    I have gone away from wood to used highway guardrail. I use 2-7/8" oil field tubing for posts, just drive them 5' deep. I have rebuilt my corrals three times in my life. And I thought the first time would outlive me. Love new gravel. I had some soggy spots that I under filled with crushed concrete then put 3/4- over the top. That worked well. Good luck on your corral rebuild.

    WD40, if you're reading these - product placement for all my favorite farm channels is working. I'm genuinely using the contact cleaner in my electronics shop and it works quite well. Thanks for helping out these channels!!

    That was a great, practical demonstration of how WD-40 products can work to a customer's benefit. I think you should find some other useful demonstrations utilizing their products. The proof is in the pudding, and you just served up an easy to understand scoop. Thanks Ryan.

    Another excellent video Ryan. It's always a pleasure when you address us directly by looking at the camera. You are improving greatly since in your early videos you rarely if ever looked at the camera! Your JCB may just be the most beneficial, multi purpose vehicle on the farm. Let's ask JCB what else they can bring down for you to evaluate!!! Lovely video Ryan. Great Job Again.

    I like seeing things being improved, that gravel looks a lot cleaner. Use those tracks to pack it down.

    • @Greg_Gatsby

      I was just thinking he needs a pull-type roller to compact and smooth the gravel. Then he can use the roller next spring to roll soybeans after they're planted to get better contact with the soil and flatten the rows. That makes for easier harvesting because you can set the header lower and get those low-growing bean pods. And who doesn't like increased yields?

    I remember the first time I sprayed the tracks on my shed door , next day I came out to open things up and gave it the usual massive pull it took to open the door and sent it flying down the track and nearly shot it off the end . LOL

    Ryan, you need to build you an old fashioned drag out of railroad ties to smooth out your gravel. When I was growing up we used one to smooth out our gravel road and driveway.

    • @ronaldlee2376
      @ronaldlee2376 3 роки тому

      Chain link fence works very well, as it does for breaking up dirt clods for seeding new lawn, pond bank, etc. When finished roll up & toss in corner of shed for next time. Failed to mention, using cement blocks for ballast, if needed.

  • @lovejcdc
    @lovejcdc 3 роки тому +1

    I'm sure you probably already have a plan for posts but I would very strongly recommend using railroad ties for the main post. They are absolutely the best and toughest post you can use and they last for at least a couple decades if not longer. Just a little thought

    Its nice seeing the JCB go back to work again, but its even nicer seeing you get to work on the lower drive lane and that ledge for the old fence line. I know you guys have been wanting to fix that up for a while so I can only imagine how nice that must feel to finally get it done. At least you won't have to worry about sliding down the hill in the frozen mud as much anymore! Great video as always! Love the cinematic shots you get!

    The one thing I don't like about those cans of WD40, is there is no 'disable' on the spray top. So, if you put it in your toolbox/vehicle/etc, there is nothing stopping the release button being pressed and it emptying it's contents all over you stuff. The spray and straw option cap is great, but it NEEDS a disable switch, that stops accidental releases.

    One of these years you and Travis should consider a used class-4 or class-5 bulldozer for regrading and clearing trees and bushes. The low-boy trailer to move it from farm to farm can double for hauling hay and fodder bales. It's inevitable tha as you pick-up more land, you'll be farther afield and road-traveling.

      A company the size of WD-40 isn't worried about the cost of a few cans. When they send out promo material, they usually send out at least a case of each product straight from the warehouse.
      How much Ryan is getting in terms of financial compensation from WD-40 is probably private, but i highly doubt it's 20k. probably a few thousand at best. His videos average 100k views or less. That's not much for a company the size of WD-40.

    Actually nuclear missiles-- though Atlas was used for a space launch rocket (including the Mercury orbital manned spacecraft) came later. WD-40 or "water displacer #40" was developed to help clean connections and prevent corrosion on Atlas missiles, which was the United States' first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). They were a "balloon tank" missile developed by Karel Bossart, which used a thin stainless steel shell rolled from thin stainless steel sheets and welded together to construct the missile's propellant tanks, which instead of using heavy stiffener rings, operated identically to how a car tire works-- internal pressure keeps the structure rigid, like a blown-up balloon, which can then support the weight of hundreds of tons of propellant and the weight and acceleration forces of a several thousand pound nuclear warhead and reentry vehicle atop the rocket, the same way the pressure of compressed air in a tire can support thousands of pounds of weight of the vehicle and cargo.
    Had skip the 4:52 second WD-40 commercial... FFS I like WD-40 but seriously, nearly 5 minutes of shilling for it?? LOL:) Later! OL J R:)
