Everytime i see these videos i remember the first time i saw Joplin after it was hit. The hospital was shook off its foundation and had to be demolished. Just imagine the power of something that does that. Mother nature is something else! Keep up the good work !

So I did recovery in Joplin and followed it into town. I had 4 other trauma surgeons and a few medics and nurses that liked to chase. The hospital was bent but the whole rumor about the hospital moving 4-6” was actually just legend and rumor. I saw the exact place while moving patients. But the hospital had a deformation and basically the twisting winds torqued it. Which in Lubbock tx. A 222-240’ building is still twisted from the 1970 F5 so it’s extremely common to see them torqued. It just bends the entire structure. So it had to be tore down because I saw multiple doors that wouldnt line up to close in the hospital. So it definitely twisted the skeleton.

It's not mother nature. It's weather being altered.

This thing missed my house by less than a mile, it was literally going up the highway I lived off of, it turned west just before it reached us, you better believe I was thanking God for that.

Jarrell was the first time I seen serious ground scouring. The 2nd was aftermath of 2011 EF-5 that dug a deep ditch. Like 18-24” deep. Looked like a tractor plowed it. Then elreno I saw minor scouring. But jarrell was the scariest because there was body parts all in the ground that was scoured.

Another consideration is the ground itself. Smithville has hard red clay, I believe Jarrell is what they call hardpan- very dense solid soils. This is loose, recently tilled and much easier to displace.

In the 1800's tornadoes were as thick as riled up hornets.
