Hello, I have been watching your videos and I find them very instructive, I am an x-ray technician, and CT interventional Radiology tech, A year ago I ventured into the path of PACS, but to be honest, I don't know much, I work with different people with different characters, and not everyone is willing to teach me, I don't know if it's for fear that I might take away their jobs or because my salary is a little higher than theirs, I don't know but not everyone wants to guide me, and The communication between them is not very good also, my experience with IT is quite limited, my background is radiology, and I am writing to see if you could guide me how to obtain my certifications and learn. I like what I do but I don't know where to start or which courses to take, nobody tells me anything. I have two friends here but I wouldn't say I like to bother them every 5 minutes, they don't have any certification, so they don't know how to guide me or which one to get first if you could help me it would be beneficial for me. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.
Hello @@TheXraydiazjj123 It's great that you have clinical experience because this experience is helpful for the job of a PACS Administrator. Here are two PACS certification paths you can take: 1. CIIP: www.abii.org/Qualification-Requirements.aspx 2. PARCA: Starting with the CPAS Certification: pacsadmin.org/certification.cfm Check out both websites and see which one you would be more comfortable with. The following book has been recommended to help with studying for these exams: www.amazon.com/Practical-Imaging-Informatics-Applications-Professionals/dp/1441904832. Just getting started in Healthcare IT (currently doing desktop support) and I'm trying to understand all the ways that it's different from normal enterprise IT, or at least what I consider normal since I'm coming from IT for a manufacturing plant. I appreciate you putting this content out to help people better understand concepts and standards related to Healthcare IT.
Andrew, thanks for the feedback. I also started in IT and didn't know anything about Healthcare IT until I was thrown into it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Way better than the previous tutorial. What an improvement! I need to understand the structure of DICOM. Tags, studies, series, this kind of stuff You have got a subscriber!
Hello Z1drock, For EMR-HL7 Integration, I would recommend the HL7 Certification from HL7.org. They have different certifications for the different HL7 Versions: www.hl7.org/certification/
Why is it that most pacs servers with reporting capabilities are still Java reliant? What vendors sell on premise or cloud server s that aren't Java reliant?
This is a good question that I don't have the answer to. You would have to find different PACS companies and ask them. This way you get your answer directly from the company.
Hi, any tool to convert Dicom transfer syntax to other transfer syntx? I have dicom images which has heavy size. I want to archive them in my pacs by reducing the size.
@@HealthcareITSolutions thanks for responding. I am not sure but there is less possibility of having option to choose Transfer Syntax. Our many clients does use carts of various companies. DICOM is the standard form of communication used for transferring digital medical images between between different medical systems. PACS is an image management system that stores these medical images. So DICOM is just the communication method being used by PACS and other medical systems.

Thanks for the feedback! I have some other videos on here that talk about DICOM Tags and importing studies into the Orthanc DICOM Server.
Brilliant video, you explained the concept of DICOM really well.
Thanks for the comment FM

Learn HL7 and the DICOM standards and you can easily get a great job in healthcare it.
Cool keep it up 💪

I’m studying Healthcare IT but will going for my CCNA this spring.
Do you know the salary for CCNA within HIT?
I don't know the salary for a CCNA within HIT, and I don't know if the salary would be different than having a CCNA in other industries.
