't know her background but I don't even think that she even has a political stance one way or another, she just waved a flag.....But Chinese netizens decided to make an issue out of nothing and her management company freaked out at the prospect of losing their share of the Chinese market if they got banned so they forced her to apologise.......
Plz... get to know the whole and true story b4 saying : she just waved a flag, and Chinese citizens decided to make a big issue out of noting ...🌚. It was never because of a flag my friend :) A few might see unclearly but it doesn't mean the whole nation is blind.
Ale_since 1995 I don't think you fully understood my statement...My comment wasn't that the whole situation was nothing, I was saying that as far as Tzuyu's was concerned at the time of the flag waving, this wasn't an issue until people made it into one......
I am from mainland China,we are ok with that she waved the flag of Repulic China.but if she really believed that China is China,Taiwan is Taiwan, she shouldn't come to mainland China to make money.this is the point
1. The girl was waving a flag of Republic of China, not a flag of Taiwan. Taiwan is not an independent country. 2. If it’s not some pro Taiwan independence media (San Li, Apple Daily…) using the girl as propaganda, most people from mainland China don’t know who the girl is and no one cares what she did. It is okay to wave a flag of Republic of China as this is how she was educated after all. However, her company’s stand provoked Chinese netizens. JYP stated that it cannot choose between China and Taiwan. Mainland China people are not fool. Who will buy from a company which support secession of your country? We don’t need apology, we just want to boycott the company. Then JYP made the girl to apologize to win back the Mainland China market. Rather than saying they apologized, I would say they surrender to money. Yes the girl is only 16. But what if a 16-year-old girl says South Korea belongs to North Korea? Anyway, this girl is only a victim of politics. If someone to blame, it should be her company and the media.
+Foie Chien “The Three Great Allies are fighting this war to restrain and punish the aggression of Japan. They covet no gain for themselves and have no thought of territorial expansion. It is their purpose that Japan shall be stripped of all the islands in the Pacific which she has seized or occupied since the beginning of the first World War in 1914, and that all the territories Japan has stolen from the Chinese, such as Manchuria, Formosa, and The Pescadores, shall be restored to the Republic of China. Japan will also be expelled from all other territories which she has taken by violence and greed. The aforesaid three great powers, mindful of the enslavement of the people of Korea, are determined that in due course Korea shall become free and independent." [Cairo Communique, Dec 1, 1943] Source: www.ndl.go.jp/constitution/e/shiryo/01/002_46/002_46tx.html 我可以理解你说台湾属于中华民国,你也应该尊重我认为台湾属于中华人民共和国。无论是中华民国还是中华人民共和国都承认台湾和大陆是一体。自己去看看你自己护照上印的什么,Republic of China 还是Republic of Taiwan. “Taiwan had been separated from China since they gave taiwan to Japan.” Excuse me???请问殖民地哪里来的主权?你去学好了历史再来这里说话吧。谢谢
+Foie Chien But after WW2, Japan returned Taiwan back to Republic of China. Back then, ROC was the only legitimate governing authority of China. Now it's PRC. And by convention the governing body inherits everything. Taiwan has been a part of China since 1624. Different from other nations, China is more of a cultural entity and employs Confucius principles and virtues. Chinese are raised to love family and the Chinese nation as a whole, to love the motherland as a united country for thousands of years. That's where Chinese's anger come from regarding pro Taiwan independence. What most Chinese ppl believe, TW is part of the whole big China family and could never be separated. U see, China can be run or named by PRC/ROC/China empire/china united states/China commonwealth/China emirate, just anything. That piece of land is always China, just as any other parts in mainland China, hk and Macau.
Man what a fucked up situation. I felt so bad for her when she was forced to read that obviously prewritten script.
+Herb Toker i agree, everything they do is controlled by their management, its up to the management to protect her and they didnt do so!!! she completely has to take the blame herself....its horrible...i feel so so so awful for her.
+Thekla Maria I'm sure she'll live. I don't feel bad and the apology was not sincere and did not come from the heart but hey, money talks right ?
Basically she was bullied into an apology.
Simpler version: easily butt-hurt people are so f*cking annoying and stupid.
+littlemisscupcake But then since her apology letter was so insincere that even more Chinese people started to hate her... smh
+morninghana can you share a link to the show your talking about, where Tzuyu and Jackson appeared together.
She chose to read it because of fame and money or her principles. She made her choice.
That's so immature to bring an innocent child into such a burdening and serious problem.
lol, Okinawan, thats something new...why is that?
It's that old Chinese singers fault. He bashed her on his weibo making false accusations. SHE WAS HOLDING A TAIWANESE FLAG! Like the other members in her group, they were all holding flags from where they were born from. I'm a ashamed that a senior singer would put a 16 years old(who could be his grandchild) under the bus for doing something so innocent. Makes me mad.
Her apology was obviously forced, she probably feels innocent, but then mainland china bands other jyp artists... That's what she probably feels bad about, not her actions(which she doesn't need to apologise anyway).
China...The worst country in this world..
What's wrong with them...
@@a_surbhi_7026 not everyone is bad but thats why normally lots of people hate china because they start problems.
Surbhi Singh it’s specifically the people in charge.

True...I feel so sad for her
It's nice that it was all past and now she is happy
@AldiRaffa She doesn't talk much (it's her habit) but yeah now she is careful about herself in TV shows
I'm from Taiwan.
This is what I want to see. People also being sorry for JYP having to go against China. This is hard for them to!
+Josefa Fuchs nobody can do nothing when they face to reality, this is why the video makes everyone sad

+Freshie55 I'm sorry but officially speaking, Taiwan is not an independent country yet. Plz face it
+Gerui Wang Taiwan has it's own government, so it's independent.

Same I don't think she needed to abologize but they didin't let her decide which is really sad
Don't feel bad, she only cares for the money.
+Marcy she doesn't have control over the money, she's with a company. Do you not get whay that means. People like you just irritate me, please do some research before you do or say anything.

+Marcy She cares about her future, her safety, and her family's well-being.
Next time try not to cut someone else words and interprete as you please.
uh...no. they are definitely ethnically Chinese.
yup the majority of us are ethnically Chinese with a minority Hakka and Aboriginal Taiwanese. But trust me the ethnically Chinese say they aren't from China.
deadbutmoving
Your comments are ironic given that the whole reason Taiwan still isn't under commie law is that there is a superpower on their side.
Setsuna Hikari true
Филип Брчић You forget she's 16
It kinda seems like racism, except that you're own race is racist against you because you're from a different hood.
smh. she has to apologize for her own nationality.
Can you guys also make a video about a Taiwanese actor, Show Luo, who was attacked by tons of Taiwanese netizens because he identified himself as Chinese?
+Gerui Wang They won't.
+Evan Yeung 要是也做了show luo video,这个video就跟被打脸一样喔
+carealcareal friggodin 对啊 反正他们就选择性失明咯~
Where and when did Show Luo identified himself as Chinese?
50-cent c-nets talking crap everywhere. Tzuyu was forced, and Show Luo was not. End of story.
the male who posted about it must be jealous of her success,
Twice "Ohh Ahh" is my JAM!!! I feel bad for her she looks like she was on the verge of tears saying this fabricated apology filled with stuff I don't think she feels
As a close study of history, and travelling to M/L China 2/3 times per year I can say with confidence the atmosphere is like Germany 1930s... the nationalism is scary.
TZUYU DOESN'T DESERVE THIS...... 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
+zynbw thanks kind sir.
+zynbw Oh, lol, I thought the guy that "weiboed" her was from PRC? Now this sounds more like a conspiracy than it did before. Thanks for clarifying.
+Филип Брчић No, because Huang An is a damn traitor who sold out his home country of the ROC because he was a washed up singer.
+Филип Брчић no he is from taiwan. He is not washed up but trying to flatter CCP. It turned out useless. Many mainland people also look down on him.
Thank you guys for making this video
It's so sad and disgusting that this poor 16 year old girl is getting hated on so much by the media who's blowing this up, social media, and fucking idiots who overreact & make accusations she's a freaking entertainer I know it's sensitive & contreversial but seriously? People need to think & JYP her company screwed her over more by making her do that what a mess
sorry if it seems that my comment is spamming
Like its a show and a prop so people should shut up and let her be.

weird China people she is not even from China what is your problem?
I heard that they weren't going to have her apologize at first, but then JYP's stocks in China started going down. Then she was (I think) blacklisted there and then Korean companies didn't even want to work with them because those Korean companies want to eventually expand to China, so then they had her say the apology. *don't take my word on this, this is just what I heard*
Thanks for doing a discussion on this because it's freaking ridiculous. Feel so bad for the young girl.
At first glance, I thought this was one of those ISIS videos...
@@jyashin boiiii
Just one question, do you even know how poor and impoverished China was in the 50s???
@@happynewyear6240 Who doesn't? And even THAT version of the PRC had absolute superiority when compared to the ROC. A country's level of development is measured by per capita, but a country's overall strength is measured by aggregate.
I feel so bad for Tzuyu. She's only 16, she doesn't deserve this hate.
she did not do wrong.
That's messed up, I hope she's doing okay.
+Yoohri Pto true
+Yoohri Pto I was wondering: does the anti-Taiwan independence candidate(s) get a large percentage of the public vote? It would not appear to be such a popular view that the pro-Taiwan independence side would need a conspiracy to win the Presidential election in Taiwan.
+kidpax I'll show you the vote:
Tsai Ing-wen got 6,894,744.
Conspiracy theories are in general the biggest crap and come from oversimplification and poor judgement of real human interaction....
this is the ONLY guys iv watched/read that talked sensible in this issue.
Kudos! You guys have earned another subscriber :)
i appreciate you guys making this video because i didn't understand what the hell was going on. now i do and i hope that Tzuyu and all of Sixteen is doing ok.
Tzuyu is so pretty ;A;
I've always knows taiwan as a separate country...
Sure, I'm Chinese but I was born and raised in Canada....China should idk just let go...I feel so bad for her.. Those fans are terrible!

Im glad you guys did a video on this. You are absolutely right bros.
These are one of those times when I'm glad that my Great Grandparents immigrated out of China. I like having my freedom.
But I understand where she is coming from.
oh I see the pain in her eyes :(
She’s definitely not gonna leave her group twice is one of the biggest girl groups out there they’re the nations girl group which also probably has to do a lot with why she had to do this this is an old video and I’m still bitter about this subject she was asked to hold up a flag she was basically given a Taiwanese flag to hold up just as the other girls were given Japanese flags to hold up

Its not like it was a Tibetan flag... Freedom for Tibet! mainland China is like a possessive boyfriend
+Mi Y Do you even know the history and context behind?
I think the Taiwan and china situation is similar to the union and confederacy situation. What an American would feel when they see someone holding a confederate flag is how the Chinese felt when they saw her holding the taiwanese flag. America didn't let the confederacy leave and china won't let the taiwanese leave. ps, if you are an American (civil war) or British (revolutionary war), stfu because what china is doing is exactly what you guys did.
Mei Li Y you really need to learn some history.
This became so annoying everytime I see them attacking like trolls.
poor tzuyu. She has already went through so much and now that she's finally an idol, more drama comes her way...
poor tzuyu, all she did was say she was taiwanese (because she is) and waved a flag for 3 seconds on tv.
That's just sad...
+Gd Cao And after several days, no one talks it any more.
I never knew Taiwan was a part of china, I always thought it was a country on it's own, I did'nt even know it has any ties to china today
it's a shame she has to force apology when she has done nothing wrong i wish her nothing but the best in her future stay strong girl
Poor thing =(
Do you know why this girl and her company cannot stand up for what they believe? Becoz they want to reap profits from the huge Chinese market. You want to make money in mainland China, at least pay some respect to Chinese people's boundary.
No respect, no business. Free market after all.
Btw, its never China oppressing a 16-year-old Taiwanese artist, but her own company JYP.
lol how'd u know
C-netz literally started bullying her and sending her death threats. Is that not oppression?
What I see is a child being abused by the media, the government and her entertainment company. It is very sad. Of course we have done the same to many children in entertainment in America as well. I hope that she will heal and recover from this ordeal.
“Hope she will heal and recover:” Update: Tzuyu, now 23(24), just signed a new contract with JYPE (2022.07.12)
I just hate easily butt-hurt people.
They even demanded that Tzuyu make an apology.
some people from mainland----> glass heart bullies...
+Jamaica Wong The same what Taiwanese just did when 罗志祥 identified himself as Chinese xD
+Gerui Wang well... the problem is...he deserve it... he is taiwanese and he did something stupid... he deserve the blame from his own kind... mainlander should really start to educate their own kind before they attack and blame others not accepting them...
Jamaica Wong OMG, can you hear yourself???!!!
Tzuyu just started to regain her smile back.
Thank you so much for making a video about this!
+Mistic Zhao please, why is it so important for the mainland chinese to have "one China"? I mean, most Taiwanese want to be independent, or not?
+Mistic Zhao You support human rights and freedom of speech yet you support China over Taiwan. Irony at it's best.
+misterslegend That's just what we believe in.
Foie Chien I don't even know her before this thing happened,
哥哥 chen and now you know her, you care. thats why you got angry and called her names. if you truly didn't care you wouldn't be here posting hate comments am I right
+Mandy Zhao 股东说的算咯,他们不道歉就等着股票跌咯,我们大陆人又没逼她。
I don't know her but I want to give her a hug. She looked so fragile...
Me too.
She's 16. OMG. I wanna cry with her.
+P. Shin APU UC Thanks for making an objective statement. :)
P. Shin APU UC
That's why i gave you the responses i did - pointing out your many errors - its because i'm a curious and studious american who has learned to see beyond your mistakes
i never mentioned taiwan's media - and it doesn't matter - every country has biased media - but some countries allow alternate sources - and that's why Taiwan is considered freer than China
Americans have access to sources that Chinese don't when it comes to studying China and Taiwan - which again points to western superiority to China - which allows me to investigate and find flaws in the Chinese narrative about Taiwan
and since I'm an philosophically free - i can evaluate the situation between Taiwan and China - and take a side - which is Taiwan
btw - there's a lot of interchange between the US and Iran - doesn't mean they are alike - ie - you're promoting a fallacy if you think that the interchange between China and Taiwan makes them the same country - (that notion is riotously funny - LOL!!
Hank Chinaski
an anti-semite ant-zionist would never be electred POTUS - so China isn't worried about your threats
Just to correct you, she did more than "just held a flag"
We don't hate her for waving a Taiwanese Flag A lot of Taiwanese celebrities do that. We hate her for calling us 'Chinese pigs', which I guess is very reasonable.
+Zoe Zhou So that means Tzuyu was calling herself a pig too, right?
+leo jones Not according to her
+Zoe Zhou She has to be a pig, a pretty one though, she's a pig with lipstick on her snout.
And I don't really know why she said that 'Chinese pig' stuff, but she did.
what a lie,facker
It's scary to see how a simple flag can start all this.
+Mashed Egg Taiwan is not an independent country doesn't mean its part of China. Taiwan had been separated from China since they gave taiwan to Japan.
+Foie Chien
“The Three Great Allies are fighting this war to restrain and punish the aggression of Japan. The aforesaid three great powers, mindful of the enslavement of the people of Korea, are determined that in due course Korea shall become free and independent."

我可以理解你说台湾属于中华民国,你也应该尊重我认为台湾属于中华人民共和国。无论是中华民国还是中华人民共和国都承认台湾和大陆是一体。自己去看看你自己护照上印的什么,Republic of China 还是Republic of Taiwan.
U see, China can be run
or named by PRC/ROC/China empire/china united states/China commonwealth/China emirate, just anything. That piece of land is always China, just as any other parts in mainland China, hk and Macau.
