I am not fluent yet but your videos are helping me to get there, albeit slowly. The concepts I understand, but like many things the 'devil is in the details'. Your knowledge of SharePoint is clearly apparent ... and very helpful. Thank you ...
At the 3:27 mark " ... whereas an Enterprise level company might have multiple Hub sites, but they might only have one home site ...." Question please: I understand only one home site is allowed. So can I presume it is 'one' home site with each M-365 license? Thank you ... loving your channel ... it's been very helpful.
The up flow news is incredible. Whats this feature called please? When setting permission to the child hubs, is it possible that for example a guest wont see the hub? Or any of the links? Or homepage. Basically. See only the page they were invited to
In Hub Sites, there are two navigations, Global Navigation and Local Navigation, Global Navigation has the Hub name as the first item, How do I change the name of it?
now (19/03/2024) it says "Home site set up has moved to Viva Connections in the Microsoft 365 admin center" How do I setup my intranet homepage like how you have outline in this video?
So there is no longer a "home site" button to paste in a URL. Instead I'm being directed to create a viva connections experience before I can designate a home site... I missed the copy paste URL window I guess..
Mister Dougie, can you let me know if there is a way to test setting a page as hub site and/or home site in the background, without immediately rolling it out to the entire company?
Yes, you can create a Hub site and play with it without everyone having access. Just make sure in the permissions it is only your account that has access. When you are ready you can add everyone to the permissions to see the site

@@Dougie_Wood I'll see what we have budgeted. I inherited the intranet when someone left our organization and I am finding the way it was set up is not aligned with any best practices, how-to docs, or videos anywhere on the internet.
Great videos Dougie, very informative and relevant. One suggestion, you should please remove the photo slider as it is becomes very distracting when trying to follow your cursor movements around the screen.

Yes just one Home site per Microsoft 365 Tenant 😀
@@Dougie_Wood A follow up question ... please.
Is a M-365 Tenant the same as a M-365 subscription?

The news is a default web part built into SharePoint, it is just choosing the source of the news is from site associated to the Hub.
In theory you could just share a page to someone externally. It would be easier to have a site for each external party that was accessing.
@@Dougie_Wood actually I found one of your videos and followed it 😂😂😂
Thanks :)
Hi Dougie. Do you have video where you show how you made the Home site for the hub? Thanksss
Yes, it is in my membership videos. It’s only 99p a month, go check them out 👍

Editing the site will remain the same 👍

How do I replace my intranet's existing homepage (a wikipage) with a newly created Hub site?
Quite a lot of steps to explain here. We offer professional services to help launch a new intranet.

Wait until mintue 7, to work out you probably can't change anything as you are not admin. Cheers.
You need to be an admin to change most things in SharePoint 👌
You think u can just willy nilly change things at enterprise level without admin rights? Good grief
