Bushings make all the difference. So do new bolts. Did my 97 ranger 2.3 5sp front end after 220000 miles. If it wasn't part of the frame or power steering , it was replaced, except for the swing axles. Those got electrolysis de-rusted and new bushings. After de-rusting, the original grind marks from removing the cast flashing reappeared. POR'd them and they still look new years later. Truck has never steered so well.
@@dopeman420 well, when the bushing sleeves have been wearing steps into the bolts, replacing both makes a difference. 220,000 miles is alot of rubbing.

I drive this as a cruiser. What alignment specs would you use?I have 15 inch rims 28 inch tall rear and 26 on front with radial tires. Thanks for your time.
Ok, Im 9 mins into this video. And ill say this, If someone "Recently" did a alignment on this vehicle and we find this upper ball joint at "Near Catastrophic failure" as this is. Then Good Year needs to be off my list of reliable service providers. And told to "Stick to tires" because YOU SUCK AT EVERYTHING ELSE. Just as we found out with our 2009 2500HD Silverado 4 door truck recently. They told me it need the right outer Tie Rod end. At 240-K miles I said just go ahead and do BOTH left and right side outer's at the same time. Which we found they did, However they used a Moog on the right side. And AC -Delco on the left side. Well apparently someone either missed boxed the AC-Delco or it wasn't assembled correctly with the right length stud, Because when they put the castle nut on it. There wasn't but maybe 1- 1/2 turns on the nut before it tightened up. Not allowing you to even get a cotter pin threw it. So they decided to improvise. And used a nylon jam nut (The thinner type of jam nut) Well you can probably guess what happened soon after. So then they aligned it. Now the question that still remains is, When was the last time there alignment rack was recalibrated??? Because there surely was NO TEST DRIVE afterwards. Because had they, Then they would have IMMEDIATELY realized there was something wrong with there rack. All ill say is this, "There's a Good Year repair center in NE Ohio that id stay away from, Other than getting new tires installed or a flat repaired.
I paid a shop that didn't knock those out . I paid another shop to knock them out . 4 k in mechanic and parts . Sorry for the rant but this is still my same problem .
Me watching this realizing I’m gonna have to pull my A arms back off my truck and punch the knockouts and that makes sense why it wouldn’t set right when I had it on the alignment rack last weekend 😑 the more you know
I hear you haven’t got to the compressor yet! lol The shop I worked in the owner said one of these days and then it finally took a shit and he had to buy a new one! lol Problem solved
Soooo you are saying that there is a very good chance when buying even a new car/truck its alignment is done half a** & you might want to have it checked after purchase 😔
I would take them out scrub them real good with carpet cleaner at the car wash then hang them in the car wash Bay and pressure wash them completely off or use your own pressure washer
I love Old man garage but I don't get why they have to send out the front end work. I do all my own front end work set the camber with a level and set the drivers side toe straight to the frame rail using a 2x4 to project the angle down the frame rail then set the passenger tire to the drivers side and that gets it really close for the alignment shop to finish off the rest once I can get a appointment but at least it gets me close enough to drive around
i have a 99 i would never part with, had similar steering issues, one im old now and some people don't realize the older or weaker you are the more you tend to lean into the steering wheel, makes it a little iffy tracking, kinda like toe off. all the shops i took it to for alignment use the normal front end shop skuff for toe, being an old ex racer i finally took the time and stringed, i guess that's the way to say it, im sure you know what i mean, using a string in an x pattern then front to rear for toe. finally got it as good as it can get and just try to relax more when im driving, at 81 i tend to lean into it more than most. love these body styles, on another note, the model with the headlights like you have there, like mine, is the only vehicle i know of that you can buy real glass headlights for. i got tired of the plastic crap yrs ago, mine have been there for almost 8 years and still perfect, i can't remember the brand, not a seal beam and they were hard to find. so much better than plastic
Unfortunately we are quite a haul from his house so for "regular" stuff most of the time it doesn't make sense. On a good day with no traffic it's a 45 minute drive around the city to us. Otherwise... we would probably need to build him an office 😉
Austin giggling like a shit….. lol The RF caster is so far off it’s jiggling like a Walmart shopping cart and the toe is so far out, the left hand and right hand are arguing about which way we are going! Who aligned this thing? Nevermind, not trying to bad mouth anyone.
That's certainly an option, we're Aldo fans of loctite once everything is set. There's an extensive alignment process to go still and we'll be sure to address that. 👍
Lol that red trash can is a biohazard can from a medical facility. Don't put that one out for the trash guy they definitely won't touch it and you might get a visit from the local PD. Tell Bill to go buy Mrs Vicki something new to drive!
2nd of all….
That’s what he gets for going astray from Lucore!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
CONTROL ARMS PUNCHED OUT?
Its has a new L31 ..it better per!🤣
Nice. #!!! 😊😊😊
Rich plz do something with that jeep
I paid a shop that didn't knock those out . I paid another shop to knock them out . 4 k in mechanic and parts . Sorry for the rant but this is still my same problem .
Oil or the lift it hurts the ears going up. Lol
Me watching this realizing I’m gonna have to pull my A arms back off my truck and punch the knockouts and that makes sense why it wouldn’t set right when I had it on the alignment rack last weekend 😑 the more you know
Those squeaky boots are Killin me!!! Lol😂
I hear you haven’t got to the compressor yet! lol The shop I worked in the owner said one of these days and then it finally took a shit and he had to buy a new one! lol Problem solved
Uncle Bucko lack of maintenance
Uncle BuckO Is slipping lol
I fill ya rich it's like popping a zit lol I've said that so many times
Poor Bucko
DAM I M GOOD,HAHA
Because skill level = parts changer .
That said I don't expect somebody who was never in the industry to be " super tech" or anything ...
Bill says it's networking...views for views. You tube money....yea it's stupid but also smart...I'd still do my own work and alignments
There are a few things I'd do differently than these guys tho. But they kno what they're doing..
@@dopeman420 I never thought of the networking part
i have a 99 i would never part with, had similar steering issues, one im old now and some people don't realize the older or weaker you are the more you tend to lean into the steering wheel, makes it a little iffy tracking, kinda like toe off. all the shops i took it to for alignment use the normal front end shop skuff for toe, being an old ex racer i finally took the time and stringed, i guess that's the way to say it, im sure you know what i mean, using a string in an x pattern then front to rear for toe. finally got it as good as it can get and just try to relax more when im driving, at 81 i tend to lean into it more than most. love these body styles, on another note, the model with the headlights like you have there, like mine, is the only vehicle i know of that you can buy real glass headlights for. i got tired of the plastic crap yrs ago, mine have been there for almost 8 years and still perfect, i can't remember the brand, not a seal beam and they were hard to find. so much better than plastic
Bad news is ,there is no good news.
Exactly!
next step bilstien 5100 shocks for $100 each truck will be better then brand new monroe shocks are terrible .
Why would bill take his cars anywhere else other then here
Unfortunately we are quite a haul from his house so for "regular" stuff most of the time it doesn't make sense. On a good day with no traffic it's a 45 minute drive around the city to us. Otherwise... we would probably need to build him an office 😉
Austin giggling like a shit….. lol
The RF caster is so far off it’s jiggling like a Walmart shopping cart and the toe is so far out, the left hand and right hand are arguing about which way we are going! Who aligned this thing? Nevermind, not trying to bad mouth anyone.
Replace the adjuster bolts. The OE ones WILL back off.
That's certainly an option, we're Aldo fans of loctite once everything is set. There's an extensive alignment process to go still and we'll be sure to address that. 👍
They will not back off if done correctly
Looks like lack of maintenance
I wish Bill would let you fix the speedometer in the ms vickie truck its been broke forever
Luecor WILL FIXIT omg dont give it TO BILL bil hill blow it UP NEW show CONTENT FROM BILL blowitup😂❤✌
THAT SUBURBIA N WILL ALSO NEED A STEERING BOX SOON. THEY TRIED TO ADJUST IT. WHEN YOU DO THAT THEY WEAR AND WANDER MORE.
You are correct Sir, that is also being done while it's in here. Just not a part of THIS video. Good knowledge though! 👌
Lol that red trash can is a biohazard can from a medical facility. Don't put that one out for the trash guy they definitely won't touch it and you might get a visit from the local PD. Worked in hospitals for 30 years saw that happen once when the facility got a call to come pick up biohazard waste sitting on the street a few blocks from the hospital hehe it was a bad day for the housekeeper that lived in the house
Sad you Jimmy Dale had to use src to get a piece of the pie? Can't any of you be original???
Not sure what this comment is referring to? 🤔
@@LucoreAuto you seem smart sure it want take whole team to figure out. You know how I get on yt and see a lucore auto video that has src tagged. Pie that good everybody wants a piece of it?
Why can't yall just be lucore auto. Why even get involved in that bs. See how old man acts since he got big?? Don't talk to me don't pet my dog. Don't bother us at track. No we want reply to you. But also continue to buy our merchandise. So I can sit on my azz and do nothing but buy racecar parts
