The reformed Daddy Cool doing a benefit show in April 1975 for Bangladesh at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl. The set is electrifying and shows why they are one of Australia's most iconic artists.
There's something cathartic about seeing all these young people having fun in the prime of their lives. They would be pushing 70 now. Time waits for no man. Important to enjoy life and accumulate meaningful experiences.
Everything about this is glorious; from the band, to the crowd of people who seem to be both amazed and disinterested at the same same. Truly fantastic!
They didn't call him Ross The Boss Wilson for no reason. Daddy Cool are one of Australia's most important Rock Bands. When I first heard "Hi Honey Ho" time stood still and the Earth stopped turning.
This is a great Video. Just a minor correction this is at Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. There is no Myer Music Bowl in Sydney. Myer Music Bowl was named after Sidney Myer. I only mention this because I got a little confused & had to check the facts.
I just checked out this fun fact. April 20 in 1975 was a Sunday. Everything in Melbourne on a Sunday was pretty much closed back in those days and most people stayed home. So that's a strange time to stage a concert. Might explain the small crowd. And there wouldn't have been footy that day. Sunday games didn't start until the 1980s as I recall. Still, a good concert.
Everyone is smoking and not really into it. Small crowd for one of Australia's greatest bands at the Myer Music Bowl. Meanwhile there was probably mania just up the road and round the corner at the G for the footy.

Absolute masters of being as cool as Daddy!

Daddy who? Seriously this needs to be preserved in Australia's cultural archives, for the dancing as much as the music :)

This is very very cool.
Daddy Cool is underated
Interesting to see they added an extra Guitarist to their line-up.
Traditionally they were a four piece.
Amazing band. Both live and on record.
I like those Birds
There are plenty of Sharpies doing their classic dance style.
Mainly girls with their feather style hair dos.
That would be the SIDNEY Myer Music Bowl, in MELBOURNE.
Correct
Ross has oodles of charisma !

Funny seeing the sharps after all these years ....very nostalgic LOL
Sharpies looked stupid then and they look stupid now.
@@stevenally8015 Yes - intimidating for me at the time as I was still a school kid then, but in hindsight, I agree.
Have to laugh too as I never saw a Sharpie at a Mondo Rock gig.

VFA had decent crowds every Sunday.
The first time I saw Daddy Cool was at the Bowl. It could have been this event or maybe one earlier, I thought Ross had a tail.
Is the bowl still the same today?
Ross Wilson used to wear a foxtail....here he is rivaling Roger Daltrey with the sexy bare chested look

Get excited audience! A time before crowd surfing.
Almost everybody smoked.
