  • DICOM stands for Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine. It's an international standard that defines the communication format for medical images in Radiology.
In this video we go into the details of:
    Why do we need DICOMs?
How is the information arranged in DICOM images?
    How large are DICOM files?
Info on modalities that use Dicom like: Digital X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound.
How are DICOM files viewed including Gray Scale Lookup Tables (GSLT) and Hanging Protocols?
    And much more fun stuff.
