- Reviewing three changing robes: Wild Moose Robe, Change Robe Eco-Ultra and the Recycled Selkie Robe. It's great to see so much choice in the changing robe market. Here I try them all for size, look at their individual features and do my tow float stuff test to check whether they will fit in my tow float and if there would be room to close it. #outdoorswimming #changingrobe #outdoorlife

I am a UK size 18. I followed the manufacturers' recommended size from their size charts. These are the size robes I tested:

Thank you very much Rachel for putting our Recycled Robe to the test and we are happy that you liked it. We do know our sleeves are slightly wider than others, but this is because they can also be made shorter thanks to a velcro tab (something quite a lot of our customers said they liked to have when changing). Next time we will make sure they can be tied even tighter at the wrist though.

Hi Piotr yes, there are more and more entering the market. I suspect they will slow down or maybe some interesting innovations will come through to differentiate their robe from the rest of the market. I hope you're staying warm after your Polish swims.

Those larger robes apparently make excellent overcoats for outdoor loafing & even wheelchair users too, so please always mention their waterproof capabilities.

What a super angle, I never thought to mention their potential to wheelchair users. I always try to mention their weather-proofness, but maybe didn't quite spell it out this time. Sadly no swellies dip as I had to get to work. I did enjoy hanging out on the bridge and the fabulous views though. Only a few passers-by asked what I was up to.
Lovely to see you again! I have just bought a Gorilla Robe, it is also made of recycled plastic bottles and has that soft feel to it. I was won over by the big front pocket which you can put a hot water bottle inside in the winter months! No front zip it’s a smock design which took a bit of getting used to but I love it now! Haven’t had a swim for 2 weeks due to choppy seas😢
It really has been wild recently hasn't it. I had to resort to finding a dip in the New Forest the other day. I love an over the head changing robe as ther's no messing about with zips. Glad you're pleased with yours x
That bridge is certainly spectacular, and the view at the end is awesome. Congrats on winning the UA-cam jacket with your channel name on it. It’s really snazzy!! These changing robes all look awesome!! We don’t seem to have them here in 🇨🇦, at least not that I’ve seen. I have seen a rubbery poncho type thing advertised for surfers to change out of their wetsuits (made in my province) but it doesn’t look very comfortable… who wants to wear a rubbery poncho after being wet & cold from swimming?? I love the look of these soft, warm and comfy robes. I think I’m in the market for one of these but I will have to be a more serious on-line shopper. Your tips and reviews are very helpful, thanks for the info and the demos… gotta love the lunge test!! I’m looking forward to more awesome videos from you throughout the winter Rachel. I just bought my husband a bleu bird robe and I went for the brakeburn because it goes to ankle length. Great room inside for changing and toasty warm. Pockets inside and out and on offer atm for 85 on their site. Bargain ❤

Great to hear you've got a wetsuit, that can really mak all the difference sometimes. I wear mind for exploring. I have reviewed hiring one, but not an individual suit as they are so personal to body shape. I might have a think about it though. Thanks for the suggestion.
Great to see you back! One thing I have noticed in the group I swim with is such a huge difference in how well the robes handle rain - the rain has been non stop recently here and some of the robes seem to soak it up and get very heavy and take ages to dry out, but others it just runs off and they dry quickly - do you ever rain test/waterproof test the robes?
I haven't come up with a decent test for that yet, but it is on my mind to do so - maybe with a load of volunteers and their robes?

Yes, deliberately not mentioned as we are at sale time. The usual price is around £125 for each of them.

My moonwrap zip doesnt work that well
Is it that it is faulty or have you got sand or something in the teeth? If so using solid wax on the zip and running it up and down a couple of times can fix it.
Remember. ! : alls dry robe is made in china in the same factory .... ! If you want beleave that is écologique .... good courage 😢
Not all changing robes are made in China, although many are. Some are made in the UK, some in Ireland too.
