    Mark did this out of spite. His mother had just passed not too long before he read an interview with some of these powerlifters saying they were the real strongest men, not like Mark Henry who plays pretend. He took that personally. So he left and did this. And his career was riding on the line because when he left, Vince McMahon told him, "there's no room in this company for the Second Strongest Man in the World."
    Mark Henry has that dawg in him.

Vince said it to him which means he talked himself into potentially losing his job just because he wanted to make some strongmen who mocked his "strongest man" gimmick eat their words. He won the Arnold Classic with only one month of preparation. Kaz has said that Henry is one of the strongest men to ever walk the planet. This same year he also become the first ever to lift and press overhead the 172lb 'Inch' dumbbell, and only one other man has done so since (in 2011). I can only imagine what Henry's strength could have been had he stayed dedicated to powerlifting, and had not joined the WWE.

While that most athlete will say that...If there's any athlete that I believe never used PED's it's Mark Henry...You can tell from the way he talks about them that he wouldn't touch them no matter what. But i know a lot of people aren't going to believe him no matter what he says or does, that's just the way the world works nowadays because of how prevalent PED's/Steroids have become in sports.
      But, just look at the man...he relly didn't need them, especially not when he signed to the WWE, unlike other wrestlers not only did he have a guaranteed contract (meaning he was going to get his money no matter what) but he was legitimately strong and didn't have to worry about maintaining an inhumanly bodybuilder physique like basically every other wrestler did. He wasn't super technical or athletic wrestler that wrestled hour long matches and/or need to look cut like bodybuilder, all he to do was be strong and look intimidating, and he was already was without any other help necessary.

      It's because he was trained in weightlifting unlike the other competitors. Mark only trained weightlifting for 8 or 9 months (with a powerlifting background) and was already good enough to make it to the US team, which is insane, given the fact that weightlifting is extremley technical and takes years to become really good for those who have the talent to begin with.

    • @JTK_XXL
      @JTK_XXL Рік тому

      @@AlejandroSanchez-pl6jw It means the bar itself and the weights are pretty much tight and stiff together like made out of one solid peace or like the barbells for private/non-pro use. When you throw such a weight overhead, there might be a chance for the closure rings to loosen up a bit and the plates start to turn in a direction, which makes the lift more difficult.
      Professional barbells rotate on the outside where the plates are on and therefore balancing out the force of the plates turning. You can see it how in weightlifting the place of the plates is almost the same in the air as on the ground.

      So why did Mariusz Pudzianowski win the 2002 WSM competition?

    • @youngrody2386
      @youngrody2386 5 років тому

      @@TheGoodOlBoyzChannel Technically he was back at 2002, The WSM winner, Mariusz Pudzianowski, PRs at the time were less than than that of Mark Henry's, not to mention, it was widely considered that WSM was more of a Endurance Contest than Arnold Classic, which was a pure Static Strength, Not to mention, He already won two Olympias at that point. So technically Mark Henry, By Pure Strength, was the strongest man atleast in 2002

      Watch the others in this event struggle to lift this wheel. Seeing him do it with such ease is absolutely filthy. Legendary. He left WWE to compete in this event against Vince McMahons wishes. He said if you compete you better win because there's no place in wrestling for the world's 2nd strongest man. Mark Henry won 🏆

      true.
      the whole WWE thing pretty much slowed him down.
      if only hed focus on his lifting competitions rather then the fake show, he would have been up their with Big Z, brian shaw, eddie hall, and Hafthor.

      While that might be true, he was paid ridiculously well. He had a $10 million over a 10 year period contact, which at the time was more than anyone else on the roster. Including Michaels, Hart, and Taker.

      Pete Bromley I'm sorry to break it to you but using steroids in wrestling doesn't mean shit. In powerlifting it enhances performance, which if you're clean while everyone else is on roids then what's the point.

      By average do you mean some one that goes to the gym on a regular basis but not a competitor,or do you mean an average joe who doesn t work out at all? I d say he is about 2ice as strong as a non gym goer,1.5 stronger than an average gym goer like me,pound for pound is a different story,in that category he is not stronger,he is weaker....No disrespect to Mr Mark Henry,but in the SMW competition,against the Bryan Shaws,Eddie Hall or Zuckas (whatever his name) he may not cut it,but I can be wrong,this is just my opinion.
