  • Grid references are useful if you need to tell others your location or if you want to pinpoint a specific location on a topographic map.
    In this video, I will explain how to take six figure grid references which provide accuracy to within 100m of the actual point.

    im a bit confused, maybe im wrong but its always been along the corridor and up the stairs in that order ?

      Yeah I have heard that saying used before. I've never used it myself, but in New Zealand the Easting is definitely put first and then the Northing after (the way I did it). I'm not sure if the order is different around the world, but this is definitely what is done in NZ.

      The numbers are along the corridor but the lines go up the stairs. It causes confusion. Call it what it is, find the easting, find the northing.
      This vid does it very well. Except I think it’s 394

    Your in the 4th area not 3... left after 1m8n 23 sec.

      The first section on the very left is counted as 0, so the fourth section is referred to as the number 3. This is so there are no two digit numbers possible (ie. the section on the right is 9, not 10) :)
