Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I’ll look into this issue on my machines.

No probs.... just make sure the earth cable nut is well tightened to the metal case from the earth of the mains power supply. I probably should have spent more time talking about correct grounding with appliances, but I just slapped this video together really quickly.

Maybe they were worried that since it creates extreme vibration, the ground attached to the plug component should be soldered. Thanks for opening yours. I got my second hand as a return so want to check mine out too.

Nope! Your grounding is faulty! The bolt goes through the plastic body of the power terminal, and the plastic can change dimensions with temperature and aging, making the connection loose. A suitable ground terminal should be a stud or flat terminal (same as the other end of your ground wire), resistance welded or riveted to the body. Also, if the housing consists of several parts, each of them must have a welded or pressed terminal. In this case, the ground wire must be a one piece with crimped terminals for each connection.

OK, I see what you're saying... So a better option would be for a earthing bolt or stud to be fixed directly to the metal casing and earthed, not to the power supply plastic first then the frame due to your listed factors. I get that, however, in my view the risk of incorrect grounding is still there if the nut loosens in either instance. In my case, the nut is tight, and the earthing wire was firmly connected to the metal case which therefore does what it is intended to do. And the chance of the earthing wire becoming loose at either the screw end or the spade connector end without direct human manipulation is next to zero. This is why I can see no issue with the grounding on this appliance.

Thanks for this video John. I put a comment about it on the zerofrictioncyling Ultrasonic Clean and Chain Preparation video. UA-cam keeps deleting my comments with links otherwise I would have given you them. Don't ask ZFC to test 'Ride Mechanic Bike Milk' 🙂

Not a problem... thanks for giving me insight into this whole issue in the first place. Sounds like ZFC don't like the Bike Milk. :)

@@jelreviews Your Welcome. Bike Milk isn't on the public list of ZFC tested products. It might be a really good lube ? Adam currently has no time for requests being super busy with private commercial testing. ZFC was supposed to be a hobby business !
His reply to my comment is interesting, given the large number of chains he ultrasonically preps.
