- The best route to reach Amrutheshwara Temple from Bangalore is via Hiriyur and Hosadurga.
If you are traveling from Chikkamagaluru or Shivamogga, you can reach the place via Tarikere.
Amrutesvara Temple is 260 km from Bangalore
48 km from Shivamogga
65 km from Chikkamagaluru
Amrutheshwara Temple was built in the year 1196 by Amrutheshwara Dandanayaka under the rule of Hoysala King Veera Ballala II.This temple is a classic example of ancient Hoysala architecture.
Miniature decorative towers on the exterior walls of the temple are one of the unique features of this temple. This temple is in the ekakuta style with just one vimana, unlike other trikuta temples built by Hoysalas at Somnathpur and Belur.
The Tower of the temple is adorned with the sculptures of kirthimukhas and miniature decoratives. Mallitamma, believed to be one of the great architects of the Hoysala dynasty, started his career as a sculptor here in the Amrutheshwara Temple, which adds to the historical importance of this temple.
The exterior wall of the temple has panel sculptures, scenes from Hindu epics and legends.
The rows of shining lathe turned pillars that support the ceiling of the mantapa depict Hoysala-Chalukya decorative characteristics.
The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva and the shiva linga at the temple is a 300-year-old Trimurti brought from the River Kandikevale in Nepal.
On the auspicious day of Sankranthi and Mahashivaratri, thousands of devotees visit this place to take the blessings of Lord Shiva.

hi, just accidently watched one vlog of urs today . Liked it .Subscribed. Watched few more vlogs...Surprised that your contet is very good still you have very low views? Then analyzed your few vlogs and hereby giving my suggestions. Some Pros & suggestions:
Pros:
1 You provide every detail needed to reach the place you visit including some map and respective distances from various places
2. Your Cinematography is top class. Editing is on Point.
3. Your choice of background music is very relatable to vlog.
Just want to give you little suggestion that you have tremendous potential to grow. I suggest you to follow few little things:
1. Try to welcome by showing your presence in the beginning of vlog. keep at least 3-4 occurrences of yourself talking to the camera in every vlog(not for more than 3-4 minutes). So that people can connect to you...That will also give personal signature to your vlogs. Else it seem like documentary....
2. try to visit some places which are very popular. Which people love to see Explore unexplored places in those destinations.. People love to see new places in some more popular tourist places.
3. Try to speak in Hindi as it is the universal language spoken in bigger mainland India. Subtitles in Eng are like icing on cake..
You have all the ingredients to be a big vlogger.

Thank you Sudeesh. This is from one of our old visitis and yes a guard present at the premise tried to stop me from recording. When asked for reasons he started giving some absurd reasons like people will steal statues if the photos go public. We just ignored him and continued shooting. Having faced this in many archeological sites, I always ask for the written instructions from government or ASI. They usually go silent most of the times.

We avoid shooting the main sanctum of the temple if they are prohibited for video shooting.
