This video's timing is perfect! Those MCD shades are perfect for the projector (we has an asus zenbeam s2) in my van, and I love how perfect yours came out. I've also been planning out LEDs to replace the old lighting. Thanks for the tips and inspiration!
This is going to be a killer van! Love that lighting! Also, only girls rely on portable BT speakers! Real men have systems! Call me sexist if you must, but you know it’s true.
Howdy. Its actually just an upholstery fabric that I've glued to landau foam. www.sailrite.com/Magnolia-Home-Brighton-Grey-54-Fabric Thanks for watching!
Excellent video, thanks for the tips! I am planning a similar setup myself, but also want to use the projector as an extra screen for my laptop. How well does the Kodak handle brightness? Does the van need to be more or less completely blacked out, or could you use it during the daytime with some windows not covered?
I've got a small window about 3 feet to the right and leaving it open makes things a bit washed out. I'd say I could read/write emails and stuff, but looking at details, or enjoying watching movies wouldn't be very fun. If it was sunny and the divider curtain or front windshield wasn't covered it would probably start bordering on no emails as well. The van has been inside during the build so my opinion may change a bit after I start using it. Thanks for watching!
Lighting is something often overlooked, or under lit. Do you have enough light to read a book for a few hours without added eye strain? (or is that even a goal for you?)
Yeah, the light in this van I think is adaquette, althought it is definitely a personal preference. I do have 3 extra little reading/spot lights that can be used to supplement...guess I should have talked about those.
You're giving me too many ideas too late in my van conversion. 😂
You’re an inspiration.
I'm stealing a ton of your ideas. Great stuff.
You come up with so many great ideas, making something "your own" and totally customized to exactly fit your needs.

Crack that projector open and see if you can replace the fan with a Noctua.
Love the light bar. Can you please post a link to the opaque plastic from McMaster? Thanks!

Totally unrelated topic but I really like that woven, vinyl I assume, headliner. Would you share a link to same or similar product?
