They said they didn’t see anything too. My airway feels impeded, like it’s closing up.. and the coughing fits do lead to 🤮 I hadn’t followed that issue very closely and my outlook of woke is different so I been laying low in survival mode. Thanks Auntie Rob! 🙏 it’s crazy all of the Doctors appointments I’ve had in such a short time, and still many others to get to so I really appreciate your prayers. I would love to hear what your views on woke are one day, but whenever you feel comfortable and when people aren’t so crazy.
I’m sorry you have the same problem with your throat as me, how do you deal with it? 🫶♥️

@@moonlight_antoniohopefully they’ll do a pictorial scope. As far as ‘woke’ I don’t see it as a bad thing. It was initially meant as an ‘awareness’ of what is going on around you so that you don’t get caught up or caught off guard when you’re in danger of getting into a situation of being profiled, discriminated or potentially physically harmed for being Black or blamed for something you didn’t do that could wind you up in jail while you’re innocent. It’s my opinion that things have changed but not enough. Sadly, I still see racism but it’s done in trickier ways that are harder to pinpoint (like being hired for less pay than our ‘other’ counterparts) but still have a negative or even an oppressive outcome towards Blacks. Because of ’who’ I date I get into many elite spaces with wealthy millionaires and power moguls who make the more money than an average person would ever know what to do with and those are the people who make decisions for everyone else. 99.9% there are ZERO Black people in these spaces, at the table. My boyfriend is South Asian (Indian). Typically there is also a small handful of Latinos and Asians too but never any Blacks and the ONLY reason I’m there (usually the sole Black person) is because my politician boyfriend brought me. I get stared at and asked “Sooo, what do YOU DO??” because they stare down and want to know why I’m even there, or worse overlook me all together not shaking my hand during introductions. It’s very intentional. They are gatekeepers who will only allow certain people in. So I guess I feel that what the powers that be have spun ‘woke’ ideologies into is something negative used to keep us as Black people ‘in our place’ with the how dare you try to assert your rights or a level of equality same the rest of us have.. you can vote and get a job !! For example back in the slavery days it was against the law for Blacks to learn how to read and Blacks who snuck to learn could be jailed and lose their lives. THEY WOULD BE CONSIDERED ’WOKE’ if that word existed in THAT context. Were those Blacks wrong? Of course not but they knew it was a ‘right’ that would educate and enlighten them. Of course that’s not all White people, nor are the majority of White people prejudice but I’ve lived long enough to see the changes, they are not enough and I know that still we have a long way to go. I remember one time the Kardashians started wearing cornrow braids and then all over a sudden they started spinning it and acting like the Kardashians discovered cornrows when in fact they took something that was ALWAYS THERE and put a spin on it that was theirs. I kinda feel like that’s what happened to the word ‘WOKE’. I feel like namely White conservatives took a word that meant ‘be careful and mindful of your Black’ and they spinned the word ‘Woke’ into ‘Uh oh! Here comes the Blacks with the victim mentality who want something for free’ and that simply isn’t the case. The ones who spinned the Word WOKE didn’t even use the word until Childish Gambino first drew attention to the race issues that still exist with his song ‘This Is America’ then followed that release with ‘Redbone’ which lyrics simply say ‘STAY WOKE’. It was now the new buzz word that was weaponized against Blacks who simply wanted equality and equity and they used and associated the most radical of Blacks to make ‘wokeness’ a bad thing to KEEP THEIR POWER. While most of our people may never garner the generational wealth that other demographics have simply by owning homes and property people many times forget and lose sight that our ancestors built this country for free on blood, sweat, whippings and tears. Many peoples who were wronged by nations like Jewish people and Japanese received Reparations that will never make up for the pains they suffered but it helped. We were only told to lift ourselves up by our bootstraps. I am a real estate professional who sadly sees the effects and to act like slavery and Jim Crow didn’t have a lasting or even a traumatic effect is denial in my opinion.. When I was born people still had to sit on the back of the bus so I guess some of us view the world and our freedoms through a different lens. While I certainly don’t believe that the world is out to get us, I guess I just see the racist better coming at me in a White hood than the slick ways they hide it in present times.. It’s so much deeper than Kpop or entitlement. Truly, I love all people Black, White, Red and Yellow but indeed there are systems in place to keep us in the dark. Millennials and Gen Z are oblivious to it because of the fights for their freedoms that they luckily never had to fight for.. thank goodness so wokeness isn’t a thing most of yall youngins don’t have to worry about so much 😉 unless we as a country start going backwards.. so maybe.. maybe we’d better STAY WOKE🤔 Now you see why I stayed quiet lol 😂 I can write a book on the subject and Auntie ALWAYS respect you for being the introspective thinker you are!

The thing is, I feel like because of my view on what WOKE is today, I’m the one who’s probably going to get the heat L O L. There’s quite a number of people that believe in woke the way that you do, so I think a lot of people will agree with you, but what I said was the total opposite… and is the least liked line of thought in our modern society, so hopefully I won’t get too many crazy people coming for me haha.
They’re are conservative views that I hold to and they’re are some liberal views, that I think are good, but at my core I have more of a conservative mind when it comes to what people try to push on me. “You need to believe that you’re oppressed” “you need to believe that all white people hate you weather they know it or not” “and you need to be OK with saying that they’re is systemic racism”. You need to constantly repeat the same thing that every black person repeats over and over and over again in every generation so that we can keep this race thing going. And I know it’s not just that because there are people out there who are genuinely racist but, we can’t do anything about that. There will always be racism, we just have to not return the same racism that others give to us, and so far I see my generation failing tremendously at that.
See I’m the kind of guy that agrees with Morgan Freeman lol we shouldn’t have a Black History Month. It should just be American history L O L. Why? Not because I’m ashamed of being black, or that I’m somehow “racist” towards my own, (which I’m not), but because I’m tired of perpetuating, the drawn line between black and white. white history is seen as American history, black history is seen as black history… What the freak is that? It should all be American history.
Black people did that we made our own thing and our government institutionalized it. We can just as easily ask them to make it a part of American history officially, but we don’t do that, because we like to have our own segregated month.
Many of the dividing lines may have been created by white people back in the day, but Black people are keeping those lines right where they are, and saying “don’t cross them”, so now both races are playing a part in the cycle of racism even if we claim it’s not racist or we try to justify it. I will not deny, there are racists out there, but as long as we do our part and be better people, in character, integrity, and in love, we can overcome anything, even racism.
Woke has now become what my generation has turned it into. Hispanics, blacks, ethnic minorities in general, pulling the race card out for everything and weaponizing race, gender, and sexuality against people who AREN’T even racist ( including black people who think like me )
Woke now, is uplifting Black people, while at the same time tearing down white people and blaming them for everything that’s happening in their lives, as if to suggest they can’t do anything outside of the “white man’s power”… And then indoctrinating white people into believing that their race is of the devil, and that they need to be wiped off the face of the Earth if we’re going to have peace… Then, calling the white people that they’ve indoctrinated “THE GOOD ONES”. What does that even mean??? It’s retuning evil for evil.
That’s what woke has become now. That’s why people like me use the term woke against them because they think they’re doing Gods work by making people aware and calling out racism and all that stuff but they’re calling things IST, ISM, and PHOBE that actually aren’t. It’s policing and gatekeeping to the nth degree and it was never intended to be that way. So I always say I’m not a “woke” I’m just simply awake.
But anyway, that’s how I feel about it. And yes, I had a feeling that you were going to write entire book… You have no idea how long it took me to read that lol but I love you for it. You always give me something insightful to look at when you’re putting your comments in the comment section.
I think you and my mom would have an interesting conversation about this topic since you guys come from the same time period, I think that would be interesting to listen to. To hear two black women from the same time, have a conversation about something that they have similar and yet opposite opinions on… I think that would be nice, and I think a lot of people might learn something from it.

@@moonlight_antonio I think that both you and I are innovators who will never allow ourselves to be limited by our race. Regardless of what we call it, I think inclusiveness is the chef's kiss and if we all open our minds and see our commonalities we'll go so much further as a society. No one should allow themselves to be labelled nor label themselves or limit their efforts because of attrocities of the past. When I go into these exclusive places, even if I; the sole Black person am not there as a shot-caller, I carry myself with integrity, class and of course my own unique personality and typically win folks over by the time the soiree is over, lol.. The Bible says 'So a Man thinketh so is he' so we do have to stop thinking of ourselves as oppressed and aim higher!! I too have some conservative viewpoints as well as liberal ones.. Right now I;m not too happy with the choices we have on our presidential ticket but that's a whole other conversation!! Lol And yes, someday I'd love to meet both you and Momma Moonlight in person to talk it up!! Something tells me we'd be talking about everything from Kpop, to New Jack Swing, to Politics!! Muah~~

@robinrachelle3122 I one thousand, one trillion, 100 sextillion % agree with you. 😂
If we could unite on commonalities as a nation, and drop some of this weird nonsensical behaviors and bad ideologies we’ve gravitated towards, we’d get a lot more done, so true. People on TikTok from GEN Z and ALPHA, glorifying mental illness and romanticizing it, while others are stupidly coming up with unhelpful ways to accommodate them, when what they need is professional and psychological help… and some strong STRONG PRAYER 🤲 lol
One day we will meet, absolutely, and Mama, moonlight is going to be with me for sure. Thank you again for sharing your views, and if anybody come at you on MY channel, They got me to deal with, and I’m not somebody that is easily pushed over. We are innovators indeed! Always love you Auntie! 🫶♥️

I hate that Stray Kids & NCT have been shammed over the Israel/Gaza situation. Their companies make mistakes if these decisions and I can’t see any idols stopping mid-collaboration to say ‘But wait? Are you Jewish?’ I seen Taeyong’s post.. they care about Gaza. Most folks don’t have knowledge of what country is affiliated with Israel.. you right; MONEY MONEY MONEY.. if SM makes them, they have to. I’m praying that you recover fully. 🫶🏽❤️‍🩹

All these people forget that many are employed by Starbucks and various companies, who also dislike the conflict. Do they want these people to leave their jobs?

I used to be subscribed to Dave but he is becoming more transparent especially where his loyalty lies with BTS. Ive called him out in his comments many times for not doing his research and just pulling things out of thin air. He is also very hypocritical.
I follow yourself, Seoulite, Boracity Magazine and Asian culture and entertainment. Can you recommend any other factual channels i can check out. I did see kookielit and I originally thought she was for BTS but her latest ones are defending MHJ.

    • @moonlight_antonio
      @moonlight_antonio  Місяць тому +1

I’m not gonna lie, it’s hard to fine channels that give you K-pop facts with complete accuracy, but I’ve looked at Seoullite and he is one of the few that stand out to me as an independent journalist/reporter who has past experience in journalism and worked in the industry of the K-pop sphere. I’m still looking for more channels like that myself so you and I are on the same journey together.
I think that’s another reason why I started reporting on serious issues in K-pop to begin with, so if I find any other channels, I will let you know. But definitely take a look at seoulite’s channel and see if you find it helpful and informative.

@moonlight_antonio ye I'm already subscribed to him. I find him very informative and humouress in a way lol. Asian Entertainment and Culture I find is great as well. She presents bullet points and goes through each one with facts that she has thoroughly researched. BORACITY MAGAZINE is also good at researching and bringing receipts as facts. But the majority of her content is about BTS in the k-pop world and and beyond.
