When life serves you lemons, in order to be successful, you make lemonade. With all of the woodworking projects and time running out we cannot afford a bent log.
Yes my those bananas can be a lot of waste so I usually cut firewood off the end until some of it's out then it might make an 8' or 10' foot board, & I always try to start with the hump up gives me a better idea what i have to work with :) I had lots of 16' logs last summer that were banana & I just cut them all in half then way less waste & I needed a lot of 8' boards so it worked , But we all need a little firewood anyway !

I'm burning, predominately, madrone and small amounts of oak. You have a great point though. Truly appreciate your correspondence.
