I remember playing this on my dad's office PC back in the day and have been thinking about replaying it recently mostly for the car designs, particularly the Predator. I also remember some versions having an 04 Civic Sedan as an available car. Great video!
Remember WildTangent coins? I remember WildTangent coins. (I have one of OEM games - not this one specifically - having the launcher broken that you could play without the coin check; it got eventually fixed)
0:23 the John Deere shovelware game is not a WildTangent game, it was made by some other developer and originally published by THQ on disc, in case anyone cares
My god I don't know how I managed to managed to tolerate this game long enough to get every car in career mode looking back. Nostalgia can be a strange bitch sometimes.
when my family got a windows 7 desktop for the first time. i remember like it was yesterday, that i played some old scs games + this, & random wild tangent games. its crazy how i remember this
This game was my childhood. I spent a lot of time playing it and seeing you destroy it with valid criticism kind of broke my heart. A couple of notes: the first track in the list with the C class car is a pretty difficult track, however there are easier ones that actually allow you to make some money. Also you can switch your car into manual which adds a bit more skill, because the automatic shifting is painfully slow. I think your game was glitched when it wouldn't save, because I never had that issue. It would just autosave after every race. I was able to get a fully maxed class A car in about 2 hours of playtime, so it's doable if you get good at the game. Good video though, just thought I would defend my precious game a little bit haha
WildTangent app was great for me as an 8 yr old with the only thing to play with being a HP PC. I ran through a ton of adventure point&click games, you were allowed to play them for a couple hours before it asked you to buy them but i 200 IQd that by speedruning them. Early 2000's PC demos were cool, faster internet speeds and digital platforms like Steam&GOG eliminated the need for demos.
When I was 8, my mom's computer software hadn't been updated to Windows 11 in a long time, so all I would do is play Final Drive Nitro. It was such a mess but I couldn't stop playing it because of my boredom. I only had 3 WildTangent coins to use so everytime I closed the game, I felt like I was ending a relationship lmao
I found out that you can mod the game, and you can adjust the amount of bots and the type of race, and just today, I found out you can actually adjust physics so it is actually playable
@@Zynderion117 if you dig throughout the files of the game, you will find something like career.*** (I don’t remember the file extension), and you can change the number of bots by just copying and pasting the line of code for the bot until you get up to 40, where it will start to crash. You change the physics of the car by going to another file that I don’t remember off the top of my head and adjusting the values there. They are in a folder for each different car.
Seriously they should make another game like this. Need For Speed, but set in a futuristic city with futuristic but otherwise realistic cars. Cars, not hover things like in Wipeout. And with, like, proper racing mechanics and physics, not pure arcade like Xenon Racer.
This is one of those computer racing games I'd play so much when I was little during the late 2000's... more than a deacade later my mind decides to open a memory vault about WildTanget, then I come across this video- and it's so spot on about Final Drive Nitro. What a poorly made game it was.. no wonder why I forgot about it lol.
If you can find final drive fury it's even more scuffed iirc. It's a childhood classic for me but on a replay the draw distance was horrible and had even slidier physica
I have a few questions for you. First of all, did you play in on wild tangent? Also were you able to play this on windows 10 and did you have any issues starting it? Because I trying installing it and it would either give me an error or I would be able to install it but it would never open the game. Did you have any of these problems?
4:09 You have to start buying the performance upgrade first instead of the visual upgrades before you begin the race, and you just wasted your time on this. I just had won every race for other upgrades and cars and it made me much easier than you think.
there is infact a different game in the "final drive" series, i dont know if its a sequel or a prequel, but i would say its worse, it has 3 cars and 1 track to play on, it uses the same engine and the track is pretty mediocre, i actually think its reused from this game (or this game took it from that)
only real ones remember charger urban racing and the final drive series
Such an extremely underrated, high quality channel. Please keep up this amazing work!

Yep, the current retail version has it. As nostalgic as I am for it, I want to try the Gladiator, which had been replaced by the Civic...
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I USED TO PLAY THIS GAME AS A SMALL CHILD ON SOME WEIRD GAME SITE CALLED WILDTANGENT LOOOL
Came pre downloaded on hp laptops from the era, it was on my mums
@@thebige7302 yeah i get it lmao even i had a hp laptop and had that, but bothered the fuck out of me whenever i had no more chance to play the game
Yo same but I had the installed ver

Played the HELL out of the demo for that game! I loved it! First game I ever knew with wheel neons.

Wait how did i end up watching a dude with 30 suscribers.
Good work!

You Tube recommenced me this… hmm YT did something good for once, subbed
I just noticed now that the speedometer in Final Drive is nearly identical to Underground wtf
Your videos are super well made man, hope you make it big soon
Always love these documentations of obscure video games, keep it up!
I think we can at least agree that the tracks _look_ kinda cool.
You’re so good at playing wildtangent games :)

Who remembers "juju" from a different version of final drive nitro as the brake stats?
mate u just unlocked in my head one of those long lost, fuzzy memories from who knows when. "juju" from final drive nitro is one of them
Yay! New upload
Played this game as a kid. Was always hooked
I doubt I played this game itself, but something about the neon 3d aesthetic is really nostalgic to me.
underrated content
lmao this was one of my childhood memories... back when i had a 2005 Dell Prebuilt....
this was literally my first ever game i played as a kid, the nostalgia...
I used to have this on the first HP pc my parents bought. Played the demo so many times
When i was a kid, this game's graphics were fire

i used to play this as well as final drive fury all the damn time as a kid
How is your sub count so low? This is a quality video, it's absolutely criminal!
+1 sub
I have forgotten this so much
haha, i just love this game, played all races already, for a clone game of NFS, it's actually great
Somehow got directed to this video in 2024, good video. the game, not so much haha
Can you do also a clip about Need for Speed:Top Speed??WildTangent also developed it!
I think Wildtangent also had a deal with Gateway but I am not completely sure about it.

please do final drive fury
why your videos have so nice qualitty and you still have 577 subs? +1 sub for you
now play final drive fury (the sequel)
and yes there is actually a sequel. It came out in like 2006

I play on Windows XP computer specifically to avoid those problems.

my favorite car in Final Drive Nitro:
1. Strazza Gladiator
2. Diagoro SXI
3. Beckham Predator
Thanks for add gladiator in 1st
This game was my fucking game man
I love how they ripped off the HUD of NFS Underground. LOL!
This game was strange
What the problem really is that the game has really bad controls, handling for any car you would use in the game.
No one tell him about Final Drive Fury
