Even now, this is one of the most beautifully animated scenes in a video game. Square has made some of the most memorable moments in games

I love how even this dance keeps with the game's theme of spirals and cyclical movement. Spinning her arms, staff, and body in circular manners is just amazing symbolism I never caught my first few times.

My husband had this game (back when we were still friends at the time), and I had come over to hang out, and he was playing this game, and I saw this scene. I was awed at the scene: the music, the emotion, the amount of detail...
...it was at that moment that I wanted to play this wonderful game. That one scene got me back into Final Fantasy after at least a decade of not playing the franchise (since at least FFIV...)

I will never forget the first time I saw this scene - I was honestly in tears at how beautiful it was. It's a credit to the design team that at that moment those weren't just pixels on a screen - there was emotional investment in the characters, their cause, and the gift she was giving in bringing peace to that village. It's rare to find such gorgeous storytelling in video games so I really treasure the little moments like this.

X and VII will always be my favorite Final Fantasies personally. I do love many of the others, but X and VII are just so special to me, I honestly hate it when people compare them and put either of them down, their both amazing in their own way. This is one of my favorite scenes of all time, it's breath taking. The emotion, the music, everything, I saw this before I played the game actually and wondered why everyone was crying. Now I understand...this scene for me is both beautiful and sad.

The song is called 'Hymn of the Faith'...you hear it throughout the game, mostly in the temples of Yevon. It had been a long time since I played a Final Fantasy game, and watching this scene made me fall in love with the series all over again. Voice acting, a GORGEOUS scene, and that song...it sticks with you. (And I am ashamed to say I have not played FF7...)

FFX was my first game ever... I think this cutscene made me absolutely fall in love with gaming. Instead of starting with a racer or FPS I can't believe I picked a game with an amazing story, mindblowing plot twists, characters I really cared about and could watch developing, and deep themes like love, life and death. Sharing Tidus's "holy shit" moment when the flames turned blue was a great introduction to the potential of video games :) 10 years, and it's still ridiculously beautiful.

I told him I'd played VIII, he told me the next time he got a copy of X in he'd save it for me. He did, and I played it, which made me understand why Yuna was so girly and happy in X-2. In a way, I'm glad that I played X-2 first, because it meant Yuna was happy after X

Can't seem to find this level of devotion to a fantasy tale in any game lately... It is a shame most video game developers lost their souls amidst all the HD demands of this generation.
