'In-joke' reference to other videogame countdown UA-camrs? Check. League of Legends? Check. Kingdom Hearts? Check. Anime-styled fighting game? Check. Live action gag? Check. Yup, it's a Green Scorpion countdown.
Wind has always been my element, from my Libra zodiac, to living in Tornado Alley. To see this list really brings a smile and a satisfaction that there are conjurers of this element in gaming. My hat's off to you.
Same with me, in fact I'm a Libra and I live in Florida, the debatable KING of tornados. Though I have alot more fire energy than anything probably because I'm childish as fuck, can't flirt for the life of me (which is a common Libra stereotype), and though I look cold most of the time, I'm a nice warm person to be around.
After looking back on this month, there are interesting topics possible, but they'd be pretty difficult. Haomancers (Light) Chronomancers (Time) Necromancers (Darkness)
3.14 Dragon It is a made up word, i can't find any information on it, the prefix photo means light, just like photography, because you need light to take pictures
Air is seriously untapped because the more you think about it air is absurdly powerful. If your going by the logic that he can only control gasses that make up air an aeromancer can take oxygen out of something making them explode especially if it’s water based. There’s phasing into air itself which means attack evasion and going through objects, enhanced senses that are on par with daredevils absurd sense. The ability to speak all language and the ability to understand everything to fly. There’s super hearing, immunity to gas based poisons suffocation. Also if extend to all gasses there’s even more powers. It’s quite sad that the element isn’t being used to it’s full potential I hope that changes
4:38 There was a kind of spirit in Japanese culture that cuts people with the wind itself. That could be where these characters get there inspirations from.
10:15 Oscar, I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR THAT :) :) :) Under Night In-Birth has become one of my "personal" favorite fighting games, and just to see you mention it, makes me so happy :) Thanks :) (BTW, It's pronounced Nanse)
Actually Storm Owl is probably using ki or magic; even though it's supposedly sci-fi the Megaman franchise has some borderline supernatural elements in it
Had this list been released in 2018-2019, Talim for sure would have been on the list because of her Critical Edge and her VASTLY expanded moveset in Soulcalibur VI.
Kitana: "To win your next fight, you must use the element which brings life." Me: "Air? Earth? Fire? Carbon?! OXYGEN?! CADMIUM??!!!? If it's so important, why are you being so fucking vague about it?"
Embracing the wind, we're riding the storm! We stay our course, no matter the trouble. Ordinary souls in the sea of the damned. Death or Glory, oh we are riding the storm!!!!
Rachel Alucard from Blazblue might not have the same raw wind power as the characters on this list but I'd argue that she uses her powers more effectively than just about anybody else. She uses her wind to move herself around; speed up projectiles, redirect her own projectiles to hit multiple times, slow down enemy advances and even send enemies flying into her attacks. Also, as a video game mechanic her wind is so unique and incredibly fun to play with.
Nice name. I wish Aang was on here but hey this is video game Aeromancers: 10. Nice to see him again. Although it's sad to see him so low. But hey, not my list. 9. Yeah it's hard to find a good wind mage in this franchise but I can see why you put him here. 8. Well here's a game I've never played. It's nice to learn about it. 7. I've never even heard of this game but this girl can move 6. Another league champion. At least it's not in the top five... 5. Oh I heard about this guy on another countdown by QG. This guy can really blow people away (cue face palm) 4. Oh yes he is! Seeing as he's the number 2 on the list of favorite mavericks 3. Another warcraft entrant. Good to see you again girl 2. Again QG would be happy and it's nie to hear about MH4 again. 1. Wow... someone beat Rubicante... and it's woman! Kudos
One of my favorites is Lassi from Magical Starsign. All of her spells are wind based, just like how everyone else in the game only has one element. While Lassi may not have a lot of skills, she is still a very useful member to your team. She can not only attack with wind, but she can also heal party members, especially if she is in the back row, and even uses the wind to allow her friends to get some of their HP back every turn. Her Wild Magic gets used a lot as well, allowing her to solve many of the game's puzzles, and giving you very easy access to Sugarstars. I wouldn't necessarily refer to her as the best, but she is certainly a favorite of mine, and when I think of wind, she is almost always the first character I think of. Oh and good list! Looking forward to next week!
10: I dunno, I think of Xaldin flying around and being a giant dingus almost as much as I think of him destroying me with his SIX FREAKING LANCES, plus without the power of wind, I don't think he could turn his lances into a giant dragon like he does. Plus, like you said, almost everything he does has some air manipulation going on, so I feel like he should be higher. 9: Never played the Gamecube Fire Emblem games, but the more I hear about them, the more I want to. Also, two wind characters associated with dragons? Strange. 8: Golden Sun is another game I've never played but heard good things about. Oh, and another game that uses "Storm" instead of Wind and Lightning! It's like Ni No Kuni, I've got to check it out now. 7: Japanese fighting game, wooooah. Looks cool, though. Aerial character with a broadsword and Rasengan? Hell yes. 6: More League champions, of course. I get really overwhelmed about all the things in that game, sheesh. 5: What the hell, Madworld. I swear to god, the more I hear about THIS game, the further I want to stay away from it. 4: MEGAMAN! MEGAMAN! He looks pretty cool, and those are pretty cool powers. I'm assuming he's got little remote controlled fans to whip up those winds. Or nano-machines, that works too. 3: Warcraft, eh? Weird lore, but whatever. 2: DRAGON!!! That's about all I know about Monster Hunter. It's not my genre. Metal dragon, though, hell yeah. 1: EEEEEEEE I LOVE IT WHEN PEOPLE TALK ABOUT FINAL FANTASY IV!!! Man, this boss is interesting when you think about it. I love this list now. Good job.
No Rayquaza? He's the lord of the skies, lives in the ozone layer, has access to the most powerful flying type attacks including his signature move: Dragon Ascent, and his Mega Evolution makes him the single strongest Pokemon, competitively, needing an entirely new tier made just for him. I think that deserves an honorable mention at the very least.
+TheGlacialWarrior Except it barely uses air or wind at all. It's a flying type, but that doesn't immediately mean it uses air. The only moves he learns that are air/wind related are Twister and Air Slash. That's it. And Rayquaza works better as a physical attacker anyway.
Rayquaza being a Flying-type doesn't automatically qualify him. Really, his Mega Evolution's ability is really the best aeromancy he'll be doing, and that doesn't really stack up to anybody on the list. Tornadus on the other hand.............
+AchtungFreud Let's see, a basic Gust, Tailwind to speed up allies, Air cutter to hit multiple enemies with wind, Air slash to slice a single enemy with air and a high flinch rate, Hurricane to blast the enemy with high power, even Rain dance if you wanna consider that in it's lore it summons storms wherever it goes, even Icy wind to chill enemies and slow them down...yeah, it's a really good Aeromancer.
Except Lugia and Tornadus do it better.I won't deny that Rayquaza's got some power in it,but the lore barely does anything on Aeromancy as much as it does with it being a peacemaker for the other two.If it gained a signature move that had something to do with Ziz,the creature it was based after,I would accept it,but as it stands,eh....
Awesome countdown it's nice to see some love for wind users :) Personally I kept thinking of Mishera from Ys seven since she uses wind magic and literally uses the wind to "see" since she's blind (and apparently she can read people's minds with it too) plus she has a really beautiful design.
As a huge Warcraft fan, I’m not mad about the placement of the characters. I’m just happy and grateful to see them represented on this lists, even if it’s only from the Warcraft trilogy and the dota mod.
I don't know why wind is such a sparse element since it is one that has a ton of possibilities. And in other media wind users are very common and even have some of the most kick ass abilities. Hell while trying to think of any other character for this list I could only think of Gale from Digital Devil Saga (though SMT is full of a lot of cool wind users) or Lavitz/King Albert from Legend of Dragoon. It is kind of sad. Update: I am an idiot, I completely forgot about Kotaro Fuma from Sengoku Basara. A ninja who specializes in using the wind element. He is able to manipulate the wind to control multiple chakras, temporarily fly, and create whirlwinds to blow away tons of enemies at once. He also uses wind to help teleport short distances leaving only a few scattered feathers around. His character isn't the greatest, since he doesn't say a thing and is mostly there to help the Hojo clan and doesn't really have his own goals. But he is a very impressive and dangerous wind user.
+Charlie McFarlin I guess that not many games simulate getting thrown around like rag dolls, which would be the 1st thing that'd come to my mind when I think of an aeromancers. Cutting with wind seems like it'd be a very difficult, but still possible, thing for an aeromancer to do.
Also I've read the So you want to be a wizard book where they're visiting their aunt in Greenland where there's a relic for each element. Water gets a gourd, and with air, a rusty old sword. So a sword as a martial weapon for an aeromancer isn't that strange, after all swords are quite aerodynamic mid-attack.
I think I have a character who one-ups Barbariccia and they are from Final Fantasy but from XIV. That aeromancer is Garuda, the Lady of the Vortex and Primal of the Ixali. Garuda actually has a rather interesting lore to her as her existence is based off Ixal history back when they were the synthetic birds known as the Iksalion. However the Primal Garuda is a bird-like woman who is completely sadistic and is in complete control of the wind. She attacks with tornadoes, blasts of wind from her talons, she uses the wind to carry her feathers upon it and then uses those feathers as blades or explodes them into wind blasts. Garuda also uses the wind to make the very battlefield hostile, since she keeps creating danger areas and changing where the safe zones are, either by shrinking the eye of her tornado or by by creating four tornadoes within the vortex. Oh and she can use her wind powers to create clones, Suparna and Chirada who also use wind attacks... Never fight Garuda Extreme, she's horrible. xD
10:15 To think that three years after this countdown's release, Under Night In-birth and its cast would be included in Blazblue Cross Tag Battle alongside Persona 4 Arena and RWBY.
If I may include a few pokemon Aeromancers Rayquaza - Lord of the skies that lives in the ozone layer (while only occasionally stopping by the Sky Pillar for the player to try and catch it) - In the Destiney Deoxys movie Rayquaza makes it his goal to rid the world of Deoxys for daring to fly through its territory (even after a few years pass) much like how the Ozone layer keeps solar radiation from damaging the Earth Tornadus - The only pure flying type in the game - Is never found in one specific location for too long - Controls the winds enough to move rain clouds with it like they were its crazed fangirls Suicune - Is the pokemon incarnation of the north wind (although it IS a water type) - Runs around the region and refuses to even fight the player until late in the game - Can run on top of the water so it isn't bound by the limitations of the land - In the anime (and the manga) it can be seen jumping up and down mountains as if they were mere hills Winnona -Uses a VERY well balanced team of flying type pokemon - Her Altaria can handle electric types due to its dragon typing, high special defenses and its use of Earthquake (not to mention Dragon breath can paralyze any pokemon unfortunate enough to not finish it in one hit) - Her Skarmory can handle rock and ice types due to its steel typing and ability to set up spikes - Her Pelliper can take out fire types that pester Skarmory with brine and high defenses - Her Swellow is also capable of landing at least one hit before fainting (or at least dragging out the battle with a few double teams) - Her team (aside from Swellow) counters the main weaknesses that often cripple flying type users (see my points above). In fact if their was a flying type equivalent of Volt Switch Winnona would probably still be a real challenge in ORAS
10. I was expecting Xaldin to be on this list hands down, just not this low... That spot should've be reserved for the element user for the next list. (Still hasn't played a Kingdom Hearts game yet..) 9. You know I wanted my first Fire Emblem experience to be from the Radiant games instead of Awakening(Still a Great game). Ike was my first reason (Mostly because Smash peeked my interest with him..), now I have another reason thanks to Soren. He may be my favorite mage if I play the games. And he's not even DARK! 8. Never played Golden Sun, but Ivan seems like an interesting character... 7. G.S. I've actually seen Under Night In-Birth at an Anime convention I went to last summer in the Gaming room they had. Thanks for introducing Nanase to me, I may main her in the game when I buy the game cause RASENGAN!! (What console is this for and how much?) 6. Never played much of League yet. Janna seems pretty cool. 5. Ironic, I just saw this guy in Aerodragon's Top 10 boss fights... 4. Even though he's an owl, Storm Owl just screams American to me! 3. Your Alleria is Lerile theory is my reaction to some "new characters" in Fire Emblem Fates coming up next year. 2. Have Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, haven't even seen Kushala Daora yet... 1. First of all I never thought Barbariccia would have been this high, second even though I've knew Kain's full name and his usefulness in the fight before this video and I still didn't get the joke till you told me. Lastly, like you said in the beginning that Wind is the element of freedom and I can see why Barbarccia went with a human form (Humans and FREEwill) it kinda explains the clothes too... (What? She's hot, can you blame me?)
Wait a minute. The order of these countdowns... Fire, Air, Water, then, by process of elimination, Earth... Is this Weapons Month's order based on the Avatar Cycle?
Since you said "bring a towel" I assume that next week will be about people who use water as weapons. Does that mean you'll be including ice on that list though? Because that would be pretty cool.
Daw, I was hoping to see Rayquaza make an appearance somewhere. He's definitely no Barbarriccia but as the Dragon who lives in the Ozone layer with a mega ability that eliminates ALL flying type weaknesses ... Kinda had my hopes up xD Ah well, Ray doesn't use solely flying moves, and the rest of this list just blew him away, Awesome job bro
gosh darned it scorpion...ARE YOU DETERMINED TO MAKE A MOCKERY OF MY FAVORITE LEAGUE CHAMPS AT EVERY TURN?! Next week it's either naut or nami and I've got a feeling I'm going to be left high and dry all month long.
You may want to check out the first 3 Suikoden games. The Tenkan Star, Luc, carries the True Wind Rune and is the most powerful wind user in the series. Also if you check his story, it is very tragic.
+WilliamT S Right, but hey it's only opinions. Plus it all depends on how you choose to play Dust. You don't always have to rely on Fidget's spells, but hey I'm not judging. Also, I saw another aerokinetics list and Dust was at no. 5.
As one of the few people who've played Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, I think either Kharg or Darc would have made excellent choices for this list. Oh, and if you ever make a Top 10 Puppeteers/Mind Controllers list, there's another character from that game I'd love to see.
I love you just for including Fire Emblem games on your lists. Though I would have picked Sety/Ced over Soren, I can totally understand this choice. Here's me hoping for Ishtar for Thunder Magic
I'd argue Brian (quest 64). While he's able to use all elements, his wind elemental abilities are by comparison super strong early and late game. If anyone wants more mechanical reasoning I can, but in general, the multi hit nature of all the spells make wind do a high minimum potential of damage, REALLY difficult to miss with, and creates huge 'razor winds' in many different formats to find a use for any enemy positioning. Some can argue his best set is Earth, but Earth relies a lot on his own positioning
I'm kinda sad that Klonoa didn't get on here... But then again, he only has a ring that inflates enemies to use as double jumps. Creative, but that's really the most he can do. As for this list... I kinda wish there were more Wind users in general. I like the power and usage these guys use, but I think we have yet to see a gaming character who REALLY lets loose and does just about anything you can imagine with the wind. I wonder who we can ask to make a game or character like that...
+Speeddemon105 OH! Pang Tong from Dynasty Warriors! Seriously, the guy uses so many wind magic attacks, it's a wonder HE didn't just summon the wind instead of Zhuge Liang at the Chi Bi battle.
+Speeddemon105 Pang Tong, huh? I don't think I've ever played as him. I'll give it a look. I love Klonoa though, it's an amazing hidden gem. We probably could have put him in the intro or something. It's just that with Weapons Month we focus only fighting with the weapon/element. Klonoa has cool platforming uses with it though. Respect.
Another great entry for Weapon's Month, Oscar! :D I honestly never really cared about Wind as a fighting element, but I must admit you showed some amazing Aeromancers on here. I was especially happy to see Xaldin again, obviously :P Even if I thought Pyromancers was way better, this was still very solid. Good job! :3 Also, I'm curious to know if you had a Pokémon or Pokémon Trainer in mind for this list. The best Pokémon Aeromancer I can think of is Tornadus, the only Mono Flying-Type in the series, which practically makes it an "Air Type" of sorts.
If I can recommend ideas for a Possible next weapons month.Maces. Daggers. Guns. But perhaps Top 10 Versatile Weapon users (AKA: People who can use multiple or any weapon(s) )
10: Xaldin is back. And he's bringing the mad winds already! 9: Hey Soren! Honestly... I don't have an Aeromancer from Fire Emblem in mind, a lot of mages use it. 8: Wow, Ivan is kinda unlucky losing all this stuff. 7: Huh, never heard of this game. Also, Namco, if possible, whenever you'll bring back Soul Calibur some full glory... Give Talim some air moves, okay? 6: A pretty good Support... And she's a Weather forecaster! 5: ZE MAD TORNADO, JAH!! Kreese fought a lot of crazy people, huh? I mean, A Vampire with an... Awesome rack who left him declared legally dead for a week, A Kung-fu Queen who had a thing with him involving spitting teeth and pissing blood, a... VERY fruity skating cowboy, and now a guy who collapsed his lungs... VIA ARM TURBINES!! Wish I could play Madworld... 4: THE BADASS WHO NEVER USES HIS ARM CANNON WHILE ATTACKING, BUT INSTEAD USES HIS HAND!! To quote some DOTA people... CAPSLOCK STORM OWL, THE MANLIEST MAVERICK WITH FEATHERS!! 3: Her legacy will live on... in Warcraft lore, and in DOTA 2 as Windranger. 2: The Elder dragon of the Winds... KUSHALA DAORA!!! The day will come when I'll face it... and probably die twenty times before defeating that Dragon. 1: BARBARICCIA!!... Haven't faced her yet. I only defeated Scarmiglione of Earth and Cagnazzo of Water so far in Final Fantasy 4.
Top 10 agromancers(power to control plants) Or Top 10 necromancers(power to raise the dead) Also I think air is a underrated element because image a aeromancer doing something like sucking the air out of enemies to choke them or ride on tornadoes or become a tornado beast that can throw tornadoes and do like a jump drill attack or making winds so powerful it would be like a punch now THAT would be cool
Personally, I'm a bit surprised that Lugia isn't on this list, with its lore from the pokedex and its signature Aeroblast, it's certainly a pokemon that will "blow you away!" But in all seriousness, keep up the good work Scorpion!
For Persona, got to give it to Brosuke, I mean Yosuke Hanamura from Persona 4. He's a jack of all trades with the potential to heal your companions somewhat well. I mean he's not Yukiko but he's the only other party member aside of Yu to be able to assist Yukiko if she gets knocked down or out. Plus I find him enjoyable to hang with compared to Persona 3's wind user.
Well, Apparently Allireia, alongside Turalyon, actually ended up in argus, where the former changed from wind to void. WoW Legion made two things on this list no longer apply fully (if not at all).
Hey, in Magic Knight Rayearth, Fuu Hoohshi had a broad sword, but was light to her and extremely heavy to her two friends Umi and Hikaru, i feel that it symbolizes the sheer force of the wind with the light and easy to wield for those attuned to with wind yet the weight onto those who aren't. Do you see where I'm trying to get here?
Ah yes, Wind, the second of the four. Sorry I'm late with this. Anyway, Good Examples of Wind are Linka from Captain Planet, A tubby guy named Slipstream, Whirlwind, and of course, Aang. But this is video game aeromancers and since Aang has all four, he does not count anyway. (Lola Bunny and Robo-Lola control wind in my fanfic), and thank you for not including Link. 10: Holy Cow talk about a downgrade. Xaldin, your numero uno Spearman, number 10 on this list. I suppose that makes sense. It is more Lancer than Whirlwind Lancer. Oh and on a side note, In Dream, Drop Distance, Xaldin becomes Dilan again and when he and those below him in rank became people again, he and Even, Vexen's whole, were conscious but unstable and had to rest. Lea was the first, and Aeleus, and Ienzo came too soon after. And I would not want to fight this guy. And his lances are called Lindworm, like the dragon. 9: Soren, oh yeah, he was an honorable mention to the fanservicey Tharja. Still, a good friend and an excellent Wind master. 8: Ivan, Sorry but the only guy from Golden Sun I know of is the guy who gives people the giant hand, and that is an Assist trophy. Still, great choice. 7. WiiDude83 already talked about Talim anyway and Nanase is a good choice, and no I have not. And the term airhead would fit her perfectly. 6. Ah yes, I have her in my champ roster. Never use her much though. Seriously, why did LoL have to cut out so much lore? And, a Meteorologist? Really? 5. Oh yeah, Twirlenkiller. I don't even know, but this dude could have made Anarchy Reigns. 4. Oh man,, number 2 on QG's favorite Mavericks list, Storm Owl. Me, I'd prefer cool looking robots like Tengu Man, Wind Man from Battle Network and a personal favorite of mine, Sprial Pegasus, aka, the Skiver. 3. You just blew everyone's minds with Aleria Windrunner. Also, great opening to the segment. 2. Whoa, and I mean whoa. An Elder Dragon as the penultimate Aeromancer. Now, Recap time: Number 10: Former Weapons Month Champion, Number 9: The draconic mage, Number 8: Squishy Mage, Number 7: Airhead. Number 6: The only girl from Zhan with wind power. Number 5, German Wind arms, Number 4, Quarter Guy's Penultimate Maverick, Number 3, Mind: Blown, and number 2, Elder Metal Dragon. 1. Rubicante's Subordinate, the scantally clad Barbariccia, the number one Aeromancer. She's more than eye candy, she's a living tornado. And man she is tough. I'm surprised Tornadus didn''t make the list, even as an honorable mention, and neither did Tia... Oh wait, Tiamat and Barbariccia are from the same franchise. Still, nice choices with Tuff n Puff, Fujin and Toku as HM's. Next is Water. And I hope Aqua Man from MM8 makes the list.

Yup, it's a Green Scorpion countdown.

I just want to point out that I love how the intros change depending on the "weapon".
I also like how Oscar now gives each entry a unique transition.
After looking back on this month, there are interesting topics possible, but they'd be pretty difficult.
Haomancers (Light)
Chronomancers (Time)
Necromancers (Darkness)
Wave Slicer nerco means dead
Darkness is Umbramancy, Photomancy is light, and Necromancy means dead.
Sorry, my bad
Wait then what ARE haomancers?
3.14 Dragon It is a made up word, i can't find any information on it, the prefix photo means light, just like photography, because you need light to take pictures
If only you'd been able to play an Arcana Heart game prior to this...because...Lilica.
+The Quarter Guy My thoughts exactly.
+The Quarter Guy If only Heart would show up in a Death Battle/One Minute Melee.
JGamer king
It would probably be with Elphelt
+JGamer king I am still waiting for that Chie vs. Saki battle Quarter guy said on his top ten arcana heart character list
And maybe Saki on Electromancers.
Top 10 Aquamancers?
DANCE WATER DANCE!
We all know THAT guy is gonna be in.
What a bunch of airheads.
-slow clap-
+MrSailing101 Is that a joke? LOL
That pun really blew.
+straburyred yeah, this is a buncha jokas
+MrSailing101 The last ones were on heat....ok im done XD *leaves*

Kamaitachi?
10:15
Oscar, I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR THAT :) :) :)
Under Night In-Birth has become one of my "personal" favorite fighting games, and just to see you mention it, makes me so happy :)
Thanks :)
(BTW, It's pronounced Nanse)
Rashid was just revealed for Street Fighter V. Thanks Capcom, great timing -_-
Actually Storm Owl is probably using ki or magic; even though it's supposedly sci-fi the Megaman franchise has some borderline supernatural elements in it
I love how much detail you go into for each entry, and talking about for 10 seconds like a certain other youtuber *cough* watchmojo *cough*
Also, Goenitz from The King Of Fighters '96.
+The Quarter Guy We don't speak of Mister Koko Desu Ka around here.
Daimon might count, also Orochi Yashiro.
Closest to water is either Gaidel, who isn't playable in any game whatsoever, or kula, who uses ice.
+The Quarter Guy Augh I hated fighting that cheapass of a character in SVC Chaos...
+The Quarter Guy I also nominate Joe Higashi and his Uppercuts.
I am so glad someone actually talked about UNIEL. WAY to damn underrated.
Had this list been released in 2018-2019, Talim for sure would have been on the list because of her Critical Edge and her VASTLY expanded moveset in Soulcalibur VI.
These contenders blow.....
but in a good way.
Kitana: "To win your next fight, you must use the element which brings life."
Me: "Air? Earth? Fire? Carbon?! OXYGEN?! CADMIUM??!!!? If it's so important, why are you being so fucking vague about it?"
When I first saw this countdown pop, my first thought was "Barbariccia is going to be *somewhere* on this list." and man was I right! XD
Also, as a video game mechanic her wind is so unique and incredibly fun to play with.
+jelli007 Honestly I think she'd be a better candidate than a few of the people on this list.
I could listen to Oscar say "HERR FREDERICK VON TWIRLENKILLER" all gosh dang day
You don't know how much I enjoy the weapon month x)
I somewhat expected the Djinn of Wind, Tornadus from Pokemon to be on this list.
in video games... air is my go to element
Haha Nice Video! :D That Janna was me LOL HAHAHA
When I think of air users I go for the grandia series
Nice name. I wish Aang was on here but hey this is video game Aeromancers:
10. Nice to see him again. Although it's sad to see him so low. But hey, not my list.
9. Yeah it's hard to find a good wind mage in this franchise but I can see why you put him here.
8. Well here's a game I've never played. It's nice to learn about it.
7. I've never even heard of this game but this girl can move
6. Another league champion. At least it's not in the top five...
5. Oh I heard about this guy on another countdown by QG. This guy can really blow people away (cue face palm)
4. Oh yes he is! Seeing as he's the number 2 on the list of favorite mavericks
3. Another warcraft entrant. Good to see you again girl
2. Again QG would be happy and it's nie to hear about MH4 again.
1. Wow... someone beat Rubicante... and it's woman! Kudos
7:43 Thank you! I wanted this game to be said because this series is seriously underplayed
True. There arent much wind users. Others i remember are Fujin from Mortal kombat, Tiamant-FF1 and 9. Also have you done one on Necromancers?
For water/Ice users I'm going with Kula Diamond and Demiyx.
I guess Warhead from Vectorman would be an honorable mention.
1:08 no true we have our own internal pressure, it's what keep us from the air being forced out of our lungs when we're in water for example.
Looking forward to next week!
just woke up and I see one of your countdowns. This should be good ^^
Where would Fujin from Mortal Kombat be?
This list makes me have more pride in my wind elemental ocs. *v*Nice list and the nostalgic Golden Sun mention made me smile!
Ah, wind. My favorite element. I wish there were more characters that played with the element more.
+A Dandy Guy in Space Lugia however...
Why do I have a feeling Demyx, Nami, and Rain are all making the list next week? Maybe Leviathan from Final Fantasy as well.
Awesome countdown it's nice to see some love for wind users :)
Personally I kept thinking of Mishera from Ys seven since she uses wind magic and literally uses the wind to "see" since she's blind (and apparently she can read people's minds with it too) plus she has a really beautiful design.
As a huge Warcraft fan, I’m not mad about the placement of the characters. I’m just happy and grateful to see them represented on this lists, even if it’s only from the Warcraft trilogy and the dota mod.
After seeing Malva in the first list, I expected Lance with his 6 flying types to be on here
Avatar cycle here. Fire, wind, water, earth
I thought it was water, earth, fire, air.
Yeah Gale was the first thing off the top of my head too. Sad that our favorite green haired Embryon didn't make it.
Rachel Swank Unfortunately there is not enough people who have played Digital Devil Saga and its sequel.
Charlie McFarlin I know but the least we can do is spread the word on a hidden PS2 gem along with the SMT series in general. :)
Are you going to do a top 10 lightmancers or darkmancers (is there an actual term for those I'd like to know).
18:34 I'm sorry, General, but did your forces just raise their right arms out as a salute!? ARE YOU *TRYING* TO LOOK LIKE THE BAD GUYS!!?
Yeah I forget about Wind users alot and honestly couldn't think of any at first. So cool list.
Hey Green Scorpion where would Rashid from Street Fighter V fall on this least had the game come out during this time?
Glad to see Under Night In-birth getting recognized.
So what are your thoughts on Rashid from Street Fighter V?
+KCruzer I think he looks awesome!
Recent cd?
Literally revealed on the same exact day that Oscar posted this so he couldn't put him on the list.
Outstanding trolljob by Capcom!!!
If I may include a few pokemon Aeromancers
Rayquaza
- Lord of the skies that lives in the ozone layer (while only occasionally stopping by the Sky Pillar for the player to try and catch it)
- In the Destiney Deoxys movie Rayquaza makes it his goal to rid the world of Deoxys for daring to fly through its territory (even after a few years pass) much like how the Ozone layer keeps solar radiation from damaging the Earth
Tornadus
- The only pure flying type in the game
- Is never found in one specific location for too long
- Controls the winds enough to move rain clouds with it like they were its crazed fangirls
Suicune
- Is the pokemon incarnation of the north wind (although it IS a water type)
- Runs around the region and refuses to even fight the player until late in the game
- Can run on top of the water so it isn't bound by the limitations of the land
- In the anime (and the manga) it can be seen jumping up and down mountains as if they were mere hills
Winnona
-Uses a VERY well balanced team of flying type pokemon
- Her Altaria can handle electric types due to its dragon typing, high special defenses and its use of Earthquake (not to mention Dragon breath can paralyze any pokemon unfortunate enough to not finish it in one hit)
- Her Skarmory can handle rock and ice types due to its steel typing and ability to set up spikes
- Her Pelliper can take out fire types that pester Skarmory with brine and high defenses
- Her Swellow is also capable of landing at least one hit before fainting (or at least dragging out the battle with a few double teams)
- Her team (aside from Swellow) counters the main weaknesses that often cripple flying type users (see my points above). In fact if their was a flying type equivalent of Volt Switch Winnona would probably still be a real challenge in ORAS
10. I was expecting Xaldin to be on this list hands down, just not this low... That spot should've be reserved for the element user for the next list. (Still hasn't played a Kingdom Hearts game yet..)
(What console is this for and how much?)
(What? She's hot, can you blame me?)
when storm owl appeared on screen so did the internal screams i thought i had long ago left behind.
I can't wait for the Geomancer episode, earth is by far my favorite out of the 4 "main" elements.
i think a list of drunkards would be a cool idea
Kushala Daora is on here? Oh, f**k yeah!
Because that would be pretty cool.
well...... solking and quarter guy talked about ice. But hey, why not add another ice user list
+kirbystarwarrior He also put foreshadowing when he talk about Ivan's lightning abilities so there's that too.
+kirbystarwarrior i doubt it since ice and water are clearly defined as different and unique when it comes to VG characters
+kirbystarwarrior nice little pun there
i'd like to Top 10 Video game commanders or negotiators
Top Ten Aquamancers? Either put Kyorge or Champion Wallace on there!
+Richie Duck (The Dimension Spawn) Thank you.
now playing persona 4 for the first time so I finally get the thumbnail :)
Daw, I was hoping to see Rayquaza make an appearance somewhere. He's definitely no Barbarriccia but as the Dragon who lives in the Ozone layer with a mega ability that eliminates ALL flying type weaknesses ... Kinda had my hopes up xD
Ah well, Ray doesn't use solely flying moves, and the rest of this list just blew him away, Awesome job bro
You could say aeromancers are mostly 'vortex' characters. :P
Nah, their more like 'Airheads'
gosh darned it scorpion...ARE YOU DETERMINED TO MAKE A MOCKERY OF MY FAVORITE LEAGUE CHAMPS AT EVERY TURN?! Next week it's either naut or nami and I've got a feeling I'm going to be left high and dry all month long.
can you do "void" as in "space" "lack of element" i am sure you can find a "voidmancer" with some creative tecniques
You may want to check out the first 3 Suikoden games. The Tenkan Star, Luc, carries the True Wind Rune and is the most powerful wind user in the series. Also if you check his story, it is very tragic.
Glad to see a Golden Sun character make this list since neither Garet or Jenna made the Pyromancers list.
Yep. Dust wasn't on here. Well that's okay because I don't think you've played Elysian Tail yet
+Forest Bug Well to be fair, Dust if fairly limited in his manipulation of wind and he gets most of his damage by manipulating Fidget's spells.
+WilliamT S Right, but hey it's only opinions. Plus it all depends on how you choose to play Dust. You don't always have to rely on Fidget's spells, but hey I'm not judging. Also, I saw another aerokinetics list and Dust was at no. 5.
Top Ten Video Game Chainsawmancers?
Some can argue his best set is Earth, but Earth relies a lot on his own positioning
i just had the most badass idea for an aeromancer. not sure if i should tell anyone or keep it for myself...
“We’re aspiring video game journalists, of course they’re gonna yell at us.” 😂😂😂😂😂
I'm kinda sad that Klonoa didn't get on here...
Respect.
"...oh, and she have a rasengan" That made me laugh. Great list
oh that foreshadowing... how EAGERLY am i waiting for it GS...
Another great entry for Weapon's Month, Oscar! :D
I honestly never really cared about Wind as a fighting element, but I must admit you showed some amazing Aeromancers on here. I was especially happy to see Xaldin again, obviously :P
Even if I thought Pyromancers was way better, this was still very solid. Good job! :3
Also, I'm curious to know if you had a Pokémon or Pokémon Trainer in mind for this list.
It would be cool i you made a least about the top 10 weapon users counting characters who appeared in all your tops.
And Soul Calibur VI came out and she does have a lot of air powers there. So consider her in the honorable mentions.
Not my favorite monster, but Kushala Daora is my favorite fight. I just find it so much fun, and it's challenging, but not overwhelming.
Top 10 agromancers(power to control plants)
Or
Top 10 necromancers(power to raise the dead)
Also I think air is a underrated element because image a aeromancer doing something like sucking the air out of enemies to choke them or ride on tornadoes or become a tornado beast that can throw tornadoes and do like a jump drill attack or making winds so powerful it would be like a punch now THAT would be cool
Personally, I'm a bit surprised that Lugia isn't on this list, with its lore from the pokedex and its signature Aeroblast, it's certainly a pokemon that will "blow you away!"
But in all seriousness, keep up the good work Scorpion!
I like how you added an Elder Dragon from Monster Hunter.
Green Hanzo. If you could choose a "Windy" Example for Cartoons, Comics and Anime, what would choose?
This list blew me away. My favourite Aeromancer Aillish/Olivetess tho
12:16 Wow! Nanaka doesn't fuck around in combat in spite of her many in-story misunderstandings does she?
Peter Tilton You were hoping Aqua Man was on the list, ha ha, TOO BAD, Spout Man time!
Is ice going to be a separate element from water? Because if not, I'm really hoping to see Mitsuru Kirijo on the list dude!
For some reason I want to listen to some air supply. XD
32:22 funny you should say that: I'm on my way to the pool later today.
