I set out on a 200 mile round trip for my first visit to Motolegends, I went with a particular aim of purchasing a pair of riding jeans. I was first greeted and looked after by a lovey lady, supplied with a perfect coffee and biscuit. We discussed my needs, nothing was too much trouble, I usually have difficulty with jeans in general so I like to try them on rather than just ordering online. I had in mind the Rokker Legend Straight jeans and these in 32/30 fitted perfectly, fit and finish is superb. I also took the chance to try on a few jackets to get my sizing correct. In the age where high street shops are closing down and moving online only, the one to one service from Motorlegends is truly first class, long may they continue as I shall be returning again.
Sigh…. There’s really no Place like this in the States. It’s all big box, corporate “we don’t give a shit(e)” culture. These guys are almost Savile Row-level fitting and service.
I do simply enjoy listening to your videos. (And I did buy the Belstaff Long Way Up adventure suit both jacket and pants from you to demonstrate my gratitude). You do such a wonderful job. Masters of your craft. Be encouraged and God bless from the USA 👊🏻🇺🇸🤘🏻
In my opinion I just don't think there is a better channel out than yours for Moto products. You go into the detail on the product that I love and I feel I really get to know if the product is going to work for me or not. Thank you for all your efforts it is very much appreciated!
Biking since 1977, reborn after a 44 year hiatus (with a collection of 2 wheeler investments now) since 2019. I reckon I have spent 5 grand at least at Motolegends on mine and my lads gear. I'm 62 so I need "Best". Summer. Winter. Comms. Lid.. etc. I never go ANYWHERE else for advice, or to buy my gear. My head is an odd shape and my first and second lids (AGV and Schuberth) gave me headaches. Chris (and Sean) against their initial thoughts on my cranium shape, ended up supplying me with a lid they never expected would fit me (Neotec II), and tailored it with inserts and oh man - it is the Dee's Bee's. Same with my Scott's. Same with my Belstaffs (Trialmaster and Mojave). Same with my Richa gloves, and Stadler suit and Marrakesh jacket. NOBODY else in this country is so professional, expert, or caring. in getting you the best item for YOU and your needs - not their bottom line. I drive 2 hours each way when I need gear.
Very interesting video. With respect to gloves, for street riding the most injury. Prone portion of the hand is along the outside edge of the hand because they hand gets smacked down onto the street and that’s where you want your protection. The knuckles are not nearly as injury prone.
The Klim Zepher wind stopper is also high rated, wear mine more off the bike than on as very stretchy and packs down to a small size to fit in the laptop bag for those chilly mornings!
Glad to see so many Held items here. They put out some real fine gear, often overlooked by the overseas reviews, but bang for Euros it's often hard to beat. Sure I have some fancy, smart looking sunny sunday gear, yet when it comes to serious commuting spring to autumn, Held is what I tend to ride in.
Another great video, both informative and entertaining. Definitely like the format of having many different products and a short (but informative) bit on each one. Keep up the good work guys
By my count I own 10 of these products. Clearly I need to stop watching your videos and reading your weekly emails 😂 . In all seriousness, the information is spot on and the quality of the products is superb. When added to Motolegend’s customer service, it truly is an unbeatable combination. Keep up the great work.
I have worn the Klim Outlander GTX boots for over a year, probably close to 10K miles. Very comfortable on and off the bike, love the Boa system. But be aware that during a good rain your feet will get wet. Water resistant, not waterproof. Also, since I use very much off-road pegs on all my bikes and like to step on from the left footpeg, my left sole, already thin for comfort is wearing out extremely fast and I might have to buy new boots soon. But boy they are comfy to ride and just walk or hike around.
Always enjoy your "kit" reviews , this one was particularly interesting , very impressed with the Klim Outlander GTX boot so will definitely be investing some of my hard earned cash in a pair before the season starts.
Great video and I bought Richa warm grip gloves after watching review on your channel. Review was so helpful and I am so happy with the gloves. They indeed works best with heated grips and I could comfortably ride even 6-7 degrees Celsius temperature !! Keep making good videos 🎉
Common sense is not an absolute given today but top quality, Knowledgeable, expert advice from someone who is passionate about their subject is without doubt pure gold. I hope to see you very soon. Thank you.
This is the first of your videos that I have come across. What an interesting and comprehensive review - really excellent to hear from a professional who knows exactly what they are talking about. I’ve now already placed a (small) order with you, and expect to become a regular customer. Thanks so much.
Chris this was an exceptional video! It was an absolute pleasure to watch all 42 minutes of it and you delivered every product in a way that made me really trust your opinion. Hopefully I'll be able to visit the store in person soon!
Great summary. It's worth saying that Shoei and Arai have different shell shapes and so suit different heads, and you're generally one or the other. In my experience, you can hanker after a Neotec all you want, but an Arai head will be uncomfortable in one despite changing internal pads etc. to try and relieve the pressure points. And vice versa.
Great video Chris and can’t argue with any of the logic in those items you have chosen. Sure some will have a preference but having been a customer of ML for years know how knowledgeable and understanding you are. The passion you exude is fact and experience based and so I will always take your views seriously. The video did end with no link buttons but that’s probably just a temporary thing. Not sure if you have done this but a list of these featured products on the web site would enable a quick link in to any one product that was to be purchased. Thank you Chris.
Love these long videos. When that being said I couldn’t help to notice your earlier unconditional love and support for Halvarssons was in someway ‘cooled down’ a bit🤣🤣
Yes, that would not be unfair, but Halvarssons is not the company it was. It was sold a few years ago, and is now owned by a venture capital-backed distributor. The quality is not what it was. CP
@@Motolegendsthanks a lot for this info mate. I didn’t know that and for this reason I will not buy any more from that brand I did actually buy the Idre jacket and the Rider pants from Halvarssons but that’ll be the last. Does that goes for Lindstrands as well?
This is a truly exceptional best of video. The information is clearly presented and a sufficient amount of detail is provided to understand what qualified a particular product as best of category. As a very particular SOB that owns several pieces of gear referenced here I can say that it reflect my personal experience with these products as well. I also like that it focuses on best overall, rather than just trying to be a "best of this year" which always seems more like a marketing play to push new gear.
On both my flip up older Shoei and a more recent detachable chin piece helmet the most source of noise is from the visor itself, easily proven by resting a finger on a few spots on the visor during a ride. Helmets are just noisy, hearing damaging so.
Great video, saving it for when i need to buy some gear. Couldn't tell by watching if the modular helmet was flip-up or flip-back. Personally, I consider them 2 completely different categories.
Nice review of your favorites! I wish there was a shop like this in the states. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the bulk of American motorcycle riders either ride a Harley with no gear, or a sport bike with just a helmet. Too bad there isn't a market for personalized fitting and shopping for moto gear here in the US.
The Tricker’s boot is indeed one of our favourite boots, but perhaps because of its somewhat niche appeal we didn’t include it. The fact is that we could have made this our Top 50, and we would still have had to leave some great stuff out. CP
Hey guys, I really appreciate your videos. I’m in American living in Paris and I can’t make it to your shop anytime soon eventually I will get there though. I wanted to know if you recommend any shops here. It seems there’s not quite a shop that will be as good as yours, but something that would get me through until I come see you. thanks a lot and keep the videos coming.
I own about one third of what you showed in the video. Wish you had the Spidi leather jacket in stock as would have saved me buying a Belstaff. You will not get better service than moto legends. They properly take care of you. They even wired the harness on my bike for the warm and safe gear.
The Shoei Neotech 3 is arguably the right up there with the Schuberth C5, the no. 1 flip helmet. Tech wise they are neck & neck, but the engineering of the visor movement goes to Schuberth. In my case, what drives the Schuberth to the win is the integrated design of Sena comms that adds to the quiet design. Neither will leave you wandering, but the total "package" must to Schuberth.
We are doing a video about the two, but the fact that the Neotec comes in three shell sizes, and not two, puts it in a different league to the Schuberth. Don’t really understand the comms. thing as both are fully integrated. The ability to custom fit the Shoei is also way ahead of the Schuberth system, especially as you can only custom fit three out of the six sizes with the Schuberth. The new PFS service from Shoei will also push things further in the Shoei’s favour. Remember one thing. We are working on a large sample base. These aren’t my feelings. Our views are based on the feedback we get daily from customers; and as we are the UK’s largest seller of both helmets that probably gives our views some weight. CP
Have you tried the HJC RPHA 91 ? Shoei has a slightly better interior material feel, but the HJC is damn nice and fits me perfectly. The way the chin bar tucks real close to the helmet when open is a nice feature. Adjustable sun visor as well. It is also lighter and more quiet than the Shoei or Schuberth although that can vary depending on personal fitment. The Shoei NXR 2 with the additional Photocromatic visor is my favorite helmet over all.
It's always funny hearing you say that Merino can be worn for weeks without getting smelly. I can put on Merino wool fresh out of the shower and have it smelling by the end of the day no problem!
Have you had a chance to compare the Klim Adventure GTX against Leatt ADV HydraDri 7,5 boot ? For me the Leatt 7,5 boot is just awesome. Protective, comfortable, easy to wear and put on and off. Like the looks as well. Don't have the Klim GTX but would like your opinion on the Leatt ADV HydraDri 7,5 as you appreciate good products instead of marketing hype.
Unfortunately, things have changed with Daytona. Whilst they will repair the boots and resole them still, they will not guarantee that the waterproof liner will keep its integrity. Therefore, for resoling and a new liner costs £250 plus VAT and can take 12 weeks, plus postage etc. I'm considering just getting another pair.
All good kit. It should be pointed out that BMW, because you're unable to stock it, produce some of the best motorcycle equipment. Just thought, are there any other brands that are not included due to licensing?
I own two neotec 2s and recently purchased a neotec 3 two upgrade . Thank God I didn’t sell my 2s the three is near deafening my first ride I had to stop and find ear plugs . And if you think I’m making this up ask anyone who owns a 3 .
You're amazing! You said you're video recording is from January 24th. It's January 18th; that's 6 days from now. That's incredible! What are the winning lottery numbers for tomorrow? Those nice jeans are $450 US.
just wondering for people that find the daytona roadstar gtx just a touch too warm and not breathable enough for uk summer is there an alternative ? or possibly a 2nd boot that would compliment the roadstar for the warmer months ? do other roadstar owners also have this issue from what otherwise is a excellent boot ? thanks
Following the link to the Richa Squadron gloves, the description mentions it’s “fully CE approved” whatever that means, and then both in the description and specifications it’s not mentioned whether it’s level 1, level 1+KP or level 2. All the other gloves linked in the description don’t even mention CE at all. Please provide CE ratings for products on your website, we need transparancy in the industry.
I have a question: seeing as Himalayans are no longer made and I haven’t saved enough to buy one outright in cash, is it possible to buy a 2023 model on HP? and if yes, does anyone know where and how much deposit do I need to pay? I’m based in the UK. Thank you.
For 2024 they need to invent a completely new way of protecting the rider. Impact is what kills the rider so.... create a live matrix organic reactive moveable armour that isnt static but reacts by multiplying its armour on top of another armour continuing to overlap one another until the impact is over. Gone are the days of static armour, it needs to be literally moving to overlap another material in reponse to impact. I'm not talking about D30 thats old, im talking about a matrix reactive like alive organic material that literally physcally moves to overlap.
I really enjoy your videos thanks but find the constantly changing camera angles rather irritating. When people are talking to others, they usually face them, not keep looking somewhere else. It seems a bit of a fad with a few people to do this at the moment in their videos, but I don't think it's very positive. Apart from that, keep up the good work and thanks again. 😃👍🤗
I read your comment then watched the video. Back now to say how much I agree with you. It's really annoying to see this 2-camera approach now you've pointed it out!
Great video...I love the Klim Outlander boots which do everything you describe....a few differences though...your bespoke Tricker boots are better than Rokker imo and I think the Belstaff Poplar Jeans are by a country mile the most comfortable on the market, even if you have to get them turned up....
Let's get one thing perfectly clear about Gore-Tex and other similar Expanded Teflon and other chemically derived type coatings. At any given time, they are all EITHER Waterproof, OR Breathable, but they can NEVER be both at the same time. That's why a separate waterproof outer garment is best. Ryan F9 over at the Fort Nine UA-cam channel has proven it for all motorcyclists to see with his video "Gore-Tex is a Marketing Gimmick" : ua-cam.com/video/GGEzJJYiROk/v-deo.html
Yes, there’s an element of truth to that, but not sure that this should have come as a surprise to anybody who understood how membranes work. Yet it’s still not totally true, and I have participated in experiments at Gore that have shown that a GTX membrane will still breather better than other membranes even when totally submerged in water. But none of Ryan’s ranting negates the fact that Gore’s breathability and waterproofing scores are in a different league to anybody else’s. Nor that Gore is the only company to guarantee its membranes for life. Given this, to suggest that Gore-Tex is a rip-off is a nonsense. It’s bloody brilliant stuff! CP

I thought the Klim Baja S4 rated highly with you. Particularly with your emphasis on a layering strategy - With which I agree by the way.
The Shoei Neotech 3 is arguably the right up there with the Schuberth C5, the no. 1 flip helmet. Tech wise they are neck & neck, but the engineering of the visor movement goes to Schuberth. The Shoei NXR 2 with the additional Photocromatic visor is my favorite helmet over all.
I have the c5. Got it to replace my Neotec 2. The visor issue, of it dropping at 30 mph, shows a lack of real world testing. Shoei win hands down.
Some great quality kit....albeit most of it out of my (acceptable to me) price range.
Good vid - thanks
Always informative

For warm and safe heated jacket I have to say one thing. It heat your arms too hot compared to your core which is annoying and sometimes painful.
Chris is the BEST.
Klim is pronounced climb (note the dash above the i).

Can someone point me to the Sole Shifter he mentioned?
@motolegends I'm very much interested on this item myself too ! but I cannot find it listed on ther website nor by googling it either.
Sir. Are the roadstar pro boots available in xl size?
For 2024 they need to invent a completely new way of protecting the rider. Impact is what kills the rider so.... create a live matrix organic reactive moveable armour that isnt static but reacts by multiplying its armour on top of another armour continuing to overlap one another until the impact is over.
Gone are the days of static armour, it needs to be literally moving to overlap another material in reponse to impact. I'm not talking about D30 thats old, im talking about a matrix reactive like alive organic material that literally physcally moves to overlap.
Klim outlander is a great boot
Surprised given the cold time of the year you didn't mention over-mitts/gloves and bar-mitts. They're inexpensive essentials for cold weather riding.
Sorry, don’t sell them, and I suppose I would hope that with the best gloves they might not be necessary. CP
@@Motolegends I have Knox Zero 2's and heated grips but it's still not enough to stop finger tips freezing.
@@Nissedasapewt42 Thank you. 🙂
In the last few years hasn’t the #1 motorcycle product been UA-cam motorcycle videos?

How many seconds does a wax cotton jacket protect your skin in a slide?!
Great video Chris! Unrelated, do you guys still do the bike meetups in Guildford?
Giving them a rest this year, but trying to come up with something to replace them. CP
Just an FYI: Klim is pronounced "climb"
Rukka does not come close to Aerostitch in performance IMO. Have owned both and for me there is no comparison for cold weather riding.
I'll state the obvious- what about the Cap, can we buy it ;-)
Haha -yes! They have them on the website 😁
Please put chapters in your vlog,so we can skip to articles we’re interested in
Very informative, lots and lots of things I like.....£££ 😢😂😂
