Bonay M is simply one of the biggest and best groups in the history of world music
...and there are hundreds of people even today who believe Boney M. could not perform and sing live...well not only the did, but their live vocals were good too. Bobby Farrel sang all the male vocals of Daddy cool, and to me they sound even besser than Frank Farian's, and Mazie sings background vocals too! Talented, gracious artists all of them

NOT so strange....90% of all the tv performances full playback....even the concerts sent out on tv were so good as fake because Farian wanted to show the best sound!
This concert came decades later on the market like also Dublin 1978 and Sun City 1984.
Farian wasn't real clever when he released the first album....he had only to mention...vocals Boney M. and Frank Farian....and only let Bobby and Maizie sing/say a few words....besides are 2 good singers enough for a 4 membered group!
Bobby Farrell was a brilliant dancer and showman, and he could perform live. Frank Farian wasn't charismatic at all. I don't understand why he hasn't allowed Bobby and others to sing live.
@@laurawieczorkowska3756 I agree with you, although Frank Darian did create the whole Boney M group, he wrote the music and the lyrics to their hits, I mean, he has been charismatic behind the scene. And it is true, that on the real live concerts of Boney M all group members, Bobby included, sung their hits live, but not on the recordings

Yes those were the early days they performed with live orchestra then it because rare. In 2016 we attended live solo performance of Liz when everything was prerecorded. Nevertheless, lovely experience to watch.
Boney M was just the best live band of those days. Very hard to beat.

A mí estos vídeos de los conciertos en vivo hasta me hacen dudar de si la voz de los discos sea la de Farian, como dicen, o si eso también es un mito urbano. Porque la voz real de Boby Farrell no suena tan distinta de la de las grabaciones, es la diferencia entre una voz en crudo y la misma voz depurada y trabajada electrónicamente en estudio. La de las chicas también suena distinta, porque también hay que tener en cuenta que esta grabación tiene mucho ruido.

Thank you, All the members were talented as far as I can tell. I think that must have hurt Farian's ego. That must be also the reason for him to use others instead of Liz and Marcia Especially in Gadda da Vida and Fire bobby later in 1980's. Marcia wasn't given much chance in the later albums Especially in Ten Thousand light years album. [IMHO It has some good songs in it and I think the song "Were did you go" could have been better performed by Marcia] and Eye dance [This album doesn't even seem to be inspired]. Just a thought though, Boney M could have gone without Farian;Just like they did with the infamous "Josephine baker" single

Esto demuestra que Bobby Farrell, además de ser un gran showman, cantaba y que la voz masculina de Bonnie M era la de él, y que todos los miembros del grupo cantaban. Y tira por tierra el mito absurdo de que Farian iba a tener contratados cuatro cantantes para que dos no cantaran... Basta ver estos conciertos para ver qué la voz de Farrell es suya, y ver videos de Farian de cuando era cantante para ver que su registro era agudo. Ojalá el mito pueda derribarse totalmente y se haga justicia con rstos excelentes artistas.

Ummmm I think that this is actually Bobby Farrell's own voice on songs such as 'Baby Do You Wanna Bump', and 'Daddy Cool'. It most def was not the distinctive voice of Frank Farian. I think it was just easier to do it this way live.

So, If you have Live concert in Seberia 1978, the World - Tour concert of Boney M in Poland 1979, live in Wembley, London 1979 and Open-Air concert in Jamaica 1981. Can you upload in youtube.
