This is an excellent round-up of comma rules in English! One important point: the comma before "and" is optional, and it's often not used by professional writers. In academic writing (for school), we usually use this comma.
Oh my goodness! All those years in school I could never understand commas in the English language. My first language is Spanish. This video is excellent. I'm learning so much now at my old age of 70, Lol! I'm a slow learner, but your teaching is fabulous. Can't wait to learn more English grammar from you. Thank you so much.
I think, this lesson was truly needed. Especially cause the rules from our native languages do not apply in English. We usually don't learn about commas in schools. Great video!

In my past days, I don't get a proper English teacher, nowadays I lot improved my English knowledge by marina and now I feel confident, she is a marvelous teacher. we love you marina
If you're reading an English grammar book, the "introductory words" you describe at 9:23 are often called interjections, and if the emotion is very strong, you can substitute the exclamation point for the comma. "Hey, that's my car." becomes "Hey! That's my car!"
Marina, I can not thank you enough. you are the great, most brilliant, and happy teacher that I have ever seen in my life. I wish I could have you at the university where I study in. Thank you so much for explaining the uses of commas.

Lemme pause here too, to leave a comment. Its not just right, it is great. I love you Marina, you are best teacher ever I have met in my life. Thanks a bunch ❤❤❤. But I have got a question, did I use the commas in the right places?
Your explanations and examples are great. The only thing I´d give you an advise for is the transition to the next topic. Often times I have trouble to follow because in my mind I´m still at the last topic. It would be great if you could prepare the viewer in a direct or indirect way for the next topic. You helped me out so I hope I could also help you out.

The use of commas in writing formal English is one of the few topics which is (almost) impossible to cover in days, let alone in minutes. Putting Commas accurately as we write something should be regarded as an art, as this can distinguish someone's writing from the rest. Your video apparently has covered an intermediate level of the lesson on using the Commas. The rules for them don't always adhere to normal rules of grammar, however. I am not an English teacher, nor am I an English native. But I have come across lots of English writings written by the natives, the gist of which tells a Comma could be differently used by different writers depending on how they are contextualizing their stories and importantly, emphasizing the words therein. The more you write, the more you become a pro at using them. There is no exception to that. Learning to use a Comma and a Proposition correctly in a sentence can (sort of) master someone in their English writing.
Interesting lesson marina I mistake a lot in this concept "commasssssssss", however now it's plain as day for me . Keep up the good work 👍 and thanks a lot marina 🙂

Think of it like a period. We use a semi-colon to separate two clauses. Here's an example: I love my new job; however, I'm worried about my new boss. You can use a period there instead of the ;
There are two primary uses for this symbol. The first was perfectly explained by @Learn Academic English. The second use is when you have a list of items that would normally be separated by commas, but one or more of the list's items has its own comma. In that case, the items are separated by semicolons. For example: my favorite cities are Boston, Massachusetts; Buffalo, New York; and Portland, Oregon.
